Lochlann sounded more rational and less terrible than Alaude expected, and the fact that he didn't deny the things Alaude said made the latter feel... frustrated? as if he just lost there.

And what should they do? Since Addy was watching... well... they weren't exactly doing anything she'd be angry or jealous of, right? She knew well that they hated each other. She wasn't going to make it a big deal.

Alaude would try not to as well. He had a side he didn't like showing her, and here Lochlann just tasted it. But It wasn't as if he was keeping it a secret. Adelene and Alaude both can drink well and loved it. It's the fact that Lochlann was acting so nonchalant that pissed him off.

Alaude sighed. He was too tired for this. "Yeah, alright. Fine. It doesn't matter."

Although he was also pissed to hear Lochlann say he wasn't going to lie to Adelene. Before walking away, Alaude looked at Lochlann in the eyes, and more than the usual hatred, they were colored with serious concern for his sister, and hostility if his concerns were to happen. "I'll kill you if that's a lie. This, I promise."

"Alright," Lochlann said, when Alaude said fine, and he turned to go once more when Alaude turned around and caught Lochlann in the eye.

While Lochlann had seen the resemblance between Addy and Alaude before, there was something in this serious gaze that made Lochlann understand that they were siblings. Lochlann returned his gaze without flinching. If anything, he seemed relieved.

"I'll give you the gun myself," Lochlann told him.

Now, Lochlann was the one who seemed tired. The conversation with Addy earlier had exhausted him, and Alaude was exhausting as usual. He didn't even want to bother spending the energy thinking about the confused erection he had. He was going to go home, change, and then probably run laps until his mind felt a little bit clearer.

"That's a promise, Alaude," Lochlann said, and he tucked his hands into his pocket and turned to walk away again. He waited until he rounded the corner to exhale in relief and lean against the wall. Lochlann doubled over and tried not to laugh.

Gods, he thought he was going to get his ass kicked there.
