Ray shrugged. Telling herself that it wasn't an invitation, just a way to keep silence from ruling. "Oh I dunno. Change, kill Adrian, maybe do a bit of boarding and then have a shower." the last thing on her list was out of her mouth before she could stop it, and she blushed furiously. "But ehh.. You didn't need to know that last one...Sorry." She crossed her arms, feeling incredibly uncomfortable. Or I could just die. she thought to herself.

This was so embarassing, and awkward. She didn't want to walk so close to him for so long and risk having herself fall and take him down with her again. She snorted. "Barefoot or High heels. They didn't give me much of a choice other than discomfort, did they?"

"Ehh, yeah. I really didn't need to know the last one." Chris could feel his ears burning and was extremely glad that the dark masked that fact. That, and his hair which he hadn't gotten cut. He noticed her crossing her arms and thought maybe she would be cold. He held out his leather jacket that he had left at the coatcheck. "Cold? That thing doesn't look like it provides much heat."

He agreed that the footwear should have been changed. "I could carry you I guess." He joked, knowing that she was small enough for him to do it for a little while. But no, lsat time he had offered something like that she had accepted. It had caused embarassment for them both.

Ray took his offered jacket thankfully, though the thought of wearing Chris' jacket made her feel kind of giddy inside. As she took the jacket from his hand, her hand brushed against his, and she flushed. "Thanks." she said quietly, slipping the jacket over her bare shoulders. She was about to comment on how it was funny that his jacket wasn't far from the hem of her dress when he said he could carry her.

"Ehh.. n-no It's okay. I'm just complaining, that's all." she said in a rushed way. There was no way she was going to take him up on anything that he offered. She snuggled deeper into his jacket, which was still warm.

"Alright." Chris shrugged, glad she hadn't taken him up on the offer. A few tense moments later he was glad to see the dim outline of Starlight Academy. Not that there was anything wrong about a moonlit stroll with a girl all by yourself, but when you were both so embarassed you'd probably end up dead? no, not so much.

"Where do you want me to drop you off?" He asked, already getting a vision of Ray walking back to her room alone and getting jumped on the way there.

Ray smiled up at Chris, glad that her blush was gone now that it was bright enough for her face to be seen in the lights of the school. "Um, do you think you could check the lounge and see if there are any guys in there. I don't want to be seen dressed like this by just anybody." she flushed slightly at the implication that Chris might not be just anybody. "Err..That is... I just don't want my friends thinking of me as a girl." she tried to right her statement shifting her weight from sore foot to sore foot.

"So ehh, would you mind? And err.. If there are I'll just stay up late and go to my room after everybody's gone to sleep." she decided out loud. She'd prefer to have Chris' protection in these clothes, but she made sure that he didn't feel obligated to do so.

Chris chuckled lightly when Ray babbled on. "It's fine Ray." He poked his head into the lounge, spotting nobody. Now he had to contemplate how much more time he wanted to spend with her. He sure wouldn't mind a few more embarassing hours.

"There's a bunch of guys in there, several which were in that group that follows you around." He looked around campus, wondering where they could go. "We could go sit on those benches. It's close enough that I can check every once and a while but far enough away that no one'll see you." He gestured to a bunch of ebnches nearby.

Ray nodded. "Okay." she yawned and rubbed her eyes, and then moved over to the bench. She waited for him to sit down before smiling up at him sleepily. "I'm glad we're friends again." she murmured.

She heaved a contented sigh, and she relaxed slightly. Her eyes soon fluttered shut, and her head came to rest lightly on Chris' shoulder. The slow, shallow breathing indicated that she had just fallen asleep. She murmured a bit and then shifted closer to him so that she could sleep more comfortably.

Chris was about to whisper back but soon realized, by the comfortable weight on his shoulder, that she had fallen asleep. He just sat on the bench for a time but realized that it wouldn't be comfortable or safe hif he fell asleep out here too.

So Chris stood, gently moving Ray so she wouldn't fall over. He scooped her up in his arms noting that she really wasn't all that big. Walking a bit slowly to her room he hoped she had left it unlocked. By the time he reached it he was glad to find out that she had. Quietly opening the door Chris fumbled through the dark. He didn't want to risk waking her up by turning on the light. He managed to find her bed and put her down, lightly arranging her so she looked comfortable. He could barely see her now but the teensy bit of moonlight that filtered in through a window allowed him to locate a blanket to cover her with. He stepped back for a moment, just watching her sleep. "Night Ray." He whispered, bending down to kiss her lightly on the forehead.

He turned around and left her room, silently closing the door behind him. It seemed that Greg had been lurking nearby because as soon as Chris closed her door he appeared. He raised a finger to his lips in a 'shhh' motion before throwing the younger guy a smirk and walking off to his own room. He changed and got into bed, puzzling the nights events before he closed his eyes and fell asleep.

Ray woke up, and was a bit startled to find herself in her bed. She relaxed though, as the night before flashed through her mind. She smiled and sighed contentedly.

She changed out of the dress and into her regular clothes, baggy jeans and an over sized graphic tee. As she exited the girl's dorm area though, she was immediately met by Greg. "So what, you cut our date short to yell at some guy, and then you bring him into your room?" he questioned, a bit of an angry look on his face.

Ray looked at him with a raised eyebrow. "Um..What?" she asked honestly, a bit confused.

"Last night I see the jerk who ruined our date leaving your room with a satisfied smirk on his face." he spat, looking a bit red faced.

"Err...My bet is I fell asleep..." she said slowly.

"After doing what with him?" Greg asked in a snap.

That awarded him one of the hardest most painful backhands in history. "I can't believe what you're implying!" she ground out at him, glaring. "But you know what? Even if that were the case, I'd be more comfortable with him that I was on your awkward messy excuse for a date!" she said, forcing herself to keep a level voice.

With that she spun on her heel and headed towards the cafeteria, leaving a stunned Greg holding his already bruising face.

Chris had woken up and gotten dressed, fully intending to get his jacket back which he had managed to leave with Ray. He yawned and left the room, wandering down to Ray's in time to hear some yelling and catch a glimpse of Greg getting slapped. Then there was something about... whoa, did Ray really just say she had a better time with him? He beamed with pride and didn't even bother to wipe it off as he brushed by Greg without an apology.

He managed to hunt down Ray when he detoured for some food. He had watched her scamper down here anyway. Grabbing himself some toast he followed her to a table and sat down without a word. "Morning." He pushed the plate of toast towards her. "You fell asleep last night so I brought you back to your room. I popped by to grab my jacket and I kind of heard the... shouting match." He ruffled his hair uncomfortably. "I'm sorry if I got you in trouble with your friend. I'll go clear it up with him if you like." He figured she didn't care, especially after whatever assumptions had been made some of which he could guess, but decided to offer anyway.
