She had managed to find her voice, that was good, it meant she could be counted on in the future.
"Rookie, is a term for someone with things to learn. That being said, if you'd like to take lead feel free but someone should." He responded, ignoring, for the time being, the explanation to her powers.

"Nextly, I'm something of a spiritual artist. I have a number of talents granted to me by the spirits of nature, life, and man and am mostly designed to be a warrior caste member of those that are meant to be warriors for the planet in the first place. I'm sorry if it seems enigmatic, but in black and white terms, I can jump really far, throw lightning bolts and needles of sunlight, and hear see and smell things that most people can't." He explanation was longer, but he was keeping as few people out of the know as to exactly what he was.

"Invisibility and force fields, those are useful abilities. I would like to see them in action sometime. Let's hope it isn't today." He said.

He smiled at her comment.
"I never for a moment thought you were ignorant. Simply inexperienced. Leading isn't being the boss and running things as if it's your way or the highway, it's about using everyone's strengths in concert to accomplish a goal and hold a group together, even if there are only two in that group." He explained, continuing the smile the whole way through. It was a little over the top but he felt it would get his point across.

Then to the comment about his powers and the name for them. Werewolf wouldn't have explained all that, even less the word Garou.
"Spirit mage? Traveler? Medium? Any of those might describe it, but true explanation requires detail, not terms." He explained.

Their conversation hadn't been soft spoken, and at points both had gotten louder than necessary. This was apparently all that was needed as four screeching half decayed corpses lunged at them, lancing through the street and struggling up the hill to the positions Zachary occupied with Savannah.
"So much for a boring day. Game face time." He said, partially to himself as he hefted the stun shield and hit a button on the handle that caused the electrode on the front to spark. With his right hand he reached for a compartment on the front of the coffin shaped case on his back and withdrew a handgun, .22 Luger target pistol loaded with rubber bullets, and handed it to Savannah.
"Aim for the legs with that, I don't know if these die if you shoot them in the head like in the movies but we're not trying to kill them anyway." He said as he reached back again to withdraw a similar pistol, effectively removing all of the long range weapons he had placed in the compartments on the pack.

With that he rested the barrel of the pistol on the front of the shield and held on as he placed it on the barrel and pulled out two ear pieces, placing them on his ears as he grabbed the gun again.
"Ready?"

Savannah had to admit, she was horrified. She grabbed the gun, shifting it to feel the weight. She never really told anyone, but she was a good shooter. She would go hunting with her dad, and even after he died, she continued to shoot. She could shoot with accuracy and speed, which was what they would need here. she picked up and shield and breathed, it was light compared to what she was used too. She looked at Zach in the eyes and said "yes, I'm ready."

He slid his right foot forward and fired off three shots, aiming at the legs of two of them, the rubber bullets hit, but the overall effect was singularly unimpressive. One stumbled and fell but it started working on getting up as the other three continued to advance. Evidently their task had been far more difficult than he had anticipated.
He was not super loaded on the lightning rounds and he didn't want to go using them all in the event there was a bigger mob at some point. With that he fell back a couple of steps, trying to figure out what to do, where to shoot to drop them so he could zip tie them.

Savannah watched as he shot. The people kept moving forward. She looked at Zach with innocent and alarmed eyes. "Tell me where to shoot and I'll hit it." she told him. "The legs didn't work so well, what about the shoulder, or the thigh?" She glanced at them advancing with an anxious look. How would this end?

His eyes darted from target to target, assessing each one in turn, but he couldn't figure out a way to get any better results with a .22 caliber weapon.
"Well nothing with these weapons. It's like throwing rocks at a pile of rocks. Close range may be best." He said as he put his pistol back in the compartment on his case, pulling out a .45 caliber smith and wesson set from his coat. Both of the guns were identical, black, sleek, and loaded.
"Trade you." He said as he held out the gun for her. These were also loaded with rubber rounds, but there were less per clip.
"8 rounds, then you'll have to tac reload." He said.

Savannah nodded.[/I] But throwing rocks is dangerous[/I] she though to herself. She shrugged. "Ok," she said grabbing his gun. I don't think we'll have to get any closer, because they are advancing on us." She thought for a second. Weren't they supposed to be helping another team? Where was that team, and how come she hadn't seen them? She gripped the gun, getting used to the feeling of it. She wanted to take some practice shots, but she didn't want to waste any bullets.
