It wasn't fair. All Lux did was explore other planets. His race had strict rules and regulations, and leaving the star in which they inhabited was a crime. A crime that was punishable by being exiled to a less developed part of the universe - in this case, Earth.

He was encased in a small capsule, only just big enough for him to move around, with his mischevious family pet, Leora. The two were inseperable. So inseperable that she was able to join him for his 500 year sentence.

The pod slowed down before it jolted to a stop with a loud bang. After a second of silence, the door opened, but as soon as any light poured in, Lux's hands emmit a bright glow that shot out from it, blasting the door off. Both Leora and Lux drifted out of the gap to reveal the world which would now be their residence.

Gryphon knew these woods very well, and even that was an understatement. When he wasn't socialising or at work, he was usually in amongst the greenery and the animals. He felt very at home there; the air was fresh and clean and it was usually peaceful.

Usually. Today was greatly different from usual.

Gryphon was walking, feeling the grass on the soles of his feet when he heard... something. And then he heard a loud bang, which would be enough to make anyone worried. Feeling flighty but curious, he headed towards the noise with some haste, only to see some sort of a... pod? Okay, he was used to the unexpected, but this was something else. He stayed carefully put behind a nearby tree, which then he snatched behind as the door to this pod flew off with great force. He hesitated for a moment before looking out again.

A gold man. And a puff of light. Odd, but he had seen a lot weirder. Gathering some courage, and hoping that this 'new arrival' wasn't hostile, Gryph stepped out in the direction of the man, stopping with a good amount of distance between them. "You know," He said, with good volume to his voice, "Most people would just take the bus." He gave the glowing figure a warm smile.

Lux turned to where the voice came from. The person's race looked similar to his, only not as golden. His skin did not shine in the light and his features were more than just two colours. His clothes were also shades that were unknown on his planet. Looking down, he knew he would not fit in here with his appearance and clothes. It was very bizarre to Lux. His surroundings were completely different to his home, shades of green and brown instead of red and yellow.

He just sort of looked at the person, presuming it was a joke but had no idea what a 'bus' was. Leora zoomed around the man playfully, encircling him. She was very mischevious, always getting into trouble and bringing it to Lux, but she was also very friendly. "I'm sorry. I don't know what you are on about."

Well... he didn't seem to be too threatening. That was a good sign. Gryphon ruffled his wings behind his back uncomfortably, still unsure about how to respond. He looked back up at the figure, wondering if he had been here before. There were a fair few aliens around, it wasn't abstract to consider he might have returned from somewhere out in the wide unknown.

Gryph watched the light travel around him with some trepidation, but didn't try to touch it, only shifting a little on his feet and readjusting his wings again and letting the light do its business. His assumption was that the being up above had control over the little bubble. Gryphon continued to smile, "I'm guessing that means you've not been here before." He said, curiously. "Well, at least you landed here and not anywhere else." He placed his hands in his pockets, hazarding a couple of steps forward. "You are... very bright." He said, stating the obvious. He wasn't sure what else to do, except maybe ask if the glowing man needed some kind of shelter.

This being also appeared to have wings. He had seen beings with wings before but not like his. Some of his people had wings comprised of pure light, though Lux could fly without the need of any wings.

In response to his statement, Lux said, "I haven't." He was not one to say much, often responding with short answers or gestures. Once again, he was unsure what he meant about landing where he did rather than somewhere else.

Was this person stating the obvious or complimenting him? "Erm...thank you. I am Lux," he started as Leora shot back to him, leaving the man alone. "And this is Leora." The ball of light shone brighter for a second and hovered close to Lux's shoulder.

It was curious to see how this being levitated in the air with no additional aids. Considering Gryphon had to train hard to even use his wings properly, seeing it that effortless was always mind boggling.

