The Twins

Cori made a face when Straga asked the question. Of course he'd ask it, and Evan let out a small sigh.

"I can let you manipulate the taste of things," Cori said. "My sister can let you eat anything."

Evan didn't really have to think about that. The thought of eating indigestible shit was not appealing to him. The thought of making stuff taste good no matter what? That was appealing.

"Making things taste better seems like a useful power."

It was super not combat. It was absolutely the fact that he could eat nothing but soylent for the rest of his life and make it taste fucking amazing.

If Evan had been slightly less drunk, he might have noticed a bit of a smirk in Cori's smile.

"Sure!" She said, offering her hand to Evan. "We can pact now, we can do a few challenges, and then I'll give you my blessing. It'll be fun."

Evan didn't seem half as enthusiastic as Cori sounded, but he shrugged.

"Sure, I can throw down with the best of them... just as long as it's not fighting."

"Oh no," Cori insisted, wiggling her hand until Evan finally took it. "We're not going to fight. I'm not interested in that kind of thing."

The moment they were pacted, Cori gave a little whistle. Was she going to tell them right then? Heck no. They could figure it out on their own.

"So, you kids want to do a challenge with each other? We could do anything. Play a game of poker or something. Two truths and a lie. Whatever you want."

Straga was shitty at poker? He was filing that one away for future reference, because you never knew when you needed to beat a dragon at something. He'd probably get shitty cards and growl at them, knowing Straga.

"I can do darts," Evan said. "Human capabilities, sure, but I used to play a fair amount of darts. That was one of the things we did when we were locked down."

Cori grinned at her sister, excusing herself from the guys and moving a fair distance off.

"Sure, what's up?" She pretty much knew, but she was going to make Tori say it.

"You're totally going to tell me what they're saying," Evan muttered under his breath. "Because I sure as hell can't hear them."

Cori grinned at her sister, looking perfectly composed. Just as composed as her sister totally wasn't. "They're not going to murder anyone," Cori said. "It'll just be fun. Once we're done having our fun, we can repact and give our blessings, and then it's done. Quick and easy."
