Blink. Oh, she threw it too fast. Whoops. Then again it was hard to see small objects like that so she couldn’t fault him on that one. The card stock was better albeit a little tougher to throw just because she had to throw it at a certain angle. If only they were really awesome looking cards instead of coasters…

Anyway, she was forced to wait for people to pass…and wait…and wait…Good gravy did everyone have to get up and grab beer at the same time?! Now she was just getting impatient—No wait there. She pulled her arm back…and threw! The white coaster sailed off at a wide angle, zipping past a tipsy guy who nearly spilled all of his beer in surprise and banked hard, sinking into the bulls eye right beside the pen. In fact, the two objects were so close, they were practically touching. ” If oy’ could make things teleport, now tha’ would realleh be inerestin’!” She smiled almost too cheerfully. ”Shoulda’ made tha’ two sandwich deliveries instead!” It would give her more of a reason to see him during her breaks!

Meanwhile, some people took notice of the pen and coaster embedded into the dartboard, wondering where the hell those things came from.

"Well, shit."

Jacob slumped back in his chair at the sight of the coaster embedding itself in the dart board next to the pen. He had expected that the coaster would, at best, bounce off the bulls eye and drop back to the floor. He was NOT expecting something like that to sink into the board at all. So Lenn must have had one hell of arm and wrist.

"I guess I'm out of forty bucks. Unless you wanna cash it all in for something else~"

Yes, he was going there. Those kinds of favors were easier on the wallet and much more fun to carry out.

"Geez. I guess I see why you're gonna be the cover model for a gun calender. You're a crack shot!"

His mind drifted back to seeing Lenn at the photo shoot, and he sighed wistfully at the memory and the prospect of maybe seeing her in that kind of outfit later.

"So you think you could, like, put a hole in a golf ball with that rifle you posed with? If they let you use it, somehow?"

Oh, with the look on her face when he said that? She was definitely going to cash it in for later! Even for him, she’d wear her ‘work clothes’ any time. After all, she did say he got the backstage pass! Anyway, he complimented her and that felt really good inside. She nervously chuckled and scratched her head. ”Oh c-c’mon it wasn’t a big deal…” Oh boy, now he was asking if she could hit a golf ball with the fifty cal. Wow, that was something she really had to wonder about. ”Well oy’ don’ see woy not it’s all about th’ timing!...Though honestly, oy’ don’t think there would be any golfball left if oy’ shot it with a fifty cal. Thing’ll explode, oy wager!” Well shit. Now she was going to have to try it.

Well dern. She got so carried away that she didn’t notice how quick she was to jump onto the topic of guns. Ah well, it was a safe assumption. It made sense that if she modeled for guns, she’d be able to use them, right? ” Oy’…like to shoot guns…S’like a hobby of mine, oy’ guess,” She sipped her beer as well. ”Been able to do this stuff fer as long as oy’ can remembah’, but oy’ say yer gift is cooler~”

"A pretty girl who can handle a gun? Damn~"

Jacob had moved closer to Lenn so he could put his arm around her shoulders and hug her. It seemed like the initial nervousness of meeting someone for the first time had worn off. The two of them were talking freely with each other and sharing a couple of drinks. But unlike just being friends, the night would probably end with the two of them still together, possibly at his place.

"I've practically never handled a gun before. The only time I can remember was when my dad tried teaching me how to shoot back on the farm. Recoil gave me a bloody nose and I never asked to try again."

He reflexively rubbed the bridge of his nose in remembrance of that little ordeal. When Jacob was young and still living on the farm, he was not a complete stranger to guns. His father owned a few and used them around them fields to keep annoying animals out and stuff. But other than the one incident that bloodied his nose, Jacob never handled firearms.

Since they were at a sports bar, Jacob felt inclined to indulge in some bar food. So he put in an order of wings because, well, he liked wings and Lenn did not seem so uppity as to not enjoy them as well. In the meantime, Jacob's hand sneaked down a little under the table to rub her thigh.

