Teens, Whales, and Mwhhhhas

Noelle had never had a pet. She was too busy with school and power training back at home to get one. She wondered into the abnormal pet shop just to view. Well actually, her parents had sent her extra money and told her to buy a pet because they knew she didn't have a roommate and they thought she should have company. Thanks Mom and Dad she thought.

She looked around casually. She knew what kind of pet she didn't want. She looked around at hoping to find a really special pet. She walked up to a spot that had a sign on it. Baby alien creature! 70.00! The poor little thing was crying and Noelle felt terrible for it. As a matter of fact, she couldn't pull herself away. She wondered what kind of creature it was. It looked like a baby, with a few different features and the more it seemed in distress, the worse she felt. She could adopt it. That's what she came for after all. No no, she came for a pet, not a baby. But he was also an alien, maybe he had super intelligence or something. And how did she know it was a guy? He was covered in a blanket with a diaper on, hopefully.

She bent her face towards the container and furrowed her eyebrows.
"Hey little guy...are you a guy? What kind of creature are you anyway?" She stopped talking. It was a baby, it couldn't answer back, could it?

Noelle watched the baby creature. After she finished speaking he seemed to try to answer but his response was just noise, what you would expect. He shifted around until a tag with more information appeared. It told his name, age, gender, and date of birth. Okay, he was a three month old male named Fiiiiiiii.

"Fiiiiiii." She said, trying out the name. She had done babysitting in the past, at the academy and she felt confident that she could take care of him, but to be his parent? What would she do with him during classes? Would all her time be taken up with his care? Was she allowed go house him and did she have room? She stopped for a second and imagined herself varying around places. What would people think of her? She loved her independence, what would happen.

Why am I even considering this, I should just go. But something in her would not let her go. She sighed and looked at the information again. She could afford the purchase price but what about his care.?She took a look into his eyes and knew what she had to do. She walked away from Fii. She slowly made her way toward the exit area. But that was not her destination. She headed over to the desk. She had to ask the workers about Fii.

Noelle smiled politely as the worker greeted her very enthusiastically. She wondered how much he got paid for that attitude. Oh yeah, and the work too. If it was good pay, she might even considering being a cheerful employee. Well, enough of that.

"Yes, I was wondering if you could tell me anything else about Fiiiiiiii the alien creature over there, like how you found him? And do you have tips on his care? Food, nap times, clothes toys those kinds of things? And what kind of alien is he?"

She inwardly laughed. Back where she lived, adopting an animal was a simple process. You pick out the animal, sign papers, maybe make calls for references and set up vet stuff and that was that. But here things were much more complicated. She was looking to adopt and alien creature in the form of a baby!

Noelle grimaced at the worker's awkward laugh but listened carefully as he spoke. Ocean, giant purple thing, bigger than a blue whale. Wait what? Her baby was a giant alien...purple whale like thing? Wait. Her baby? Pay attention. He only likes krill and he floats sometimes. Great. Fiiiiiiii had expensive taste. Where was she going to find a lot of krill to feed an alien baby that might be an oversized whale?

Take a leap of faith, Noelle. Fiiiiiiii needs you. You must adopt him as your own now. Oh look, there's an opportunity to be a normal student, oh whoops, there it goes, out the door. Forget that, normal is lame.

" I-I'd like to take him... please. I mean, adopt him and stuff." Here goes nothing and yet everything.
