The Lilac Music Festival was cruising along with beautiful flowers blooming and live music. Thanks to the diversity of Manta Carlos, different styles of music were performed at the festival. There were things here for everyone. No fans were left out; the headbangers, club shakers, and emo ravers all had something to enjoy. However, this post isn't about the listeners. Rather, it centers around one of the performers. You see, last month a young woman moved from California to Manta Carlos. She was an attractive ex-stripper that was down on her luck. It would be to her fortune that she met a famous (and definitely notorious) figure on the island. This man offered to make her dreams come true. She noted her seemingly childish dreams of becoming a popstar. Instead of dismissing her, he grinned and agreed to make it a reality.
Now she was standing backstage about to perform at her debut concert.
She felt nervous and excited. Was this a dream? She could hardly believe it. Even the practices she went to before felt like a blur. Was this really happening? Maybe she should pinch herself. She pinched herself. Nope, she was absolutely awake. This was real. This was happening right now. Her dreams as a little girl were about to become true. And they referred to America as the land of dreams. Ha, that was bullshit right there! She knew that she invited those she cared about and also gave them full-fledged access. It wasn't like she had to invite a million people anyway; heck, to be honest, Klaus didn't even need one to get in, but she sent it anyway. She wanted to be sure that the man that helped her get to this point would see her first show.
It was a simple set of songs; the first would be her introduction song. It was her bragging rights/Let-Me-Tell-You-Who-I-Am track. The second would be a soft but strong ballad. It was the one that made her the most nervous; it was a very intimate song that exposed some of her pain but also went on a triumphant note at the end. It could also be considered a big "Fuck You" to the hurtful figure mentioned in the song. The third and final one was more or less an awesome dance pop track to end on. There was sexy flair to it and the moves in that were the most complex out of all of the songs. It didn't have as much of a message as the other two songs; it was really more of a party hard kind of thing to rev up the crowd after the touching song finished. While she had some influence and input writing the songs, they of course weren't entirely written by her. For once in her life, she received a lot of help, and all that help went towards putting on an awesome show.
As her ears heard the loud speaker switch on, she perked up. Now it was her time to shine. Despite her nerves, she felt ready for this day. Everybody went into formation and took their starting spots for the first song. Naomi took a deep breath and went out there.
And she absolutely killed it.
Her debut concert was stellar. She not only showed off all of the amazing dance moves she could pull off, but she also revealed that her vocals were amazing. She had a powerful singing voice accented with Spanish. This was most prevalent in the ballad where towards the end she belted out a note that left people speechless. The wild applause after the initial shock was immense. The ex-stripper--no, new star felt incredible. She found herself moved to tears. As she went into the general public area, she tried to cover up her tears of joy with her usual smug confidence. However, Nao just couldn't stop grinning. She tried to find someone she knew among the flock of people. Considering the success, that might have been a possible problem.
