Yoka had an especially firm handshake and she was pleased that Steven's was not limp. Handshakes were something she picked up in America and she found them useful and reassuring to many people even here on the island. It was part of a script she liked to play.

Waking up with a women instead of a fox was distressing, but a hand was reassuring.

"My name is Yoka Sake," she said. As to asking where the fun was in watching a half-naked man flip out, Yoka could only lift her hand to cover her mouth as she uttered a small, demure laugh. She said, "You won't want to know what I do for a living, then."

As to what happened to her, Yoka did drop her hand when she frowned.

"Kidnapping," she said. She said it a little bit too casually, as though this happened often. "I can guess why someone would want to kidnap me, but not who or how they managed to grab me like that. Despite what last night might have implied, I'm usually quite powerful."

She said this last part matter-of-factly, too, and not as if she was bragging. Though her slender eyebrows did knit together into a decisive point before softening.

"Thank you, by the way, for your hospitality," Yoka said. "And your prompt rescue. i don't think I could have outrun them for the rest of the night."

Steven couldn't help but be curious what she did for a living, that his comment caused her to decide not to say. However he decided to let her judgement stand over his curiousity because she could have been right for all he knew. Though it didn't really seem all that important, when she went into what happened to her. "Kidnapped? Are you kidding me?" He was shocked that he had come across such a crime, and helped her in the aftermath. "Who...why?" Steven said, knowing that most cases of kidnapping had some reason behind them.

He was slightly concerned that he had gotten involved with something he shouldn't. If she was as powerful as she said, and had managed to be subdued. If her kidnappers ended up barging down the door and trying to take her by force, he doubted he would be much in the way of help. "Well I'm glad I was of help." Steven said nodding at her calmly, not protraying the worry about the whole event. "Are you really going to be okay with such little in the way of medical aid?" He asked her, he had been expecting to have to look after her in fox form for at least a few days. Though maybe part of the power of her she mentiomed was healing quickly.

"Both are great questions," Yoka admitted with another frown of her plump lips. It rather looked like she was pouting, but the expression on her amber eyes were serious.

"Usually it's money, sex, or magic," Yoka said. "In this case, I don't get the impression it was any of these things. I barely even saw my attackers. one minute I was leaving work, the next I was suddenly a fox and shoved into a bag."

She said the last part with more emotion than she'd said the kidnapping, as if being held against her will was okay but putting her in a bag was just completely demoralizing.

Yoka considered his question about medical aid. She was sitting on the chair yet, so it hadn't quite dawned on her that she might not actually be feeling so great on her feet later.

Yoka reached down and touched her leg, then flinched.

"Well, it will heal fast, but it'd be much faster if I could get to my staff healer without being worried about being shoved in a bag again," she frowned. " I don't suppose you know anyone with a gift for medicine?"

Her reply to his question about the kinapping only served to confuse Steven more. While they could have been a general statement about why people might try to kidnap someone, the way she said them made it almost sound like attempted kidnapping was a common occurance for her. Though he was confused even further when she explained, that she didn' think it was any of the reasons she had given. Unsure what to say really, he simple watched as she tested her damaged leg, and ended up asking him if he knew anyone who could tend to it.

"Sadly apart from my basic first aid knowledge, I really don't know anyone. I suppose the school must have a infirmary or nurse office somewhere but I haven't actually seen it yet." Steven awnsered her question, though it made him feel slightly foolish for not bothering to look up a map of the school except for how to get to his classes. "If you have someone you trust to tend to you though, perhaps they are a better bet." He knew though she was worried at simply being attacked again on route.

"I could escort you there, but I'm not sure how much defense I would be against someone who so easily over powered you." He offered with a side of realism. She didn't know what they were capable of, and neither did he.

"That's what I'm worried about, although I do appreciate the gallant offer," Yoka said. She tapped her nails off the arm of the chair for a moment while she thought.

Her long legs were crossed and she anticipated she could put weight on it long enough to walk. There was no hiding the wound, unless she could persuade the young man to let her borrow a pair of pants, but Yoka wasn't sure if she had enough energy to transform her appearance into a man or to someone else.

She needed more time to think.

Instead, she decided to deal with the only issue she could feasibly resolve right now.

"You know in stories, if you rescue a magical animal, they are almost bound to offer you a gift of some kind," Yoka said. "I believe you are in my debt and I do like to live up to the reputation of the animals in the stories. They're quite inspirational. Is there something I could perhaps offer you?"

Steven smiled at Yoka as she mentioned old stories, he had read a few novels and tales like those she decribed. They had been enjoyable stories at least. Though it did leave Steven in a odd position. He didn't really know her, nor knew what was a reasonable or even plausible request to make of her. "I'd honestly have to think about it." Steven replied throwing on the last few pieces of clothes such as his socks and jacket, and then sitting down on the bed. "Though the offer is a nice one, if I think of anything I'll be sure to let you know."