"So you can shoot guns and I can swing a sword. We're like a warrior couple or something. You think we should quit our jobs and become secret spy assassins? Heck, you wouldn't even need to quit modeling. That's a great cover! I would need a cooler cover though..."

She leaned into his embrace, feeling quite pleased that he was impressed with that snippet of her talent. She could have even taken it a step further and put an apple on his head, but that could be saved for later! For now, she couldn’t help but laugh when he told her about the brutal way he learned about recoil. She learned about it the same way..Only it dealt with a tactical Benelli and a broken collarbone. That stitched itself up in three days, but those were a painful three days she never forgot when handling shotguns.

Then he started talking about …that and she choked on her beer. He had no clue how spot on he was about that. She was years ahead of him. She easily turned that coughing fit into laughter as if she were snorting while drinking her beer. ” Issat so?! Fwahaha! That would be sumthin’ wouldn’t it? Loike a mista’ n’ misses Smith! Oy’ mean…” She was leaning into him, toying with the very fingers that caressed her thigh.”Yer cover’s jus fine realleh. No one would suspect a teacha’ offin’ people as a side job. Heh! Or maybe you could have been a lawyah’…Y’know, servin’ yer own brand of justice~” She teased and played with a coaster.

She was having a great time, but she was practically dying on the inside. He had no idea…

"That would be pretty cool. Samurai Lawyer~

Jacob was nearly overcome with imaginary television promos for a high-concept procedural with that very title. He almost lost himself in the thought as he tried to discern who would play his wacky comic sidekick, who used nunchucks.

Feeling Lenn lean into him was a more than welcome sensation. Even in the middle of the busy of the sports bar, he felt like they were alone in some way, cuddling together even as they drank their beers and watched people investigate the pen/coaster combo stuck to the dart board. Jacob made a mental note to plan something more private and quieter in the future. Not that their current date was anything less than fun and lovely. But a moonlight picnic would be a nice occasion too.

"Y'know, Lenn... Since I came to this island, I've been kinda looking for someone to... spend my personal time with. I've made some nice friends and all, some of whom are women too. But you're the first that I feel like I got something really special goin' on with.

You make this old man feel like he's in his heyday again."

Lenn might have had her share of quirks, what with her brash behavior and superhuman aiming skills, but everyone had their nuances. Compared to other women Jacob had tried to pursue, foolishly and otherwise, she seemed... reasonable and easy to connect with. She had no extravagant behaviors he needed to account for nor was she a too-troubled girl that let him get too close. Lenn was just... A good woman.

She burst out laughing. Samurai Lawyer...Well, it did have a ring to it. For now though, she hoped he'd stick to the teaching gig because he was good at it. Gosh...They probably looked like a really good couple--It was just too bad that there wasn't a mirror close by or anything. She thought back to how they first met in that club. Everything happened out of pure chance. If she hadn't been contacted by Specter, she would have never met such a fine man. She never would have been sitting in that club and if anything, he would have been talking to someone else while she was busy ventilating someone's skull in another country.

To think that...There was more to life than pulling jobs. Money and work only got so far...And she found herself never wanting to go back to that.

Never.

Then he started to confess to her and she remained silent, head tilting upward to listen. My...Did he really feel that way? She felt her chest getting heavy--no wait that funny feeling was from her heart pounding. She smiled, tilting her beer left...and right before setting it on the table and turned to him, staring at him with those lovely lavenders for the longest time. " I'm...glad you feel that way, Jacob. When oy' came hea', oy'...didn't wonna make friends. I didn't want any relationships of any sort but...You came up to me and..." She bit her lip. "bein' with you these past few days...You changed m'mind."

"It really was total chance that we met, huh? Ain't that something?"

That was something Jacob had not considered until they both had given their little confessions. His intentions back at the club were, at best, to relax with someone new and maybe make a new friend. It might have been a lady friend, but the urge to try and get somewhere with her did not occur until they both started dropping flirtatious hints. Even then, he mostly meant to get a number or secure a night together with her. Then... Something happened. They clicked. He was thankful and a little astonished.

