It was a fairly overcast day on the pier, but luckily not overly windy. And with just a hint of rain, too. Sterling walked purposefully along the pier, searching for something but not knowing what. As an angel, he often got these needs to check out things, places, look for people even - it was almost like he was being called somewhere. When he was a guardian angel, he knew exactly where he had to go. It was instinctive, but since he had decided he didn't want to be a guardian anymore, that knowledge of where to go was gone, and he was left with these strange feelings of having to be somewhere, but not ever knowing for certain where that somewhere was. What he needed to find could be across town for all he knew...
Turning a corner, he headed over to the part of the pier that was more industrial, where the boats came in and unloaded containers of goods, fish and other things needed on the island. Stopping suddenly, Sterling looked around, he could go toward the boats or toward some old warehouses. After a second, he decided, for no reason other than it seemed right, to check out the abandoned warehouses.