Steven reached out and grabbed the first aid kit from last night and pulled it over. "However if we not going to risk getting you to a healer, I think it a good idea if I at least give you leg and face a look over." Steven said, clicking the box over with one hand and patting the bed next to him with the other.

"Then maybe we can call someone you know and have them swing round here by car. It would be safey then walking." Steven suggested pulling his mobile out of the pocket of his jacket for her to use. Not finding it likely she had a phone on her.

Yoka did not want to admit it, but she was a little disgruntled that he didn't just...have a wish she could try to fulfil. That meant he'd think about it, and maybe he'd be one of those that would come up with a really thoughtful, life-saving wish at the pivital moment in his story.

Fuck.

Yoka was hoping he'd ask for something impulsively so she could give him what he asked for but also make it interesting. Thinking meant less of a chance for interseting.

"Very well," she said.

When he patted the bed next to her, Yoka couldn't deny that he was right. She hobbled over and sat down on the edge, lifting her long, smooth lake and placing it ontop his lap.

That was a plus side about being a magical creature: never having to shave.

She decided to consider who she could call. She'd lost her assistant but perhaps....

She had an intern.

Maybe he could come pick her up.

"I don't suppose you'd have a cell phone I could borrow?" Yoka asked him.

Steven watched with concern as Yoka moved over to the bed. Gently he placed a hand on her leg after she put it up on his lap. Making sure to do so away from the wound, and mostly as a means to signel to her not to move rather then hold her in place. He smiled at her and passed the mobile over to her when she asked. "There should be enough credit to make calls." He replied, before reaching into the forst aid kit and pull out an alcahol wipe. "Though you might want to wait as this could sting a little." He suggested not knowing how the clearly non-human women might react, but being on the side of caution.

Tearing the wipes packet open with his teeth and pulling the wipe free and letting the packet simply drop to the bed sheets. Carefully Steven then cleaned around the wound on her leg. While it seemed to be in a better state then it had when she was a fox last night. Steven knew that allowing a wound to go uncleaned could be bad. Once he was sure that it had been cleaned well enough, he wrapped it in a banadage. Not too tightly but enough that it would prevent serious bleeding if she managed to reopen it while moving. He had no idea if he was being overly cautions, she could be well again by the end of the day while if it was him the damage was one that could take at least a week to heal. It showed how frail human were compared to other residence of the island. "Hopefully that will be fine." He said once he had finished. Placing his hand gently on her thigh again in a reassuring manner before patting it as a signel that she could move her leg away.

"Here." He said passing her another of the small packaged wipes, so that if she felt the need to she could clean her face and the cut she had suffered there. The wasn't much he could do beyond that, but luckily they didn't seem as dire as the leg one was.

"Thank you," Yoka said.

She was surprisingly still as he tended to her wounds. It hurt, of course, but she didn't live to five hundred without a series of injuries this bad or worse. She held his mobile in one hand and accepted the wipe with the other. She dabbed at her face with the wipe and did scrunch up her nose in distaste when she needed to dab at the area closest to her face, but Yoka was still pleased with the result. Her face would heel much faster than her leg.

"I believe it will be," Yoka said. "Thank you again for your assistance."

She used his phone to dial a quick phone call, chatted briefly and quickly on the phone in Japanese, and then clicked it off and handed it back to him.

"You will be reimbursed, of course, for the phone call," Yoka said. She'd forgotten to swing her leg down during the call and did so now.

"May I ask you a question regarding what you did last night?" Yoka said. "With the ice and the fire? Is that innate or are you also a creature of inhuman nature?"

She was curious, because perhaps it would help her provide an example of what she could provide him in exchange for his help--and silence.

Steven tried to listen in discretely as Yoka made her call, but from being able to pick out the occasional word that he happened to know he really didn't manage to gleam much from it. It was a shame that thing had ended up landing him on this island. Steven did have a love of languages but they had completely dropped off as a subject of study for him, since his power manifested. They didn't seem as important as all the new never explored subjects he was now able to look into. He had noticed that she hadn't pulled her leg down though while she was talking. So his hand ended up resting on it, until she finally pulled away and told him she repay the credit used on his phone. "No need for that, it isn't likely to break the bank." Steven politely rejected the sentiment, only to be taken off guard by her question.

Letting himself fall backwards, laying across the width of the bed his legs dangling over the edge. Steven though about the implications of the question, and the embarresing fact that he hadn't given their origin as much thought as should have. "I'm human..." he sighed. "Well as far as I'm aware. My power showed up while someone was trying to kill me. Saved my skin really, even if it didn't save me from pain." He finished explaining, not completely sure why he was anwsering so much. He didn't know if she had noticed his scar on his back. Though it was something he was self consious about. A permenent scar showing his folly. "Genetic evolution or mutation, or perhaps a form of mental elemental kinesis." He mused in a muttered tone.
