Though he'd come to the shop plenty of times, Lochlann still hesitated outside the RPG-looking building, his hand hovering over the door knob. A little flicker of anxiety rushed through him--what if she's not here or worse what if she's here and doesn't want to see me--but he pushed the thoughts away before they could intrude any further.

Lochlann did a pretty good job of looking like he had his shit together when he went to see his friends. He was showered, wearing clean clothes, and he'd even attempted to hide the smell of whiskey with some horrible substance called bubalicious, though the results were tenuous at best. Sure, he was still a little pale and there were bags under his eyes, but he could just say he was up late studying.

His back-pack was slung over one shoulder, and he was carrying a pizza in one hand. He pushed the door open and walked in, giving a quick glance around to make sure he was alone.

"Hey Addy," he announced as he entered the shop, "I hope you're hungry because there is no way in hell I'm going to be able to eat this entire thing myself."

The inside of the shop was just as usual. Old man Kranz's hammering of his weapons rang loud in the air, and aside from that, silence. It was a slow day today, but that's why Adelene looked busy when Lochlann entered.

She was working behind the counter, using it as a table for paperwork. Inventory and such. She was writing stuff on some papers, all focused, her face ruined by the creases above her nose made by her furrowed brows. She couldn't lose the serious look that easily. But when the door opened, as usual, she jumped up her seat and almost fell, shouting a panicked "HowmayIhelpyou!"

She froze at seeing Lochlann. While she was relieved it wasn't just a customer, she had such a huge reason to feel embarrassed all of a sudden. Her face burned red, realizing she panicked right in front of her friend.

"Oh, h-hi Loch," she greeted from where she froze while trying to smile. But she was really embarrassed. She regarded the box of pizza in his hand, before turning back to his eyes. "Pizza? Ah... Is it lunch time? I haven't noticed." She searched for any wall clock around, but all she could see were medieval weapons. She shrugged. "I haven't had lunch yet, good timing."

"HowmayIhelpyou!"

"I can think of a few ways," he lifted his eyebrows and gave her a suggestive smirk, but it didn't last because he was laughing again. He couldn't resist. "I'm thinking the best way you could help me is by eating half this pizza."

By this point, Lochlann just acted like everything was normal when she blushed or got embarrassed. Unless he said something to upset her, acting normal was his go-to reaction to try and make her feel calm again. He wasn't sure how it was working, but he couldn't come up with an alternative.

"Oh, h-hi Loch," "Pizza? Ah... Is it lunch time? I haven't noticed. "I haven't had lunch yet, good timing." '

"Well, it's half-past a medieval battle axe, so I thought you might be hungry," Lochlann said. He eyed the stack of papers and shook his head. "It looks like you could probably use a break anyway. Do you need to eat here at the counter, or do you wanna eat outside?"

Adelene was actually thankful that Lochlann never laughed at her being embarrassed and such. It was one of the reasons she got more and more comfortable around him, and never really shooed away his company. She hasn't said yes to dinner yet though. Not while it seemed like it meant something else.

"Let's eat outside. I dunno where though, think about it, I'll be back."

She quickly headed to the back of the shop, outside, where Kranz was. Just to let the old man know she was going out for lunch break. And then she went back to the counter to put away the papers, before finally joining Lochlann. "You think it's okay if I go out looking like this?" she asked, turning her body a little to the left and right to show him his uniform. It was a dress, so she hated it. It blended well with the shop, that's why it made her look like she too was from some medieval RPG.

"Let's eat outside. I dunno where though, think about it, I'll be back."

Lochlann already had a place in mind if she was up for it. He leaned against the counter, giving another observing glance around the room. He was secretly grateful she'd agreed to eat outside. Being in the shop made him a little nervous. There was so much iron, he was afraid he'd brush up against something and burn himself.

Still, she came back out, doing a little model turn to the sides, and Lochlann eyed her.

He put on his best fashion-critiquing voice. It sounded vaguely french, or maybe it was a bad New York accent. He'd only watched America's Next Top Model Once.

"Well the fit is spectacular, ma cherie, but you are simply lacking on accessories. A battleaxe or perhaps a morningstar to temper those soft edges would add some much needed glimmer to it," and then, to translate, he said in his normal voice, "Yeah, you look cute. It is a little surprising seeing you in a dress, though. I'll never get used to it."

