As the snow began to melt away from the streets of the underground, the already bustling crowds generated an aura of excitement. The light faded from the sky only to be replaced by that of lanterns, candles, electric lights, and other sources of illumination. The smell of roasting food began to saturate the air as residents set up stalls alongside the tents of the fortune tellers. The sounds of music being played by performers was only overshadowed by the hawking of wares and the beckoning of those that could read the cards, throw the bones, and peer into the ether of time.
Yes, the fortune festival was in full swing, ready to great any student, staff, or citizen of the island to it's revelry.

Emily Kirkpatrick
The shy girl licked her lips as she fidgeted behind the table of her small booth. She had set up along side the many other, more experienced fortune tellers on the street in the hopes that she could help someone and maybe make some extra money. She had dressed the part, a loose, black robe draped over her and held in place with beads, and she had her tarot cards out on the table. The taste of emotions emanating off the many people crowding the street washed over her. It wasn't an unpleasant sensation, but it was certainly overwhelming.
She wasn't even sure what she was going to charge people. In the end, she'd probably just end up asking what people were willing to pay for the fortune. Her eyes drifted down to the deck of cards in front of her. Yes, that would probably be best.
Someone entered her stall and she glanced back up in a slight panic. "A-Ah... H-Hello!... W-Would you care to s-see what the future holds for you?... O-Or... Or p-perhaps there's something e-e-else you'd like m-me to divine...?"
Diam
The small figure held a black parasol over his head as he wandered through the crowd, occasionally glancing up at the sky to watch as the final rays of the day vanished over the horizon. His dark eyes drifted over the crowd, silently observing as they reveled in thoughts of the present and speculated at the future.
Diam hadn't put much stock in the words of fortune tellers for a while now. It wasn't that he disbelieved their abilities. It was more like he knew that he'd see the truth of the future for himself soon enough. Drawing in the parasol and folding it back into it's compressed state, the vampire found his way over to a bench and seated himself. Even if the fortunes weren't worth his time, they would hopefully prove amusing.
