With Cody's back finally turned, Lelei could let himself go a little bit. That is, he allowed himself a few lingering looks up and down Cody while the young man made his way to the kitchen for the coffee. At twenty-five, Cody was a few years older than the type of men Lelei tended to prefer, but Cody otherwise had everything Lelei was typically looking for. He was small, even when not compared to someone as big as Lelei, and he had a nice feminine build that Lelei liked in a young man. If Cody liked to dance around in stockings and half-pants, he would be pretty ideal.

But Lelei's ogling had to be short lived. He was still on the job and Cody was returning with a big pitcher of coffee. As comical as it was, it was perfect for Lelei's size and the situation at hand. He gladly accepted it.

"Thanks. A Siren, huh? Well, that's really something. I've seen one in real life, or rather, never assumed they existed. I'm going to guess that that has something to do with your Dante situation. Or maybe it's just your looks?"

Lelei drank from the pitcher without any sugar, which helped cover up a few extra quick looks at Cody.

"Yes. Yes. I want a good lay out of the house. I especially want to see any possible points of entry that I need to keep an eye on."

Cody could feel his eyes on him, it was something that he was always able to feel. Maybe it was something that that came with his power. He couldn't help but run a hand through his hair as he made the coffee. It was kind of weird to have someone in his house other than dante but he felt kind of state. He was worried, that Dante would show up again.

"Yeah, I have this kind of Allure...Maybe it affected him more than normal?? I've tried to control it, tone everything down. Sometimes it works but then sometimes it doesn't. I really did tell him it was over, I haven't been sending mixed signals or anything" Cody said rubbing the back of his neck, he didn't want the police to think he had been leading Dante on. He was seriously done with that guy. He could only handle so much and he figured Dante would leave him alone.

"Okay, i can do that, So there's the front door, and those windows, the back door is in the kitchen. There's a side door that leads the the garage, but I have a wooden block there because I'm afraid someone will like break in. Also I have four bedrooms with a window each. Then the Master Bedroom with three windows, also all the bathrooms have at least one window and there's a bathroom in my room." Cody said, leading Lelei on the tour and ending with his bedroom and bathroom. He had bought a big house in hopes that his sister's and brother would visit him.

Cody managed to answer a question before Lelei even asked it. That is, he made it abundantly clear to Dante that the relationship was over. Lelei knew that someone, either himself or someone at the department on the case, would ask if Cody was not being direct enough or giving Dante some ambiguity to go on. It was a simple, common, and frequently problematic step that people missed. Already Cody was making a good case to press charges on Dante.

The home tour was a nice one, and Lelei frequently lagged behind to give each room and possible entry point a good once-over. Staying behind also gave him more opportunities to watch Cody's backside, but that was beside the point.

"Well, I can confidently say that he won't be coming through the garage at least."

Lelei was honestly impressed with the wooden block Cody had on the side door. It was crude and inelegant, but there were not a lot of ways to counter it silently. Sometimes the best ways to best a break-in was a brutish, yet unexpected, locking mechanism.

As for the rest of the house, Lelei found himself impressed in another kind of way. For one guy, Cody lived in a really big house. There were five bedrooms, counting the master bedroom!

"And you say you live here by yourself? Seems like a lot of unused space..."

The tour ended and Lelei was confident in his mental layout of the house.

"Awesome. I think I've narrowed the most likely entry points down to a few spots, unless Dante is being particularly persistent and tries to clamber through a bathroom window. So from here, go about your night as normal and I'll try and stay away from the windows. Hopefully, if he's watching, he hasn't seen me yet.

But if you see him at all, you let me know. I'll be there as fast as I can to grab him."

Cody smiled a bit and laughed awkwardly, as he finished the tour. The garage was at least safe, according to the police officer. He wasn't exactly sure about the rest of the house. He typed the security code into the system just incase, he didn't need his windows or door opening from the outside without him knowing. As much as he trusted the police officer, he was still worried that Dante wouldn't somehow get through to him. He didn't even want to imagine the consequences should that happen.

"Yes, I live by myself, but uhm, My siblings come to visit. I have ten sisters and a brother all the same exact age as me." He said said, shyly, he was part fish after all and he was pretty sure that he came from an egg or something. He wasn't exactly sure how it had happened as much it had happened.

"Are you hungry? I'm gonna cook dinner and it would be rude of me to not make you something. My fridge is fully stocked" He said rocking back and forth on his heels, it felt kind of wrong to Have Lelei doing something for him and not doing something in return. Go about his business? Like taking a bath, singing and stuff....He highly doubted he could walk around naked with lelei around.

"Okay will do, Ill back to cook after a shower" He said smiling gratefully and then walking off to get into the shower.

Having eleven siblings sounded like an utter nightmare to Lelei. His own people tended to be like humans, in that they typically had one or two babies born and raised at a time. So having three or four siblings was already sounding like too much for Lelei. But siblings in the double digits just seemed unfathomable. Not that he was going to judge Cody or his parents for that. Though he did wonder how that all worked.

"Well, if you're offering... I guess I'll have something meaty, and some more coffee. But don't feel like you have to make me anything big and fancy. I'm here as a service to you."