Gryph tilted his head at how little this being spoke. Maybe he didn't know much English? The avian man was surprised he knew any at all, if he had never been here before. Gryphon just nodded in response, and then smiled as the man introduced himself, and the ball of light. "Lux. Short and sweet, I like it. I'm Gryphon. Matsuoka." Maybe they didn't have surnames where Lux was from? "Nice to meet you." The winged man regarded the ball of light for a moment, "So... what-- who is Leora?" He knew it was the puff of light, but... he didn't quite understand what it (or she, he wasn't sure) was.

"By the way, I'm not the only person on this planet, I promise. Uhh..." Gryphon hesitated, uncertain. He hadn't been faced with a situation like this one before. "What are you doing here?" He asked, hoping he didn't seem rude.

"It is nice to meet you too." He drifted down to the ground, Leora staying at his shoulder, and offered his hand to Gryphon. "Leora is my pet. She comes with me everywhere." Lux guessed that they did not have beings like Leora here either, though her race was quite common back home. She had the ability to turn into any other small being, whilst still looking like she was made of light.

"I was exiled here for being 'too adventurous'. So they sent me to another planet for exploring space, which makes no sense." He was still bitter about the whole thing. 500 years he had to live out his sentence. Granted, that wasn't long for him, but he still held a grudge against them for it. They had a device put on him so could not leave Earth's atmosphere until his time was done.

Gryphon found that as Lux glided down to land, he still had to look up to look at his face. Still, he smiled and took the glowing man's hand confidently, giving it a solid shake. "Oh." That was all Gryph could manage at first when Lux explained who Leora was. He tilted his head a little before glancing in the direction of the dot and smiling, "She sounds very loyal." His smile and charm was trying to hide his confusion that the floating light bubble thing had a conscience. He had never seen anything like it, and that was a first.

The winged man let out a short laugh once Lux finished explaining, shaking his head slightly, "Yeah, that... does not make sense." He looked down, thinking, before looking up to meet Lux's eyes, if they met his, "I'd just... mind that you're not too adventurous here either. Sorry to be a downer but... off of this island..." Gryphon sighed, moving his wings gently, "They aren't aware that anything else exists but themselves, really. And they don't all look like me - not many people do."

With that, Gryph glanced in the direction he had originally come from, "So," He began, before looking at Lux again, "What are you gonna do? If you didn't intend to be here in the first place."

"She is," he replied. Lux stood and listened whilst the man talked, noting all of his suggestions. "Well, I hope they are all as kind as you." Lux was kind of thankful that the first face he saw was that of someone polite and friendly, not something he had to fight; he wasn't in the mood after his journey.

He had to pause for a moment. The idea of what he was actually going to do once he arrived hadn't really been planned out. Did this world have a currency system? Did he have to fight for what he wanted? He was not one for violence, preferring to find a peaceful resolution to any problem or just not getting involved at all.

"I...I don't really know. I probably need an accomadation and-" he gestures to his odd clothes and bare feet, "maybe some new attire." Though, this man seemed to be barefoot, so maybe that was a custom on Earth too.

Gryphon scratched his head, smiling to himself, "Thanks, heh, but... I know, if I was you, the last thing I would want is confrontation right now." Heck, Gryph wasn't one for confrontation ever but some people weren't like that. And he found if you were kind to people, they usually struggled to be cruel in return.

The avian man let Lux think; being thrown into a completely different world had to be jarring. He nodded, "Well, while you're getting settled, they might be able to give you somewhere at the Academy, or..." Gryph really wasn't sure, "...I mean, you could stay at my apartment - my home - until you have somewhere of your own. As for clothes, well..." Gryphon hummed, going behind the tree he had hidden behind to grab his shoes, which he had dropped in all of the madness. He put the sandals on, resting on the tree, as he thought.

"Y'see, you have to, to buy stuff here." He explained, pausing again as he straightened up, regarding Lux and Leora again. "You won't seem odd here. Believe me, there are so many different people and creatures around that you'll fit right in." Gryph motioned towards the way out of the woods, tucking his wings against his back as he began to maneuver the foliage.
