Everyone that was a veteran at Sugarpop Corner knew that Abia Defan was a scary woman. While she was a benevolent boss that paid her workers well and gave nice benefits, she had several no-nos that would easily set her off. Don't fuck up too much, don't steal from her, don't deal drugs to kids. If you followed these three rules, then the chance of having a problem with Abia was minimal. The only possible way to have an issue with her then was to be on the side of her enemies, and it was a side that was not fun to be on.

Today was inspection day at the bakery. About an hour before the afternoon rush, Abia would come in to personally oversee operations. She would check out how the workers were doing in both the main bakery and the special pie room. She checked the kitchens to be sure the goods were baked to perfection, and she liked sticking around a bit into the afternoon rush either openly or secretly so that she could see how the customers were treated. Inventory of the supplies was especially checked to make sure no one was running off with bags of heroin or something.

The drug lord stepped in wearing the most ridiculously pink dress one could ever see. It was more summer oriented and was adorned with huge pink sunglasses and a cute purse. She looked outrageous enough to laugh at, but no one called Abia out on her crazy Barbie look. No one. At least not usually.

"I'm HERE!~ It's time for inspection, dearies!"

As she was not a veteran at Sugarpop corner- quite the contrary, actually, as she had just started working there-, Margaret had no clues as to what her boss was like. Thankfully, she also didn't care, so that solved any sort of anxiety or curiosity problem she may have had otherwise. All she knew so far was that she was allowed to bake things, even new things she never thought she'd bake, and that she got paid for it. Nothing else really mattered to her.

In the meantime, said boss was “here”, as she so nicely put it. And what was here was probably some sort of fashion disaster, though fashion wasn't exactly one of Margaret's field of expertise. She vaguely remembered classmates in high school telling her all about it, but she also recalled not listening because honestly; it was boring as hell. Besides, as long as her boss paid her, she could as well come in dressed as a playboy bunny or in a space suit, it'd all be cool in the young cook's books. Same went for being called “dearies”. Unusual, but not especially a problem.

She had no clues of what an inspection entailed either; probably checking stocks and making sure nobody was lazing around or something. Margaret didn't especially fear it- while she was, indeed, a very lazy individual, one of the rare times it didn't apply was when she was cooking. Or baking. Food was too important not to take seriously, and she could prove to be a pretty hard worker when it came down to it. The one thing she was more worried about right now was etiquette related.

It'd be kind of annoying to stop what she was doing to greet the boss. Then again, it'd probably be a lot more trouble to ignore the boss and piss her off. It was kind of her first day after all, and it'd be good to make a nice first impression. Which was why she gave her all her attention, even going as far as to talk.

“Hello.”

Well that wasn't very convincing. She muttered a small:
“well, I mean.”
to herself, before speaking up once more.

“Hello, Ma'am, I am the new cook.”

There, that was better and more professional and whatever else she had to do to keep on working here in peace. Unless of course she preferred to be called miss, or didn't like her employees speaking up when not prompted. What was done was done now.
