Alec noticed that Cabel was probably more exhausted than he seemed. Alec smiled gently, and gave the other male a light poke on his temple. "I went here alone. Did you mishear me, maybe? I think you're sleep drunk, Cabel."

He laughed, his voice echoing in the courtyard once more. That was probably it, his voice was lulling Cabel to sleep.

He listened to his story, though. Not interrupting and simply smiling the whole time. "It's not like you can't see her again, right..? Well, I miss my parents, too, but I don't really feel that sad. I can always find a way to see them again."

He stood up and gestured Cabel to do so as well. "Hey, don't you think it's kinda late already? I think it's best if you go rest, you look tired. I can walk with you to the dorm if you want."

"I went here alone. Did you mishear me, maybe? I think you're sleep drunk, Cabel."

Cabel was poked on the temple and swayed a little in result, but he laughed along side Alec. "I think I must be, and you know what? I can't figure out why, I drank so much caffeine, I should be doing laps around the island right now."

"It's not like you can't see her again, right..? Well, I miss my parents, too, but I don't really feel that sad. I can always find a way to see them again."

"I guess you've got a good point there,
" Cabel admitted. "I'm just a little homesick. Even when I was bouncing around schools, I still got to see them a couple times each week."

Cabel couldn't help it--he yawned again.

Alec stood up and gestured to him, and Cabel rose to his feet along side him. "Hey, don't you think it's kinda late already? I think it's best if you go rest, you look tired. I can walk with you to the dorm if you want."

"That would be great man," Cabel said, stretching. A thought crossed his mind and thought it was fleeting, it kept coming back, nudging his consciousness. "You don't look tired, at all. What's your secret man? Because if you've got a tea or something to keep you awake, I gotta get my hands on it.""

((OOC: I am sorry I am so lame with posts x_x I've just been having a huge block with stuff lately. ))

(OOC: It's okay, I'm kinda the same ^^")

A chuckle escaped Alec's lips. Cabel was probably not as nocturnal as he was after all. That's okay, most people weren't. And, guessing that the guy had been busy before they met, of course he'd be tired.

And then there's also Alec's voice. It's not like he was intentionally putting Cabel to sleep, it's just that his voice was really as soft as a lullaby, whether or not he uses his mild hypnosis.

He grinned at Cabel's question. He put an arm around the latter in a familiar buddy-buddy way, and started to walk, leading Cabel out of the courtyard, a distance at a time. "No secret," he answered. "It's my body clock. Ever since I was a kid, I've always slept at 3 am and wake up at 7 or 8. And then sleep at noon after eating lunch, or in the afternoon. The sun's forced this kind of lifestyle on me. Can't help being active at night. The sun hurts both my body and my eyes... I can go out at daytime but... I'll need lots of sunblock and some sunglasses."

He lightheartedly laughed and patted Cabel on the shoulder. "I don't think it's a good idea to copy my lifestyle," he added.

Cabel couldn't help it; He yawned.

The alchemist found himself under the other man's arm and automatically wrapped his arm around the man's side in return. He walked along side him, slowly, lazily, as though he knew exactly where they were going.

Cabel, of course, had no idea. He felt like he was dreaming.

"So you're like a vampire then?" Cabel asked, then flinched. "I'm sorry man, I know that's not a question I'm supposed to ask. You can ignore that. I am just completely baffled. I'm usually so awake at night--sleeping is usually the issue, not staying awake. Ugghhhh."

he shook his head again and then said, "You want to get some coffee?"

Alec snickered. "It's okay, I get that a lot, but no, I'm just an extreme albino," he said, referring to the vampire matter. "I guess you're just really tired tonight, but seriously I don't mind. Ask anything away. If you're curious."

Alec realized he didn't really know where to go next. To the dorms, maybe? But he wasn't sure which one. At the suggestion of coffee, it was like Alec suddenly became alert and even excited. He turned his widened eyes to Cabel and grinned. His arm had fallen off of the guy's shoulders somehow. "Coffee?? Sure! Do you make some on your own? Because I love coffee!"

“AH!” Cabel said, giving a slight laugh. “So you do drink coffee. I am onto your secrets. And I didn’t mean the skin thing, bro. Just the sleep schedule.”

He patted the young man on the shoulder and started to redirect their walk so they were heading out of the courtyard.

“I do make my own, but I can take you to a place that does it better. Have you ever been to that 24/hr burger joint right outside campus? Their burgers are really good but ugh, their coffee is to die for.”

Cabel looked at Alec and squinted suspiciously.

This was the most invasive question he would ask all night.

This was the question that would help Cabel determine if this was the beginning of a friend-ship or a life-long hatred.

“How do you take your coffee?”

"Hm?" Despite being outside almost every night, Alec didn't know about the burger joint. He wasn't curious enough to check it out. But if Cabel said their coffee's good, then that meant he had to try it out. "I think I've seen it, haven't really tried it, but if you say there's good coffee there then let's go."

He furrowed his brows curiously at Cabel's odd look on him later on. He was just curious, but Paradox was already starting to mutter warnings in his head. If the guy had his own body, Alec would seriously put a really heavy-duty duct tape on his mouth.

“How do you take your coffee?”

"Oh!" Alec laughed, and sounded a little awkward with it. "Well, it depends on what's available, but when I make my own coffee, it has to be really strong, and I usually put some cream and very little sugar, or sometimes I don't put sugar at all. I also drink black coffee, actually I appreciate it when I could taste the pure aroma. But I don't put much sugar either. I like it bitter."

Of course, he didn't know Cabel's reason for asking. He spoke the truth though. He didn't like too much sugar in coffee, even though he liked sweets in general.
