Lux was a little taken back by the offer, Gryph was even nicer than he originally thought. "Would....would you really let me stay with you?" he asked. Watching the man put on his sandals, Lux guessed that people on Earth wore foot protection, or this was an exception. He did say not many people looked like him. Maybe that was true for his clothes too?

He was comforted that he wouldn't stand out on the island, and that Gryph was willing to give him refuge. After all, he had no money, which he was told that was how he would go about aquiring things. He nodded to what he was told and followed Gryph through the thicket.

"Yes." Gryphon said, with less hesitation than before. The last thing he wanted to do was leave Lux stranded, it wouldn't really be possible. Of course, that kind of worry and care Gryph held for the people around him, even strangers, was dangerous when it came to offers like this one. The circumstances, however, made it a lot easier to decide. Lux seemed genuine and the avian man knew how guilty he would feel if he didn't help him out. "I've got a spare bed. It might not be luxury but..." But it was certainly better than the street.

As they walked, Gryph slipped his hands in his pockets, pulling one back out with his phone in hand. He loaded up his bank details and checked his balances, and... yeah, he would be fine supporting Lux for a while. He had no idea how he was going to help him get his own money though. He put his phone away again, "So, uh... what's on your mind?" He asked, "Any you want to know about... well, Earth?"

"I don't care about luxury, I'm just grateful that you offered a roof over my head." Lux didn't really want to be living outside on an unknown planet. He had no idea what creatures inhabited it or what the weather conditions were like.

Looking over at Gryph as he walked, he noticed some sort of device in his hand. He didn't ask what it was but he studied it before it was returned to it's pocket. "One thing: how do I acquire currency on this planet? I don't want to intrude for too long." Not wanting to outstay his welcome, Lux wanted to be out of the person's hair and live an independant life.

The teacher just smiled back in response, understanding. Any bed was better than no bed - and what Gryphon was offering was not bad whatsoever. He blinked at the question, continuing to walk with unfailing confidence in his direction, as the grassy enclosure began to turn into a more clear pathway, "For money, you would need a job, which... should be fairly easy, if you're intelligent." He glanced at Lux with a warm grin, "I mean, I'm not too smart and I have a job." Granted, his job didn't involve the mind too much, but it was work all the same. "You won't be intruding, though. It'll be like a sleepover." He said, brightly and with a joking tone, "A very extended sleepover."

After walking for a little while longer, the trees began to dissipate a more and more, with a well trodden path paved on the ground. Gryph was a bit concerned about Lux's barefeet, but if he was barefoot most of his life, which Gryphon assumed he had been, he would probably managing a gritty path. The winged man paused once he could spot a few houses nearby and turned back to Lux, "It's still a bit of a way from here, do you want to fly? It might be quicker." He said, with a tilt of the head.

A job? What sort of things could he do as a job here? He was decent at fighting, but that was something he wanted to avoid, being a pacifist. The idea that he was welcome and not intruding also comforted him. He actually understood his humour this time and laughed a small outwards breath laugh.

Leaving the woods, Lux saw houses in the distance, quite a bit different to the buildings he was used to. The ground under his feet was gritty, but his soles were used to walking on the burning surface of a star so it was nothing in comparison.

Leora hovered around and caught a glimpse of an eagle flying overhead. She shone a little brighter until her form changed to resemble the bird, only golden and translucent, being made out of light. Replicating it's movement, she circled above Lux and Gryphon.

"Yes, I suppose that would be easier." He lifted his legs off the ground as he began to rise, slowly yet effortlessly. Glancing up at the bird, he wondered if Gryphon would fly that slow. It would be best if Lux didn't shoot off at the speed of light, just in case.

Gryphon watched in awe as Leora transformed into a beautiful, glowing eagle. He wasn't hiding it either, watching her fly with a surprised expression of almost childlike wonder, eyes glittering. "Wow..." He said, softly. This was why he loved living on these islands - he saw weird and wonderful things everyday, and it was amazing to be around.