Lelei pulled out his phone and began dialing the police station to give them an update on the situation. He called back toward Cody as the young man went to shower. Cody showering was an image Lelei would have liked to see, but... the job.

"Remember, just act normally. You can't let Dante know that he's getting to you."

"Something meaty?" Cody asked more to himself than anything, well he could do that. He was mentally going over what he could make. Maybe a meatloaf, or fried chicken. If he made a meatloaf he would probably have to prep it. He was leaning towards fried chicken, after all he could make a lot of that with the deep fryer he had a bought awhile back. Cody may have had a thing for cooking, but he liked music more. He wasn't okay with going back to school for cooking, it seemed like a bit much. "Okay, I can make more Coffee." He said as he was down the hallway.

"I'll try but it's kind of hard with him being all creepy" He was already imagining his shower and how the awesome the new shower head he bought would feel. Thirty minutes later he came back out with a long button up and pair of short shorts. It was possible they could be girl shorts, but it didn't matter to him. He toweled his wet hair and went over towards the kitchen. "So. tell me about yourself? I mean, I can't be the only one giving out information right?" He wasn't sure if that was how it worked considering Lelei was just doing his job. He put on another pot of coffee, making an note to just fill the pot back up once it was empty.

Lelei was finishing up his call to the police station when Cody finally reemerged from his shower, and Lelei had to wonder if Cody was deliberately trying to catch his eyes now. The shark man nearly missed his pocket when putting away his phone because he was so caught up in the way Cody's shorty-shorts held him. The tails of the button up shirt were preventing him from seeing if Cody's bottom was falling out of the shorts, however, and Lelei had to regather his wits before Cody noticed.

"Oh, uh, me?"

Conversation. That was a good way to distract Lelei.

"Well, as you've probably guessed, I'm not from the island. I'm from a place under the sea quite a ways off shore."

Lelei started to get up and follow Cody into the kitchen, coming up behind him as he made more coffee. Again, he found his eyes wandering a little. But professionalism was keeping him in check for now.

"I also work for the Academy when I'm not doing cases for the police. Security work. Employers like to use my natural looks for intimidation purposes. I don't really mind. I know what I look like... And I like what I'm looking at...."

Hopefully Cody didn't hear the last little whisper out of Lelei as he stood pretty close behind him.

Cody kept and ear out for Lelei's voice as he went about his business, no need to start singing if there was someone talking right? He wondered slightly if any of his neighbors could hear the hypnotising melody even though he kept it soft and slow. He wasn't even sure, the man he assumed was somewhere in the living room was immune to it so he didn't want to risk it.

"Well we have that in common, I spent majority of my life living in the sea also" He said turning slightly and offering the man a shy smile. He took out the chicken and put it the microwave to thaw out, he got everything else ready. He was going to bake potatoes instead of mashing them. Lelei could eat just chicken if he didn't want a side.

"I see, I can see why people would think you were intimidating." He didn't catch the end part, or rather... He ignored the end part in hopes it wouldn't make him any shier around the very incredibly strong and good looking man. Yes Cody did have a type, and Lelei was most definitely it. As he started to flour the Chicken, he realized that coffee was done so he pour it into the pitcher again and Gave it to Lelei, accidentally brushing against him as he stretched up to get another filter for the machine.

"So do you prefer any kind of drink with your food, or are you gonna just drink coffee?" He asked while leaning against the counter, trying to discreetly checkout the other man. Of course he could just play it off as staring into space, but that was a pretty lame excuse.

Beyond being another nice piece of boy booty for Lelei to ogle, Cody was proving to be someone that Lelei might actually like getting to know more. Off-hours, of course. They had a somewhat shared, aquatic background that could prove to be a fertile ground for building a common bond. Not a lot of people on Manta Carlos had the kind of history that Lelei or Cody possessed, even if they too had far from normal upbringings.

"Maybe when this is all over, we can get a drink together sometime."

Lelei graciously accepted the new pitcher of coffee, and enjoyed the quiet and accidental touch they shared. Cody seemed to have yet another quality that Lelei liked: he was soft to the touch. Thinking about Cody's smooth skin gave Lelei pause and he had to step away, a little red-faced.

"I'll just stick with coffee, thanks. But I like hard whiskey when I'm off the clock, and usually at a club on weekends."

He was putting out feelers now, trying to guage whether Cody was his "type" or not. Very few people questioned a giant shark man's sexuality, but those few rarely pegged him as having a taste for young men.

Cody smiled and tucked his long hair behind his ear "I'd like that" He said blushing and turning his attention to the chicken, and putting the potatoes in the oven. He needed something to distract him from what was going on. How mad would Dante be if he went to get drinks with the good look police officer? Did he even care, the answer was of course Hell No but he was sure that he should be cautious. He didn't want the man to think he was easy because Cody wasn't, he just enjoyed the company of others.

"Oh what, Clubs do you go to? I sometimes DJ a few, but not often. I tend to stay home when I'm with someone unless me and that person go out together" It had been a while since Cody had been to an actual club. He didn't want to deal with jealous boyfriends or whatever it was they put on their relationship at the time. He wasn't sure if that made him a stick in the mud, he loved to party and dance with strangers. It was the best feeling, the music blaring and drawing out the words. Just getting lost in the music and not having to worry about remember the name of the person you were dancing with in the morning.
