Gyres strolled through the streets, dressed in rather plain clothes and with a smile on his face. Things were going great for him. New opportunities seemed endless on this island and everyday his organization swelled with new members. It was a time of true celebration, and for this celebration he decided to go to his favorite place in the city.

Gyres stopped in front of a rather small building. In the front windows an immense variety of meats were out on display for all to see. Gyres entered and, seeing nobody else was there, very quickly announced his presence to the tiny lady at the counter. “Glinda! You beautiful woman, how are you today? Listen if I could get one of the juiciest thighs cuts you have that would be wonderful. Thanks sweetheart~.” Gyres stopped by the store so often the lady didn’t even need to know what type of meat Gyres wanted, quickly leaving into the back and returning with a large slab of meat bagged up for him. Gyres grabbed the meat and handed a large wad of cash to the lady. “You never disappoint me Glinda~”.

Ever since Kon's need to eat new DNA, he had to make a list of what he had already eaten. Eating what was on the list meant he would get no benefits from it. His hunger wouldn't be quenched. His mind would continue to degrade. He had to be careful.

Despite being open about eating people, Konpeitō still felt somewhat ashamed over it. Whenever he was eating people-meat, he wouldn't say what the meat was until asked. Even now, as he entered a small butcher shop he visited once, he made sure no one he was familiar with was there.

There were only two people he could see inside the shop. Glinda, whose presence there again made him think she was the owner, and the human-looking man who entered a little before he did.

Unsure of what to order, Kon looked over to the man and gave him a smile. He looked like the sociable type. He probably wouldn't mind Kon starting up a conversation with him. "Hi there! You seem familiar with this place. I've only come here once before, and that was for human meat. Have you tried out the non-human options?"

Gyres’s attention was grabbed by the newcomer rather quickly, he stored his packaged meat in his pockets for later and approached the stranger. “Well hello there? I’m afraid to say I hadn’t had their other options, human meat is the meat for me.” Gyres have a wide smile and outstretched a hand towards his new acquaintance. “The name is Gyres Felnoc. A pleasure to meet you.”

Gyres had a very relaxed posture as he conversed with this stranger. It was always good to meet new people, no matter where it was. Even if they couldn’t be ‘persuaded’ to join Gyres in his questionable activities, allies were good none the less.

The stranger's friendly response told Kon that he was not being disruptive, but the way he started off his reply with an inquisitive tone made Kon wonder. Oh well. They were already doing introductions. If he already disliked Kon, he wouldn't have given out his name so easily.

"I am Konpeitō Hatsu. Kon is also fine. It's a pleasure to meet you too. Too bad you can't give me suggestions on non-human meat. Ah, I'll surprise myself and see what a harpy's wing tastes like." He looked over to the lady and nodded his head, signaling her to bring back the meat he brought up.

"Gyres Felnoc... I've never heard of a name like that. Mind telling me its origins? Oh! I didn't mean to hold you up like this. I'm just in a chatty mood today."

“Ah, Konpeito. A wonderful name~.” Gyres kept his smile and tried his best to disarm Kon. He didn’t want to put his new ‘friend’ on edge after all. “To be completely honest Im not sure where the name comes from myself. I guess it’s just a family name. I cant really find out though, I was from Halycon City. I’m sure you heard about what happened to it.” There wasn’t any real reason for Gyres to be hiding his origin from other people, after all he had been absolved of the crimes he did in the city.

"I appreciate the compliment. It's a name I chose for myself and holds a lot of meaning to me."

He continued listening to Gyres, politely nodding his head to his words. That is, until Halcyon City was brought up. Kon's ears immediately flickered, signaling his heightened attention. "I know Halcyon City! I'm on friendly terms with Angelo Genovese," Kon immediately assumed Gyres knew of him with the reputation he had and has, "and I've chatted with some other people from there."

Gyres kept his smile going, slowly seeming like it was stuck on his face. “Oh you chose that name? How interesting...”

Gyres’s smile strained slightly when Angelo was mentioned. Kon knowing Angelo could certainly be an issue, but it wasn’t big enough of an issue to cause major problems. “Oh Angelo? Yes I know of him. I’m more familiar with his father Basilio then, often had more business with him than Angelo.” Honesty was still the best policy when interacting with people, it was all in the past after all.

Kon didn't pay too much mind to Gyres constant smile. Konpeitō was also the type to keep on smiling no matter the occasion. He just knew how to change the intensity of it once in a while and when to drop it when it was necessary. With that thought, it made Gyres' unchanging smile a little more creepy. The way his words trailed off when calling his name interesting didn't help things either.

But that may have been because of Kon mentioning Angelo. Gyres smile became strained. He likely didn't have good interactions with Angelo. Now the question was, interactions on the Halcyon or on the island? It was Basilio Gyres knew better, so likely before the island.

"I've met Basilio before. He's an intimidating man with certain qualities I'd like to emulate. The intimidation being one of them. If you don't mind me asking, what was the business like?"

Glinda returned to the counter with a large harpy wing all wrapped up. Woah. Okay. He should've expected it to be large, but he didn't think that far ahead. As paid, he listened to Gyres response.

Gyres couldn’t help but laugh a little at Kon’s interactions with Basilio. It certainly sounded like the old man was still the same as he was in Halycon. “Heh, I often tried to gain supplies and such from Basilio. The Genoverse was perhaps the most powerful family in Halycon so being on good terms with them was a necessity.” Well it was a necessity up until most of Halycon was under his control, however Gyres never got to that part of the plan. He wondered if Basilio would actually help him now on the island, but deep down he knew the man wouldn’t lift a finger for him.

Gyres tried to be on good terms with Basilio, from what Konpeitō was hearing. Gyres never said he got those supplies, only that he tried to. Kon decided not to focus too much on it. He was just happy to find another businessman to learn about.

The harpy wing was too pick for Kon size. He grew himself to his maximum of ten feet, then picked it up and put it under his am. The sudden height change was awkward, but this kind of awkwardness was better than clumsily holding a giant, wrapped wing.

"That all sounds interesting. I would love to get business advice from Basilio, but he doesn't seem interested in his past work anymore and we're not close. I get tips from Angelo here and there, but he's also focused on other things."
