Maddie stared at his mouth, lifting a finger like she might poke it. "It's all glowy for a second." She leaned one way, then the next, as if that would help her peer deeper into his mouth.

"No?" His throat would flash again before he would continue speaking. "Aww, I thought you'd think it was interesting." He cleared his throat before answering her question.
"The flash happens when I change somethings form..." He shrugged. "I don't think it has to, but it looks better this way. You have a sort of transition when you change too, right?" He asked, thinking back. "It doesn't last long, but I do recall something there..."

Laetus nodded and a portal opened up, dropping a water bottle lightly in her lap.
He smiled at her comment. "I'm one of a kind. The world would not survive otherwise." He said jokingly.

Maddie gave a bubbly kind of laugh as she wiggled out of his hold, took a swig of water, and motioned for him to turn around so he didn't have to see her spit or gargle.

Maddie spit twice before she answered him.

"Turning around? Because it's gross to watch someone spit. You already saw me throw up; I'd rather you not see me gargle all that grossness and spit too. You can turn back around now."

She wiped her mouth, feeling only a little more refreshed. She could still taste the bile at the back of her tongue.

"You don't think it's gross?"

Laetus turned on his heels and shrugged again once he faced her. "Tis simply natural. Throwing up isn't pleasant, but I wouldn't be repulsed by something like that. More than anything, I'd just be concerned."
"That said..." He held his hand to the side, and out popped one of the extra mochi balls from dinner. He held it out to her. "Water doesn't clear the taste. This should help."

Maddie took it and gave him the water. "Thanks."

She took a large bite, happy to taste something else. "Hey," she said, then waited to finish chewing and swallow her food before she completed her sentence, "I know what I want my wish to be."
