Ray was freaking out. She couldn't exactly turn poor Greg down. He was shy and cute, but she just wasn't good with dates. She was, however, thankful that she wasn't at home and thus couldn't be forced to wear that horrible dress.

Instead she'd changed into a tighter pair of jeans, and a black tee-shirt that actually fit her. She wasn't about to really really dress up for this guy. She pulled her hair into a silky ponytail, and did her makeup a bit.

As she was leaving the room, she decided to have her hair down for once, and pulled the elastic out, puting it on her wrist and leaving her hair to shower over her shoulders. She looked up and was startled to see a slightly grumpy Chris pacing in the general area of her room. "Ehh.. Hi Chris, what are you doing here?" she asked nervously.

She nibbled on her lip when she realized the irony of where her room was situated. Not far from where Chris had kissed her. A light, involuntary blush came into her cheeks.

Chris looked up, surprise on his face. Had he really walked all the way here? What the scuzz! He angrily cursed his feet under his breath before pasting on a small grin. "I don't know. I was just sort of walking through the hallways. Err, getting some excercise." Yeah, who walked through the hallways for excercise? He wanted to smack himself but refrained.

And then he actually decided to look at Ray and if he had had an ounce less self restraint his jaw would have hit the floor. He didn't notice her blush, didn't clue in to where they were, because he was so surprised at the outfit. It reminded him horribly of the one that they used to seduce TJ. And this time he wouldn't be around if anything happened. "You're going to be late." He made a big show of checking his watch before he realized that he probably wasn't supposed to hear this Greg person asking her out.

Ray nodded. She was sceptacle of his answer, but if he didn't want to tell her, then that was fine. "I see." she said, though she really didn't. She tucked some hair behind her ears.

And then she looked a bit panicked. "Oh.. Uh.. You heard that." she sounded a little bit like she dreaded that, and then started to move forward. "But you're right. I should go." she nibbled on her lip and headed in the general direction of the lounge, walking slowly.

She was pleasantly pleased with Greg's reaction to her. He jogged up to her and grinned. "You clean up even better." he murmured, taking a strand of her hair in his fingers and playing with it for a minute.

Ray blushed and pointed at the basket he held. "What's that?" she asked him, shifting nervously, unused to a nice guy looking at her the way Greg was.

Greg grinned. "It's a picnic." he replied, slipping an arm around her waist and leading her out of the lounge.

They ate the picnic on the beach, and talked for a bit, though mostly it was eating in silence. That that was mostly because Ray wasn't so good with hanging around with guys in any sense other than friendship.

Finally, Greg decided he was going to break the ice once and for all. He sidled closer to her, slipped one hand around her, pulling her closer to him, and tilted her head up at him. "I guess you haven't figured out how much I like you yet." he said softly, a teasing grin on his face.

Something about the look in his eyes made her blush, and feel uncomfortable yet exccited. He kissed her, and she kissed him back, closing her eyes. Maybe Greg would be better than chasing her silly crush on Chris after all.

Chris had nonchalantly followed Ray and Greg to the beach where he skulked in silence, watching their backs. He had managed to convince himself that he was only here to protect Ray, wouldn't admit that he was jealous. Everything had been going fine and he had decided to relax and stretch his legs, so he had gotten up from the bench and went for a walk, always keeping the pair within eyesite.

Then it happened, that Greg person moved closer to Ray and all of a sudden they were kissing. This was to much for Chris and he lost track of where he was going. The result was he crashed into an older woman who immediately began screeching at him while he tried to disentangle himself from the leash of her scary looking poodle. Great, now he was sure to be noticed, he thought while warding off an attack with the woman's purse. It must have weighed about fifty pounds. And the way she was swinging that thing around was sure to mean he would develop a concussion if he didn't defend himself.

The screeching older woman made Ray break the kiss and look. Greg was annoyed by this, but settled for kissing her neck while she was looking away.

Ray was suddenly struck by two things. The first was the person who was being beaten was Chris, and the second was that TJ had kissed her neck the same way. She stood up quickly, a mixture of fear and anger coarsing through her veins. "Excuse me for a minute." she said darkly, and started to stalk towards Chris.

And, of course, leaving behind a very perturbed Greg.

She apologized sweetly to the lady, using the excuse of Chris being her retarded cousin, and then dragged him a bit of a distance away. She gripped the front of his shirt tightly, her intense gaze full of annoyance. "You had better have a REALLY good reason for being on the same beach at the same time as me and Greg." she growled, holding his shirt so tightly that he couldn't move away from her.

Chris growled at the comment but it seemed to work for the lady who patted him on the head before dragging her demonic poodle down the beach with her. He had been about to thank Ray but it managed to clue in that she wasn't supposed to know he was here. Oops.

"Ehhh..." Oh yeah, really intelligent. C'mon Chris, you can do it. Thinkthinkthink! He thought it was slightly funny that she was so much shorter than him but one look at how angry she was managed to dispell any notions of smiling. "I don't know why I'm here." Well, he did know. He was all snarly protective inside. Or jealous. Both which were equally embarassing. "No, I know why I'm here. It's because I care about you. Durr, do you think I'd be risking my life and allowing little old ladies to beat me up if I didn't?"

Greg, who was uncomfortable with the situation, hollered a good bye, packed up, and made a quick getaway.

And had Ray been in the right frame of mind, her heart probably would have stopped and she would have blushed profusely. As it were, she was too annoyed. In fact, his admitting that he was here because of her made her even more annoyed. "Chris. You are not my brother. You're Scythe's older brother. It's not your job to risk your life. You have no right to pull something like this!" she let go of his shirt, still glaring up at him.

She planted her hands on her hips. "And now my date's gone." she added, looking back to the place where Greg had been. She was fuming. "Thanks a lot." she glared at him, and then spun on her heel, heading down to the water. She planned to go swimming, clothes and all, to cool herself off.

Ouch, that brother comment stung. He couldn't shrug that one off easily. But he was here, had been beaten by little old ladies and attacked by demonic poodles. He wasn't about to give up that easily.

Frustrated, he tried vainly to remember why the heck he had even followed her, but the reason eluded him."It's not my fault! It was your stupid memory!" He yelled after her, watching as she made her way to the water. He was angry now, and couldn't be accounted for his actions or words. Why did girls always have to make life so difficult?

And now she was just trying to take off? No way."Ray, will you just hear me out for pete's sake!" He couldn't just let her walk away. Better to finish what he had to say, beat it and have her hate him for the rest of his life then to not say anything and have her hate him anyway.

Ray spun on her heel and batted a frustrated hand at him. "Just wait a second!" she hollered back, before quickly diving into the ocean and completely submerging herself. Successfully cooling her head for a minute. She emerged from the water, dripping wet, but glared cooly at Chris, crossing her arms across her chest. "Okay fine. What?" she questioned, her eyes still cloudy with anger.

He had no right to just barge in there and completely destroy her attempt to get over him. Not to mention she felt a little bit slimed by Greg, since she wasn't sure that guys were supposed to do that on a first date. She was pretty sure they weren't.

Chris waited, fuming and glaring as she came back out of the water. "I said. It's not my fault. It was your stupid memory." He snapped, coming off harsher than he had originally intended. He wanted to take it back but they were both still angry and prone to saying things that weren't the nicest.

He took a few calming breaths before he started on his rattling speech. "I came here because I was worried about you okay? I listened to you after the TJ thing, remember that night? I didn't want something like that happening to you again okay? I'd feel really guilty, especially since I heard the guy ask you out. And would you even be over here arguing with me if you were excactly enjoying yourself over there? This totally could have waited until you were done!"
