"Why would something happen?" She inquired, leaning forward to try and finish healing the male. "Are you afraid of doctors, young man?" She furrowed her brow, allowing a rather sinister smile, "Because if that is the case, I assure you, I am much more than just a doctor - so much more..."

She swayed where she stood - the slight ache in her wrist told her he should feel no pain at all.

The pain receded quickly, leaving a slight numbness in his wrist where her magic had affected him. Perhaps this would have been a comfort had he not already been in a worried state which only rose to full panic at the doctor's words and wicked smile. With a quick jerk he pulled his hand out of her grasp and into his pocket, pulling a small switchblade he carried around. It was by no means a lethal weapon, but it could certainly cause a fair bit of damage if one was unlucky. “What the hell are you and what the fuck did you do to me?!” he demanded, pushing himself to the very edge of the bed away from the 'doctor' and brandishing the blade.

Another twist in his stomach heralded yet another aspect of concern in the back of his mind. He knew that this could go very badly for everyone here if he kept panicking. All he wanted right now was to get away from all of this, away from other people, away from whatever this 'doctor' was. He briefly considered the window; they weren't very high off the ground, and he'd likely only suffer cuts on his arms if he hit it right.

Milk was confused. This was not going like most normal clinical visits did. She took a step forward putting a hand on both Murphy and Melivere's shoulders. "Enough." She said, her grip like a steel vice.

Her skin seemed to smooth out as she held both the medic and the students shoulders, her grip strengthening. "There will be no more yelling." She chastised Murphy, before turning her gaze to Melivere. "Why are you antagonizing your patient."

Melivere answered calmly, "Hippogriff. Five hundred and some change. I healed you as you requested. Did my job, that is all." She eyed the other, stating bluntly, "I do not like making it known that I am a hippogriff. It is not something I advertise, so when I implied I am much more than just a healer, that is what I meant."

She moved to tug her arm from Milk's grasp - she retained a lot of her hippogriff strength in her human form; and she was overconfident in her abilities. Being young, Melivere could shift without pain, without wait. Which is what she was prepared to do if this escalated.

Murphy began to lash the knife at the doctor, but Milk's grip brought him to a halt. In the brief moment of pause he closed his eyes and began counting in his head 0,1,1, he needed to calm down, 2,3,5,8, remember the lessons, 13,21,34, he was safe here, Milk was a friend, a friend, even the vice like grip on his shoulder was comforting, a sort of steadying presence. For half a minute he kept his eyes closed, tuning everything out and focusing entirely on the increasingly difficult sequence of numbers.

He'd been scared, he realized. Not just now, not just when the doctor had used her magic and smiled at him, but since he'd boarded the ship to Manta Carlos. The moment he'd left everything behind and stepped into the unknown he'd relinquished what little control he had in his life, which left him with a slight unease that he only now identified as fear. And with identification comes control, he thought.

Slowly, in steps, he forced himself to calm down. First he straightened his legs, which he'd curled under himself in an attempt to withdraw from the healer. Next came a soft clatter as the knife was released and fell to the floor. Finally, he drew a deep breath and opened his eyes, gazing first at those big brown orbs that were the only visible source of Milk's emotions, then at the woman who identified herself as something more than human. He felt the knot of cold, twisting nausea fade from his stomach, and hoped that it also meant his powers had receded for the moment as well.

“I...apologize doctor,” he said shakily, “and to you as well Milk. I uh... I'm still getting used to being out of my element.” Murphy gave them each a weak, apologetic smile. “Thank you... doctor was it?”

Melivere was drastically underestimating how strong Milks grip was. The tanned woman's hand barely budged, still gripping the Hippogriff's shoulder. Luckily for all parties involved, Milk released the two's arms after Murphy calmed down.

Milks arms shifted again, slowly returning to how they normally look as she crossed her arms again. With another nod to Murphy, Milk knelt down to retrieve the knife. She looked at it curiously, before gripping it tightly, crossing her arms once more. She had a frown on her face again, but she said nothing.

"Melivere, Professor Melivere." She answered shortly, rubbing her shoulder softly. "Well, do you two need anything more?" She inquired, arching a brow slightly as she looped her arms behind her back.

Murphy swung his legs over the edge of the bed, managing to stand after a false start or two. Giving his hand an experimental flex he was surprised to note that all traces of pain and injury were gone completely, was this the kind of power that was being kept hidden on the island? If so, that begged the question of why? So much good could be done with this kind of gift if properly administered... he shook his head. It was not his place to judge others for how they chose to employ their talents, especially with one as erratic as his own.

Out of the corner of his eye he saw Milk retrieve his knife and continue watching Melivere and himself. She was a sort of oddity too, though one he was beginning to rely on more and more despite only having known her for a handful of hours. His gaze traced back to the nurse, and he paused before extending a slightly shaky hand towards the healer. “Well, uh, thank you Professor, it would have taken at least a week to heal without your talents. I am in your debt.”

"Please, no debts. Just don't do it again." Melivere murmured, "I believe we're done - unless you have questions?" She saw nothing more to attend too, but would wait for them to decide that.
