Open Mage's Association: Opening Session

Sazz's tail swayed back and forth excitedly. He'd gotten his club approved and gotten a surprising initial number of members joining right out the gate. The first official meeting would be sort of an open house and meet and greet for the club members. It was a casual affair, but also an important one. He'd set out snacks, dimmed the lights a hint, and lit some candles he'd picked up from a candle shop he knew to further enhance the mood of the club. He plopped down in a chair, Gremmy was sitting on his shoulder as he often would do.

All he had to do was wait for folks to trickle in.

(This thread is primarily for members of the Mage's Association however other students are welcome to join in the thread and become members of the club as well. In light of the fact that there will be no posting order I would ask that you keep posts short in order to keep the thread moving.)

Lottie skipped her way down the halls passing the doors lined up along the walls until she almost skipped past the room the meeting has hosted in. After making an abrupt stop, she pushes past the door and bounces on into the room.

"Hey there! I am a mage here for the Mage's Association!" greeted Lottie as she invites herself into the room, wasting no time in looking around at everything set up for the club.

Tilly had already holed up in a desk near the snack table, where she'd contributed several mismatched bottles of strange alchemical concoctions that she mixed in a large bowl, along with with soda and fruit, to create...

Punch, said the label on the bowl. In a conference of mages, it was often wise to label liquids and not drink anything that wasn't labeled. The liquids she'd mixed were indeed magical, but they'd been enchanted to taste better, to compensate for the fact that they were made with pretty cheap ingredients. She'd just blown most of her pocket money on a giant roast pig and about a hundred pounds of sides to feed to an eldritch deity, so her funds were a little light, but what was a first meeting without punch?

Tilly wasn't really a social butterfly, so she was glad to see a familliar face. ”Hi, Lottie." She said as the very first of the bunch began to trickle through the door.

"You came to the right place!" Ganymede announced to Lottie with a smile. He appeared in the room shortly after Lottie walked in. The catboy was dressed even sharper than usual: this wasn't his everyday wear suit; it was his special occasions suit. It was a little fancier, for special occasions.

"It's good to see all of you." He turned to the table where Tilly sat, and he nodded to her. A new face. "I'm Ganymede." He didn't stop smiling; it only varied in intensity.

He retrieved a handful of berries from the snack table and, after muttering a few magic words to enhance their flavor, plopped one in his mouth.

Filomena had looked over the room Sazz decorated with a nod of approval. Cozy and moody, but not overbearingly so. "You did a good job," She told him with small smile. "I'm hoping for a good turnout." The rabbit woman went on to greet Lottie. "Welcome, dear, I am Filomena Del Bosque, the club advisor. If you have any questions Sazz or myself would be happy to answer."

Jae arrived just behind Ganymede, and greeted the group with a smile and a wave of his hand. "Hey, everyone." The room looked great, and Jae joined the others by the food table. He joined in with the introduction, "I am Jae Yi-Lin. Nice to meet you."

Shiro would fly into the room in her bat form, squeaking a few times before shifting into her normal form. "Heyo everyone," she'd say with a grin, her cat tail swaying behind her as she made her way towards the snack table.

Katie

Katie couldn't help but be excited. She had a club meeting today, and not just any normal one either. The very first meeting for the Mage's association. But for excited as she was, she did need to find the room it was held. Something that was far easier said then done as she walked past the room twice before finally finding it.

After giving a friendly wave towards Jae and Gany, she also headed over to the snack table. "Hi everyone! I'm Katie." she said with a smile as she looked around the table, a little surprised at how many people had arrived so far.

Ack! Here she was thinking she was the first one to arrive but could see that it was not the case upon arrival. In fact it seemed like everyone just showed up all at once!

"Tilly! Glad to see you here! I should have figured I would see you here!" greeted Lottie as she gravitated her way over to Tilly, giving her new compatriot a big wide grin before they are soon distracted by the snacks and drinks laid out on the table. "Ooooh... they have snacks and... punch! Do you think they will be okay with us helping to ourselves right now?"

Before she could even consider grabbing a plate and pigging out, she was distracted by the well-dressed catboy confirming that she was indeed come to the right place! Ghaa part of her wanted to just gush over how cute this boy was but she didn't want to come off as total weirdo on the first meeting sooo... she made sure to hold her excitement back.

"Ah good to see you too! And I'm Lottie Brightburn and its greet to meet you and everyone else here!" enthusiastically spoke Lottie and followed Ganymede's lead on grabbing herself a few snacks and pouring herself some punch with her telekinesis. Lottie was mid bite into a cookie when the the sweet bunny lady introduced herself to her as well. Gosh everyone here is so friendly its great!

"Mhrmmm mhmm fhhrmm! Ah thank you Filomena though you should be prepared... I like to ask a lot questions!" piped up Lottie after quickly chewing and swallowing the cookie in her mouth.

Lottie tilted her head to find Sazz and give him a friendly wave, followed by greeting Jae, Shiro, and Katie as they came in. As she finished grabbing her section of snacks and beverages, she took a seat close to Tilly and waited for everyone else to arrive. It looked like a great turn out already!

Ezra quietly floated into the room, clad in a nice button down shirt and slacks. They had opted to go simple yet presentable for this meeting as they had never really been active in seeking groups of people for conversation. But discussion of magic and studying it to gain better control with a group of their peers? A much better option to theoretical study, in their opinion.

"Greetings and salutations. Apologies for my... seemingly late arrival. I will endeavor to be here earlier next meeting." They gave a polite bow to the group before settling into a nearby chair. In their arms, they held a black cat plushie dressed in a white tuxedo. They glanced down at the toy with a very faint smile, letting it be draped on their lap as their wrapped fingers gently ran along the soft fabric.

Ganymede tried not to make it too obvious, but he was glancing at Shiro fairly frequently. They were both cat-people, and yes, Shiro was clearly some sort of shapeshifter. Possibly even a vampire. But was she also a NEK0?

When she got her snacks, she didn't seem to have any markings on her wrist like the ones Ganymede had. It seemed unlikely that she was a NEK0 - or if she was, Shiro had found a way to hide the mark. Either way it didn't seem worth pressing her on.

Ganymede greeted the others as they came in, then scooted over to Sazz and Filomena. Keeping his voice down, he said: "I actually have some spells that could help with cleaning up after everyone, so I'd be happy to stay after the meeting for that."