At Lux's agreement, Gryphon took a few steps back. There was a good amount of level ground ahead, and not too many obstacles, so he could take off from here. He glanced at the glowing being as he floated up, making sure he was at a good distance before Gryph opened out his full wingspan, which was impressive in comparison to his body. He prepped and took a good breath, letting it out slowly before he began running forward. After a good run, he jumped and pushed himself up into the air with his wings. It certainly wasn't effortless, but it was clearly well practised. Once he was comfortably flying, he glided to meet Lux smoothly, "It's just straight forward for now." He said, "Just follow me."

With that, he made a bit more distance before flapping his wings to gain altitude, so he could go faster. He swerved and flew easily through the air. He loved it - the rush of air, watching the world go by below him. As they began to reach a more densely packed area, Gryph went a little higher, to avoid hitting any buildings. It wouldn't be too much longer now.

Lux hovered there whilst he watched Gryphon perform his take off. It seemed like a lot of effort, maybe he was right in thinking that flying was harder for beings on Earth. His extravagent wings were pretty impressive, though, not to mention beautiful.

As Gryph flapped his wings and began to soar off, Lux leant forward so that he was horizontal in the air and propelling him forward. It didn't take much for him to keep at the same pace as the avian but it was a pleasant experience, none the less.

Leora kept close, still in her eagle form, as she swooped under and over them as they flew, occasionally flapping to maintain the illusion that she was a bird. The three of them soared over buildings and vegetation, taking in the beauty of the island.

The glowing eagle of Leora that flew around them really was a sight. It made Gryph realise that yes, he loved flying, but flying with other people seemed to be another step up, one he hadn't managed to do much before. He hoped this wasn't the last time.

As they approached the right building, Gryphon spoke again, "This is it." The buildings in this area were a little more high end. Not utter luxury, but it was certainly a good area. His apartment was a bit nicer than he had been insinuating, after all. "The roof's my landing spot," He explained, "You can land wherever though." It wasn't any safer to land anywhere else for the avian, however, he had learned that from experience - and the landlord had been kind enough to give him a key to roof when he had asked, so getting inside wouldn't be a problem either.

Having to muster up a bit of confidence, Gryph slowed down and aimed for the right building. It wasn't like he hadn't done this landing a number of times before - he certainly had - but it wasn't the biggest target. He made his way down and landed with a bit of a stumble, but he didn't injure himself at all, which he made certain of as he carefully folded his wings away again.

Lux looked towards the roof that Gryph was talking about. It was quite small but he was a professional at flying, he'd always been especially good at it. The place looked more affluent than the man had previously let on. He wouldn't have been bothered either way, but it was a plus.

Allowing Gryph to swoop down first, Lux slowed down and allowed his legs to sink, making him vertical again as he drifted to the roof. Leora, next to him, folded her wings back and dived down as though she were a bird soaring down for it's prey.

"It is quite a nice place here," he complimented as he looked around at the roof, the streets down below. "Is the whole of this building yours?" It looked like a rather large building for just one man to live in. Leora landed on his shoulder, still in bird form, frantically turning her head.

Gryphon chuckled at the question, "If I owned this building, it would have a better landing platform." He said, smirking. It was a good thing his sandals had very sturdy soles, otherwise they probably would have worn down from all of the landings he had made onto hard surfaces. He took out his key and walked towards the door that lead inside, unlocking it and holding it open for Lux, "I live on one of the floors. There's about ten apartments here." He stated, with a grin.

Once they were inside, Gryph would lock the door behind them and then lead Lux through the cosy corridor. They went down a flight of steps before Gryphon turned to a door, which he signalled to with a little gesture and an awkward face, "This... is home." He stated, clearly, before unlocking the door to let them both in.

The first room they stepped into was spacious, as the front door lead straight into the living room and kitchen. The overall atmosphere was cosy and warm, in Gryph's opinion, and he liked that it was a little laidback. He took off his sandals and put on a pair of slippers, walking inside, "Tada~" He said, jazz hands a-plenty.
