The next morning Rae tried opening her eyelids but it took too much strength. The memory of what had happened the night before came flooding back into her mind. She opened her mouth to try to speak, but her lips only parted barely a centimeter nd the only sound that escaped was a very small whine.

Inside her mind she felt a strong tug to go back to sleep, so without further ado she slipped back asleep.

The dreams Paul had intensified. Ever since Corona had first spoken to him he had such weird dreams on occasion. He couldn't figure them out, but he was always fighting such terrible nightmare-ish creatures. But now they began to make more sense. The sword of light he wielded was the Dreamsabre - Corona's weapon. In the dreams, he must have been Corona. Was Corona's memories flooding into his mind and allowing him to have dreams about Corona's life? He wasn't sure.. but Corona never answered him when he asked.

He awakened slowly the next day with a bit of a headache. His body was also a bit sore. He wasn't sure why, but he blamed it on the rock floor he slept on. He noticed Rae still asleep nearby. He could tell the sun was up because of the dim amount of light in the cave. He decided to stand and walk outside, nothing seemed out of the ordinary. Maybe he should try and get some food?

He had little clue about survival in the wildlife, now that he thought about it. The Guardian's Blade couldn't even cut living flesh. And he wasn't about to knock some deer unconscious and beat it to death or some other barbaric thing. Looks like he was left to collecting berries...

(Now you've put a funny image in my mind. I can just picture him knocking a deer over like a football player and then getting a tick and beating it to death...)

Rae again awakened slowly. This time her eyelids could open, but they felt very heavy. She couldn't sit up, so she moved her eyes around the cave. With what little light there was, Rae saw that Paul wasn't there. Maybe he had never come back last night. But then again, who was that figure I saw? Was he the one who brought me back?

He picked a couple berries from a bush and tasted them. Corona said it wasn't poisonous. And he had found several bushes worth of them and gathered a bunch in his shirt.

"Hurray! Food!" He took them back to the cave, afraid of what Rae would think if she woke up to not find him there.

Rae heard someone walking and lifted her head an inch off the ground to investigate. "Who's out there?" She trid calling, but it only came out as a whisper.

Rae felt the need to cough but couldn't because she didn't have enough strength. "I...I don't have any strength left," she whispered as she gazed up at him with pain filled eyes.

Rae nodded as best as she could but said, "But I cannot swallow for I can hardly breathe...so I would choke." She opened her mouth as wide as she could and took a slow, deep breath.

"So..you can't eat then..."

Should we stay here another night? Or should I try carrying her back?
Its dangerous no matter what you do.. but you probably stand a better chance of surviving another night in the cave. If you don't make it back to the school by sundown, there may not be another safe place. You are probably better off waiting for her to recover..

"..How long will it take for you to recover?" He sat next to her, unsure of whether or not he should eat. He found it unfair to her, but he would need energy if something attacked them..
