Ellyn sat at one of the island's bus stations. The streetlights were only just coming on, the nearing winter having made the sun set earlier than usual. She'd have been here earlier but had managed to get just a tad lost. Now, she was waiting at the stop, seated on a bench, for the bus to come back around and take her to Starlight Academy.

Night had become a dangerous time as of recently. More murders were popping up. Cute girls around her age, anywhere from thirteen to eighteen, or so, it seemed. Even the campus wasn't completely safe. That girl, Melony whatever had gone missing, hadn't she? Never to be found. There were far too many serial killers around this island.

When Ellyn had first arrived here, she'd been all starry-eyed, but now she saw this island had a way of creating monsters or bringing them out when they would have hidden better before. With that thought, the girl pulled her knees to her chest and cradled her backpack between her knees and her chest. When she breathed out, there was the barest hint of steam. She was smart to have brought a jacket.

Looking up and down the street, Ellyn could see there was an eery stillness. It wasn't so much that no one was around — that rarely happened on the island — but it was quiet. Earsplittingly so. The nightlife wasn't fully active yet, and the people who stayed awake during the day were heading home or into noisy clubs. There was the safety of numbers in this places and that knowledge made Ellyn feel even more along than she really was.

Without thinking why the girl pulled out her phone and sent her mother a text about how much she loved her and missed her. Promised to call later, when she was home and the signal was better. She smiled down at the screen.

It was funny. Despite the whispers, people still managed to end up alone at night. As much as Logan questioned that, he'd never complain about it. The setting was October, streetlights slowly flickering to life, crisp leaves underfoot. A beautiful month for dressing up like a freak and skulking about for someone to turn into a slasher movie victim. It was different, for him, his usual being more slow burn, manipulation based tactics, but not a bad sort of different. Sometimes, it was simply necessary. He wasn't about to let Student Council Vice President Logan Delacroix be caught on a security camera, leading poor, pretty girls away to their deaths and dismemberments. No, no. The Bunny Butcher and his mentor would be responsible for that.

He shivered, from the cold and anticipation. There was never a lack of prey in this godforsaken fucking city. He simply watched at first, through his red tinged vision, the glassy eyes of the white rabbit mask. He recognized that girl, the way her red hair curled charmingly near her face. An Academy darling, all alone. She was a library assistant and a tutor, friendly enough for decent familiarity, smart and confident. He liked that, and in another life, would've been worried about her giving him trouble. Here, he was perfectly eager to use his sedation power and snatch up classroom eye candy. Pretty, pretty, pretty girl. She'd be prettier as a hot mess.

Maybe, before that, she'd run. Logan stayed in the shadows for a moment longer, watching. Keeping an eye on that phone. Didn't want the police called, but at the same time, she was paying attention to that and not her surroundings. She was too sharp. She'd been looking up and around, a moment ago. It was true that this was a risk, but he still wasn't concerned. He had a partner in this, after all. He had his dad to watch his back. With that, the uncanny valley bun came forward, steps barely audible. A streetlight switched on above him when he was close to Ellyn. And if she ran from him, she'd run right into his father. The rabbit tilted his head, and while she was hopefully stunned by the sight of him, reached out to rip her phone away. He wanted to hear it crack under his boot.

Ellyn's attention snapped immediately to Logan when the streetlamp switched on. She was stunned, pretty fucking shocked to see a creepy bunny staring her down, head tilted. It was comically like one of those B-rate horror movies. Only this was very real. Real and terrifying in a way you could never see on a film screen.

Ellyn thought it had to be a joke at first until he took her phone and smashed it on the ground. Ellyn had already stood because fuck being trapped between that and the back of the bus seat.

Too dark. Too close. Too panicked. She had to calm down and keep him in her line of sight. Ellyn would have liked to say she didn't run, but that would be one big fat lie too many. Once she was a good deal out of his way, she turned and booked it.

It was strange to Ellyn. Only one of them? Hadn't the newspapers and pamphlets at school mentioned two? That wasn't the original butcher, Ellyn hadn't been at Starlight long, but she knew enough to know that, from the recent uproar over all the horror and death.

It wasn't looking good, having to keep watch for two murderers. That meant either the bunny was hunting alone tonight, or the other one was around.

See, any good farmer boy knew how to herd little piggies. The easiest way was to have a dog chase them into the slaughtering house, distract them with a small threat and lead them into the bigger one.