He headed back to the door, holding it open for her with a wide grin. "Ready?"

Addy made an almost exaggerated, horrified gasp. Hearing Lochlann imitate some kind of fashion critique bothered her to the point of shuddering, but that immediately vanished as he became normal again.

"Don't say it's cute. If something bad happens I'm going to rip this so I could move freely." She walked to the door with him, not realizing what she just said was a little awkward. "Okay, ready." Well, she realized before heading out, and abruptly shot Lochlann a defensive glare. "J-Just so you know, I'm wearing my usual shorts inside. D-Denim.... Dammit why am I even explaining to you."

She had to stop asking people about her uniform. Calming down, she walked out of the door, and then waited for Lochlann to be right beside her, so they could walk side by side. She was intimidated by Lochlann's height, and felt like he could carry her like a sack on his shoulder anytime, but she tried not to look like it.

Lochlann lifted his eyebrows again and gave her another wide smirk, though he was trying to look a little appalled. He teased, "Addy, that's...that's lewd."

She caught on too quick because she was already giving him a glare as they walked about the door, and he couldn't help but laugh again.

. "Okay, ready. "J-Just so you know, I'm wearing my usual shorts inside. D-Denim.... Dammit why am I even explaining to you."

"It's good to know that you are a woman of many layers," Lochlann teased again, taking a familiar place at her side. Addy's worry was relatively unfounded. He did think about picking her up some times, and she could probably sense it in the way he looked at her when the thought was on his mind.

However, His piggyback rides tended to be fatal, and he was doing his best to respect her boundaries in their friendship. Sometimes, it was hard though, because he really liked the contact.

"Do you trust me?" he asked suddenly, and then flinched, clarifying his answer. "To pick a place to eat, I mean. We don't have to go all philosophical, I shouldn't have started the question that way. I have a place in mind, but I want it to be a surprise."

Adelene was silent. She walked beside him, trying not to entertain Lochlann's teasing, especially while she was still that embarrassed, and fuming red. She was fine keeping close beside him though. She didn't want him to get too far away. For some reason, she knew she'd feel upset if he does. Seems she really did consider him her friend now.

At the question, she glanced up at him curiously. She was relieved she didn't have to really answer if she trusted him or not, because honestly, she wasn't sure, but since he meant it was for lunch then...

"I'm fine anywhere. You know, as long as we're both comfortable, at least. But," she tilted her head, "why the surprise? We're just going to eat lunch, right?"

"Yes, just lunch," Lochlann assured her. "It's just that...I don't think we both have many pleasant surprises in our life. It feels more exciting this way."

Without thinking, he grabbed her hand and started to hurry up the street. His group was loose, though, and it'd be easy for her to remove her hand, and Lochlann's version of hurry was really impacted by how fast he could go without making his limp noticeable.

He was leading her only a block from the store, to a small bookshelf with the logo of a Sphynx guarding a pyramid-shaped stack of books.

"Okay, I know it's a bookstore, but...just trust me on this, I'm not going to force you to listen to poetry."

He'd hold the door open for her, and then lead her in, past several shelves, and up two flights of stairs to the doorway to the roof. The top had several tables and chairs, and a decent view of the city and the coast.

She hadn't pulled away though. Especially since Lochlann picked up his pace, and with such long legs, even though he really wasn't all that fast, she would still lose him if she rejected that hold.

She furrowed her brows when they got to the bookshop. She eyed Lochlann in a confused manner, not really understanding why they went there, and were pizzas even allowed in the shop..?

She eased up quickly, fortunately, and began to chuckle. "I don't mind listening to poetry though. They're beautiful."

She wasn't sure what to expect when they entered, but reaching the roof, she could only stare at the view wide-eyed and awed. For a moment, she forgot to move. The city was much more beautiful than it already was when viewed from a higher place, she realized.

"This... This is amazing! I didn't know there's a place like this in here, the city's so beautiful from here..."

She turned to Lochlann with an amused grin, and gave him a gentle pat on the arm. "I'd pat your head, but I can't reach that high." She chuckled. "How did you know this place?"