Jacob's green eyes met her lavender gaze, and it was readily apparent that they both knew that there just might be something special going on. It was not a conventional way to meet a person that felt so right--club, lingerie shoot, sports bar--but unconventional was what made it fun and interesting.

"Aw~ Look at us, Lenn. Gettin' all sappy together~"

He hugged her close and gave her a kiss.

"We should be havin' a bit of fun while we're here! Besides, there are better ways to express what we're feelin' right now once we get outta here..."

A hint of red could be seen on his dark cheeks. His feelings for Lenn were definitely true, and he want to have a nice romantic moment with her, but a sports bar did not seem like the place for it. They had beers and wings. It was a time to enjoy each other's company with merriment. He would rather save the romantic and intimate stuff for when they headed back to his place or her's. Not that he wasn't still playful. The wandering fingers on Lenn's thighs were definitely in a playful, naughty mood beneath the table.

Kiss taken! He was right; they should be doing something since they were there. Of course, she was having fun regardless and even squirmed against his ‘itching’ fingers. ”Yeh yer roight~” She chuckled and squirmed out of her seat. ” So let’s play a few games b’fore we head out! Oy’ bet there’s sum’ blokes ‘round hea’ that don’ moind a good challenge,” She winked and pulled him out of his seat, dragging him off towards the billiards. She ended up finding a group of poor dumb bastards and even dropped a wad full of cash for the game. The man and his friend did the same, snickering in the belief that this was going to be easy earnings. They looked like a troublesome bunch, but they were no match for her and…

”C’mon, luv don’ be shy! You’re gonna help me win this game,” That bold statement had the guys muse and chuckle amongst themselves. Clearly they didn’t see what she had done to the dartboard. Good! It means she can pocket an extra three hundred dollars tonight. ”No sweat, roight babe? Oy’ luv pool. Some easy earnings here, oy’ say,” She casually mentioned and handed him a stick. She chalked up her tip even with the guy across the table frowning at her confidence. ”Don’t take us lightly, sugar tits. I’ll be the one taking the pot tonight…” His eyes roamed up and down..and stayed in a particular area just below her face. ”That, and more.” Some guys snickered at the hint, but Lenn remained calm almost in an eerie, cheerful manner.

”Oh, oy’m sure. Say luv,” she turned to Jacob, tuning out the snickers and gave him kiss.”Do me a favor an’ break the ice, please?” She winked. This was going to be great!

”Yeah…Ladies first,”

Lenn did have to do some squirming to get out of her seat, and Jacob's embrace. His fingers were having too much fun and they did not want her going so soon. She got away eventually, and then suddenly he was the one being tugged and pulled on. He quickly finished off his beer and grabbed the basket of wings to take with him before they were both off to play some billiards apparently.

Jacob thought that they were just going to play a friendly game with each other, but Lenn obviously had other plans.

"I'm not being shy. I'm just... wondering what's going on."

The wad of bills Lenn threw down was enough to get him to stop eating the wings for a second, and then another second when the men threw down their own wad in acceptance of a high stakes game.

"Uh, so I'm on your team?"

He was finally forced to put his food down when the stick came his way, and the other guys were making eyes at Lenn. His first reaction was that of any male. Jacob felt the heat build on the back of his neck and he wanted to say something or hit him. His second reaction was a calming one. Jacob was not some hotheaded boy who barked at every stranger. He was a grown man and he could just tell the men to quit it. But Lenn was also taking it well, and Jacob was already more than aware of her tough attitude. If there was a problem, she would handle it and probably not need him saving her.

Still, he stood up taller and took his place beside Lenn, showing that the two of them were together. A team. A couple. And if they messed with her, they would have to mess with him too. The kiss sealed the deal, and he was in.

He made comment about the "ladies" thing, and stepped up to the cue ball. Setting the stick and aiming, Jacob tried for a good strong shot. But he was not at all skilled in the game, so he had no idea if the way he broke it was good or not.

"Now, uh, lets get this party started!"
