Right! So Glockenspiel and Detlef both hail from a planet named Lalani IV. Glockenspiel's species, the Glalni, reside in subterranean caves, while Detlef's species, reside on the surface, having adapted to the harsh deserts that cover the planet. Skalich resemble anthropomorphic reptiles/dragons — they have thick scaly hides that protect them from the arid conditions. If you're interested in playing Detlef or another Skalich, hit me up and we can flesh out the species together! Anyways. Glockenspiel met Detlef when they left behind their clan to join a trading vessel, and they became fast friends. Detlef ended up becoming Glockenspiel's mentor, teaching them the art of scrimshaw which they promptly added their own spin to. The pair became quite successful, until pirates attacked their ship. Glockenspiel has no idea what happened to Detlef, and assumes the worst — but! I think it'd be neat for him to actually be alive? In the sort of, 'look how far he's fallen' sorta way. Glockenspiel looked up to Detlef a lot, he was their best friend and almost like a father figure to them, so for them to find out that he had to do some dark things to survive the pirate attack?? Angst!! Sadness!! Feels!! History and personality are generally open besides what's already been detailed.
