Lowering his head slightly, averting his face just a little so Minerva couldn't see, Sterling smiled, trying not to laugh when she kicked the ground in frustration, showing her age somewhat despite her trying to act all grown up. Lifting his head after a second, Sterling met her rather impassioned gaze.
“I don’t see you as hating the world,” Sterling remarked as his warm blue stare moved to her amazing artwork once more and then back to her as he smiled, “Much the opposite. I think you want to bring beauty to it,” he told her very truthfully, admiring that she was seemed so passionate about what she believed in.
“And you are right. The world is full of selfish people who only care for themselves. It has always been that way, and will always be that way, unfortunately. Envy is, I’m afraid, a very powerful emotion.” He said with a somewhat resigned sigh. Envy was worse than hate in his mind. Hate was often related to fear and you could assuage a fear, but you could rarely calm someone’s envy to the point that it completely disappears… it was an emotion that once embedded was hard to remove or change.
“Handsome people are assholes?” Sterling remarked in surprise, half shocked by her remark, before he burst out laughing. “I am glad you think so…” he chuckled, “Angels are supposed to be pretty. Be a shame if you thought I was ugly… “he grinned teasingly at her, “Though, I guess, you could say some of us angels are assholes too,” he chuckled, thinking Minerva was a very outspoken, yet interesting and funny person to be around.