Not that Billy would ever suggest Logan was a small threat. But there was an art form to this shit, almost poetic, if he cared about these things.

Logan didn't chase. That wasn't his job. Billy snapped his hand forward like a viper waiting to catch his prey, and with trained ease, grabbed Ellyn's arm. With just small touch, he sapped all the strength in her body but left her conscious so she could, y'know, see where she was going. A better place, where pigs go to die!

"Oink oink. We're gonna roast a little piggie tonight!" Billy laughed as he hauled her over his shoulders like a sack of potatoes. Once she was secure, he stepped out of the alley and gestured for Logan to meet him back at the base.

Billy didn't fuck around now that he had his prey. He moved through the shadows with ease, entered the third kitchen through the alleyways, a dilapidated warehouse deep in the Underground. He dropped Ellyn on the operating table and took off his mask, rubbing his nose.

"Ugh. Smells like shit." He picked up a can of air freshener and sprayed it on himself and Ellyn. He put on some gloves and rubbed his hands together, practically salivating at the sight of her. Since Logan wasn't here yet... Billy ripped off her clothes with a hungry look in his eyes and had his way with her, then placed her back spread out on the table.

Ellyn screamed when her arm was grabbed, but the sound quickly strangled with the sudden influx of sedative magic coursing through her limbs. She wished she could have blacked out, forgotten, or had an out of body experience, but she didn't. She felt herself get picked up and snuck through dark alleys into some sort of kitchen.

For Ellyn, sound was muffled, like she was under water. She couldn't focus on what the man was saying, but his tone of voice still had her stomach doing uncomfortable flips. She gave a choked sob, closed her eyes, and pretended to be anywhere but there.

She imagined being home, in her dorm with her awful roommate and sleeping in her bed. The safety of her room. A phone in her hand as she called her family. Anything but grubby hands fondling her. Or the emptiness settling in her very core. Strangely, she prayed for an end before she prayed to get away. Like an animal in a trap, she knew there was no escaping this. The best she could hope for was a quick end because trying to figure out where things were going to go from here wouldn't smother away the panic or nausea.

She didn't scream when she started to run. Logan smiled and relaxed. There was no need for urgency here. He lifted his foot from the phone and brushed the broken pieces under where Ellyn had been sitting. He followed along leisurely, after that, watching but not invested in being the one doing the catching. Stood casually and did a little quiet clapping, when a jerk happened in his line of vision. Even with the darkness out here, he could tell what had happened as Ellyn finally screeched and began to go utterly limp. It was always so satisfying to see a person be pulled and tossed around like a ragdoll.

Trailing up to them, Logan snorted quietly at his dad. And to think, he'd been thought of as silly for suggesting their costumes and masks. Billy was completely into it! Not going along with the themes to please Logan, like he'd originally claimed, but instead dramatic in his own right. Ridiculous. Still, though, it was exciting. Meat was their calling. He bounced on his feet like Jeanette would've, and nodded to Billy before turning to go a different way, the longer route. Made them less likely to be caught.

He also knew his dad liked to have special bonding time with the victims. Logan only watched some of the time. It depended what his levels of shame and morality were in the moment, and they fluctuated. He didn't feel like it right then. Perhaps it was because he knew Ellyn. There was an extra oddness to it when he knew them. The attraction to what occured got dirtier than it already was.

He looked up at the warehouse when he got to it. He'd barely had much time adjusting to the second kitchen, and now, after Felix Verma and his friend had found them, the third was their new base. At least this wouldn't be searched out as easily. Logan wanted some time to actually settle in and grow comfortable here. He slipped inside.

Ellyn was in about the condition he would've expected. Despite seeing women, men, people he was familiar with and unfamiliar with, on tables and broken, the effect of it never really went away. After staring, Logan took off his rabbit mask, feeling his horn pop back up without the magic smushing it down, and shook off his hair until it was fluffy again. He brushed his fingers over his heated, red cheeks, then scrubbed at the blush until it faded a bit.

"…Hello, Miss Korvyn," Logan murmured, reaching out to touch her pretty red hair, eyes drifting once more-- though he didn't seem to be doing anything aside from taking it in. He cleared his throat and took a step back, appearing almost embarrassed with himself, but sneaking side glances. He started off like that, occasionally, though it was only temporary, reflex reactions. The nasty part of him would win, even if he didn't go as far as his father. Logan wasn't a rapist, but he liked to touch, and thought pretty people were prettiest when broken.
