"What?" Evan said, squinting at him. "What's the deal with their powers then? They're just stringing us along?" Oh, he was annoyed now, and he squinted towards the girls.

"Oh shit," Cori muttered under her breath. "I think one of them's got some kind of hearing power, because the redhead's glaring at us. The game might be over already."

She made a point of grinning at the pair, wiggling her fingers at them as if it was just any other day.

"i'm guessing we got... Parent Trapped. They're identical twins with no reason to lie about what their powers do. And no one just makes up powers like that," he growled. "So it has to be who has what... how generic."

"Well what do we do? Do we run? I knew this was a bad idea," Tori was looking towards the exit, then back at Straga and Evan. "My short sweet life is over..."

"Wait, hold on," Evan said with a squint. "You watch Parent Trap? You actually got that reference?"

Because that was the most shocking part of the whole experience.

"They don't look mad," Cori pointed out. "The redhead looks kind of amused. I think we'll just be fine. We could make them do a match for it. Or- oh, two matches?"

"Sometimes I watch wholesome family films. Who hasn't seen that movie? I bet they have," Straga huffed as if Evan's surprise was unfounded and ridiculous.

"If... you say so. just a couple challenges then. Let's just see how it goes," Tori put on a brave face, turned, and started making her way back to Evan and Straga.

It was almost physically difficult to imagine Straga settling down to watch a wholesome family film. Almost, but not quite, and he let out a small snort. "Next time you and the kid have family movie night, you look me up, alright?"

God, wouldn't that be a scene, just him and two scary fucking dragons watching family films.

Cori headed back to the boys with Tori right beside her. Her sister worried a little bit too much, while Cori opted to be more cheek about it.

"So," she said. "You boys heard the whole thing, huh? So how about this - do two challenges, give them the old college try, and then we'll give you your proper powers."

"If you want to," Straga grunted, then gestured to the twins returning. They seemed like they had their game plan all figured out. And Straga was not amused with what he'd heard.

"How about you just right this little wrong of yours. I don't like being tricked, or having my time wasted," there was much more of a growl to the dragon's tone this time. He narrowed his eyes, for a moment considered applying some of his pressure to his words. That had a chance of backfiring though, he thought better of it.

Tori flinched and looked to Cori. She was sure they wouldn't kill them, here at least. But they were still pretty scary.

Evan was definitely the more lighthearted of the two. Mostly because he had time. He had no job, no work to do... He was basically a glorified NEET with a felony on his record. Or did it count since he'd plead it down?

Something to ask his probation officer.

Cori wasn't easily swayed. Probably because she could literally eat anything he threw at them. It wouldn't be the first time someone lobbed a fireball at her and then ended up lost and confused when she bit it out of the air.

"Oh come on," she said. "All in good fun. Like I said, two challenges and we'll swap."

Straga was not amused, not even a smidge. He inhaled and exhaled, keeping any other indicators that he was in a bad mood hidden well under the surface. Cori was still talking like she was the one with the high ground here, but things had changed. The moment they tried to trick them it all went out the window.

"I'm not having fun. If we agree these two challenges will be on our terms. You lost say in the nature of the challenges the moment you came up with this... scheme."

He looked pointedly at Tori, his partner. He almost didn't want to trade with Evan just because she didn't seem to be for this trickery in the first place.

Oooh, Straga was pissed, and Evan knew him well enough to spot it from a mile off. Not that he was going to let it dissuade him. Not when he had shit to do and powers to get.

Because, if he was being honest? He was kind of in it for the powers. He wasn't going to be competing in any wild and whacky tournament or anything like that.

"Our terms," Evan agreed.

Tori looked less than enthused.

"Whats to stop you two from just agreeing to rock paper scissors with each other?" She asked, raising an eyebrow. That seemed like the likely option, at least if she was in their position.

"Nothing, this is the grave you dug. If you were honest I would've gladly taken on any challenges you threw at us. However..." there was a brief flash of his eyes turning reptilian and something in the air shifting. "You tried to play us, and lost. That's just how games go."

"W-we accept!" Tori blurted before anything else could be said.

"Rock, Paper, Scissors does sound like something doable. What do you say, Evan?"
