Though he had been to a few of the balls held on the island, the masquerade ball was one he was yet to experience. Being on the island for a couple of years now, he knew a lot more people but the feeling of not knowing who anyone was again was refreshing but also made him nervous. Of course, knowing some people's scents gave the game away a little but the ball was so crowded that it would be hard to pinpoint who he knew and who he didn't.
The boy wore a simple navy suit with a maroon tie that he had bought for such occasions now that he finally had an income of his own, along with a plain black mask covering his eyes. He hated dressing formally, as well as dancing, so some would think that this wouldn't be his sort of do. However, if the island had taught him anything, it was that there were so many new things to try and they might surprise you.
Looking a little lost in the swaying of people, he smiled at those he passed, feeling too awkward to dance, especially on his own. Food; maybe that was a safe bet. He made his way over to pick at what was laid out.
