Live never did much physical training as the powers she worked towards training the most pertained to her ability to focus mentally. She never really worked on focusing physically as much though half of her power was pretty physical.

However, Live couldn't say that she didn't like the idea. She was fairly competitive herself so a race wasn't a bad idea either. Her clothes weren't bad for it either and that was just about the only thing that would have stopped her from getting on board for this little race.

"Sure. We can race." Live said as she stepped up to where Kaya was. As she did her own little patch of darkness appeared below her feet.

"I won't shadow travel either then. When it's this dark out, that's basically teleporting." Live chuckled a bit and looked to the girl, "And where are we racing too?"

"Let's head towards the shopping district. I think you might enjoy what I have in mind next. " with a grin Kaya was about to say go when another girl came rushing out the ballroom. Looking over her shoulder Kaya took to memory the girls face but couldn't remember seeing her before so she turned back to Live and shrugged before going back to her ready position.

"And....go!" Kaya said as her legs tensed for the second or two pause before her powerful muscles in her legs made her begin to run not touching the ground but insted solid shadow discs would appear as she would step down and dissapear once pressure was released from then. Her stride was a little odd as she bounded a little side to side taking her a little up as she ran as she begun to go over buildings disappearing into the night hopefully with Live right behind her.

As soon as the girl said go, Live was off. She wasn't sure that she could beat the girl but she sure as hell wasn't gonna make it easy on the girl either. However, Live knew she was at a disadvantage, just by the length of Kaya's legs.

She started off running but as Kaya used her shadow disks to carry her up and over buildings Live pulled more darkness together under her feet, forcing the shadows to take on a solid like quality and lift her over the building. She had use it more like stilts instead of floating disks like Kaya, as her own strength limited her shadows strength. But it was night and the darkness was strong, adding fuel to Live's power.

To anyone watching it would look like a purple demon girl running through the sky with another girl with a pillar of shadows underneath her following behind.

Valentine twirled on her own in the sea of masks, all this mystery, beauty, and yet, and yet, she was already growing bored with it. At least she continued to be stunning, her truest self, and so very comfortable in that.

Then, something else pressed into her, feeling just as pleasurable, magic similarly right and wrong in so many inviting, amusing ways. Val was delighted. She turned as the presence approached, only the highest of hopes. And those hopes were surpassed.

The woman was tall, elegant, and with an energy that was darker than dark. Exactly Val's type, oh dear. Her lashes fluttered, cheeks warmed. So the night still had promise after all.

"You don't even need to ask," she purred.

Death took her hand without a second thought. Because death had a weakness to pretty feminine people that could probably kill her. Swoon.

Val adored dancing, motions far more fluid and light than usual, often losing herself in it.

"Would you be so kind as to tell me something of yourself? I haven't been close to someone this enticing in a while, which is always disappointing, but makes this moment stand out even more."

Vincenzo Maria Fontana

Vincenzo led the lovely girl into the dance floor and danced with her in easy, fluid motions. She'd never been particularly attached to the luxurious lifestyle her lineage gave her, but the mannerisms and conventions stuck to her like the scars on her skin and afforded her many rich, nice things.

As they danced among the living and the dead, Vincenzo reveled in the way people wilted at the presence of their magic. Adorable.

They should be afraid.

She smiled charmingly at the girl. Up close, her aura spilled like a massive fog, obscuring her features somewhat. There was so much more contained at her core. Did she know of her potential?

"I share the sentiment, my dear. Lovely women and death magic mix so well with my interests. Personally, my expertise lies in the Eldritch." She twirled her and pulled her close when she was done. "I came here for the party, this one and the one overlapping with it. My name is Maria Fontana. And you... are Valentine Crowther. I'm a fan."

No matter how much of an outcast she had always been in her childhood's forced Crowther parties, silhouettes of well dressed strangers ever aggressive, the dances had made things survivable. Valentine was certain that was where her love for it had started. A beautiful escape, surreal in how pure it felt.

She was no longer paying attention to anyone other than her partner. Nothing else mattered.

Val practically melted at that smile.

"Ah, Eldritch-" she said as she was spun. "-how ambitious. A fascinating subject, most definitely, even if not the one I chose to put all my time into. We've all, hm, dabbled."

And she did melt (to her almost shame, if she wasn't so distracted) this time, pressed close. Her thoughts then buzzed with the new information. Maria Fontana. Vincenzo Maria Fontana.

"Another local menace?" Val let slip, the first thing to come to her mind. She half gasped, half giggled, hand coming up to cover her mouth. Just in case she'd say something else on impulse. It was hard to fully hide the ridiculous delighted look on her face, though.

She softly cleared her throat. "That is... I feel the same."

How charming! For someone who was only talked about in hushed tones, Valentine Crowther was unexpectedly adorable.

"Local menace?" She found herself repeating, and she had to laugh at that. "I've been called much worse. Those rumors you've heard?" She bent down to whisper into her ear. "All true."

Well, most of them are. Anyone spreading lies about her being kind or wearing bright colors were lies by default. They danced in graceful, easy movements, and for a while, she felt simple and content. It was surprising even to her that she could still manage to feel this way.

She grinned. "We simply must see each other after this and compare notes, darling. I have quite the weak spot for cute girls involved in necromancy and criminal activities." When the chorus of the song ended and the last verse came, the end neared, and Maria wasn't going to leave without a memorable exit. She dipped Valentine and pulled her into a soft kiss, slipping her number inside the front of her dress. She pulled her back up. "I hope that wasn't too forward.

Valentine muffled her giggles again. "It's just a silly nickname, that's all. And, well… I use it sometimes, in my head, simply because it works better than a lot of far too specific terms."

Val looked back and forth, mock conspiratorially, and then winked at Maria. "The same goes for me, once again."

The young necromancer savored their time together, feeling that things were nothing but pleasant, light and easy.

And although that 'comparing notes' could be taken as a joke towards their menace status, it was also a very real magic based possibility, one that made Val feel giddy. She had years of journals and books hoarded for this purpose, that she never really had the chance to share. Because gloomy rich kids like her weren't quite as rich in the friend department, and other, ordinary children couldn't even have offered what she'd wanted.

So she nodded, enthusiastic, along with that suggestion. She had a weak spot for all of this.

Oh, dear, swoon! Val sighed into the kiss, and was disappointed when it had to end. In fact, so much that she tipped up her mask, looking at Maria with large eyes, and leaned up to kiss her again, trying to pull more from it this time, something to hold her off until they could meet again.

"No, not too forward," Val said, a bit breathless, and a tinge flustered. "Thank you. This is… a good halloween."

She was glad they were in agreement, then. She looked forward to having Valentine in private. They had so much in common, if rumors were to be believed. "I feel the same way, love. Parting is such sweet sorrow."

Maria spun Valentine slowly as the last notes of the song closed before finally letting go of her with a wink. As soon as she turned around and walked into the crowd, her foot entered a crack in this dimension, and she was in the party no longer.
