Konpeitō snicker at Vladimir's fake barking turn into an ungraceful snort when he was hit with a sudden dirty joke. He put a hand to his mask's mouth in embarrassment and looked away for a quick moment.

"A dance would be great! I've never done ballroom dancing before. Not in a place like this. Why don't you lead the way? " He had to restrain himself from dragging Vladimir to the dance floor. He wanted to drag Vladimir all around the building, exploring everything that this ball had to offer. Until he could calm down from the new-experience high he was having, he preferred Vladimir taking the lead.

"Rising star, I wish..."

Still, the idea did give her a little smile. Even if Wednesday didn't have that high an opinion of herself, she supposed she could play along at least a little bit. She was on the island as a representative of an old and formerly powerful clan of witches, she always had pride in that.

"Well if you think it helps, your lordship." She said with a good-natured chuckle. "I guess I'll try to just focus on that."

She was still sticking close though, there were a lot of people and with all the masks and costumes she was having trouble picking out anyone she'd recognise. Being in a big crowd was gonna make her anxious either way, but focusing on things other than whether or not she belonged in it could at least help.

"Um, do you think we could grab a snack. I kinda wanna eat something before..." She ran a hand through her hair. "I wouldn't mind heading to the dance floor afterwards..."

He nodded as the boy explained he was here alone. After all, he was also here without company but it seemed that the other person was new. Remembering back to when he was new, he knew how daunting the whole thing could be. Luckily, there were people who were welcoming.

“That’s a good way to be, embrace the crazy and awesome things that go on here. Like, this may seem like normal drinks but it’s only alcohol for those of legal age,” he explained, gesturing to the drinks on offer.

The idea of dancing made him blush slightly, let alone dancing with someone else. “Erm... dancing isn’t really my thing. I have the grace of a camel on ice,” he chuckled. Now he was picturing a camel on ice and giggled even more. If he wasn’t going to dance, however, then what was the point of being there really. “Eh what the hell, sure. I an very sorry if I knock you over or step on you or something.”

"Oh." The boy replied, slightly disappointed. He had — uh, totally not been looking forward to that glass of champagne. To be fair though, nonalcoholic wine was still okay. It just tended to be sweeter and lack a certain oomph to it. He'd still try some on the way out.

He smirked internally at the man blushing. To be honest, it was kind of endearing - he felt sorry for the poor soul. Attending a ball and not dancing was like eating a cake without the icing. Or like watching a movie with no sound: passable, but hardly enjoyable.
"It's okay - I'm sure you'll be fine," he chuckled, leaving the table to join the dance floor and offering his hand. "Now, follow my lead. We'll have you dancing in no time!"

Grinning at Kon's reaction to his inappropriate joke, Vladimir decided to behave for a bit. There was definitely time to flirt some more later on that evening.

"Of course, and with pleasure," Vladimir said as he held out his elbow to Konpeito like a gentleman so that he could lead him through the ever-growing crowd of masked party-goers out onto the dance floor.

"No, you're fine," and I promise I'll be gentle," Bel reassured PurpleGrin laughingly as she finished her drink and set the empty glass down on the table.

"Sam is going to be busy most of the evening with his followers and All Hollows Eve lovers. So I am quite free to dance up a storm and be a social butterfly," she explained with a smile as she took PurpleGrin's proffered hand and let him guide her onto the dance floor where she very fell easily into step with PG.

PurpleGrin smiled beneath his mask and carefully led Bel to an area where they could dance without a huge chance they'd accidentally bump into anyone. Then he very politely bowed once and then arranged his arms with hers. "Do you come to formal events like this often?" He asked as they began to slowly join the rest of the crowd in dancing. His moves were mostly in step, though every now and then he did something just a little bit unfamiliar. Not bad or wrong, just slightly out of the norm for Earth tradition. And honestly, a little more fun and quirky.

"Very well then, let us procure some snacks," Sazz was content with this plan. He was beginning to think maybe strutting around a big crowd might be a pinch too much for Wednesday at the moment. This was fine though, he liked food, he also liked his friend to be as comfortable and having as much fun as possible.

He was caught a little off guard when she offered to dance after they ate. "I mean, sure if you're game I'm game. I might have been looking forward to dancing with you, maybe... a little," he teased as they went to see what foods they had to offer.

"And it's against my nature to not want to flaunt a bit at events like this," Alex replied with the faintest hint of a grin. Yep, it was her alright. These were definitely much better circumstances to meet under. Then again, anything was better than a rickety haunted house.

"So did you come here without a date, or did they get stolen by someone else?"

He tried to shake the feeling of embarrassment but it was no use. Somehow, he had a feeling that this was not going to end well and it didn’t help that there was a crowd of people around. In a way, he felt sorry for the poor boy that was going to be seen with him flailing around.

Giving an awkward smile and glad that there was a mask hiding his self-consciousness, he took the boys hand and followed. “Well... you may be eating your words soon,” he replied, uneasily giving a small laugh.

"I doubt it, but if it's true? I'll at least get you started on the path to decent dancing." He laughed, now a little apprehensive considering the young man honestly seemed reluctant. The boy had chosen a good time to begin the dance, though - Strauss' Blue Danube had just begun to play. The song was perfect for beginner dancers - nice, slow and with an easy beat to follow. The youth began counting aloud to the pulse of the music - "1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3. Just follow my lead and step into the spaces that I create. When I move my feet, put your foot where my foot was. Let's start here at the edge to avoid bumping into anyone."

Putting his hand on the man's waist and intertwining their fingers together, the boy stepped backwards to initiate the simple box waltz routine. Surely the man could handle stepping forwards, left, backwards and right, couldn't he?
"Always step on beat one." He advised, smiling to reassure his partner.

This was not how he expected the evening to go. He had only just arrived and already, he was doing some sort of waltz with another person. Trying to focus more on where to step to avoid trampling the poor boy, his timing wasn’t exactly on point.

It may have come across as rude that he wasn’t talking much to his partner but he was focused so much on trying to get the dance right and keeping the thought that he was so close to another person out of his mind. “Err... so you’ve taken dance lessons before?” he asked, not taking his eyes off of his feet.
