Never in her life did she feel so guilty for lying. What the hell. It made no sense. Actually ever since she met him, things have gone the complete opposite! She now had a relationship, she was doubting Specter and that six-digit pay, and now she was considering something she hadn’t before; A normal life. A normal life with Jacob where she didn’t mind going out on dates with him or stopping by the academy just to drop him off some bloody lunch. She was thinking about these things so much…But how could she do all of that and continue to do what she did? She had mingled with so many bad people in the past; dangerous people that could possibly throw Jacob’s life into chaos if she didn’t stroke her client’s ego and that was the last thing she wanted happening. No, what felt worse was the possibility of Jacob never wanting to speak to her again.

Maybe she was just being overly-dramatic about this, but there was a solid reason why; she didn’t want to lose him. He wasn’t stupid; eventually he’d find out and most likely that would be a deal breaker…

Oh, she was spacing out again.

His gaze snapped her out of her daze and she smiled. How sweet of him to ask about her well-being. ”Feelin’ amazing thanks to you~” She sat down beside him and enjoyed her own mug of coffee. He had the really good stuff. It calmed her nerves just a little. ”Oy’ was thinkin’ maybe if you didn’ hav’ anythin’ to do, we could go to the park tomorrow…Oy’ hear it’s a realleh noice place to visit.”

Just enough time had passed between his question and Lenn's answer for the silence to start to become awkward. Jacob tried to fill it by sipping the hot coffee. After she answered, Jacob wrote the momentary pause as nothing more than morning, er, afternoon grogginess. He assumed she had not been up for that long before him, so she was probably just shaking the sleep from her head as much as he was at that moment.

Her compliment was heartily welcomed by Jacob, as the memories of the previous were still very much fresh in his mind. He chuckled and looked a little smug, while other parts of him were tempted to try and follow up. But alas, he was drained and sore.

"I'd love to go to the park with you, honey. I think..."

Jacob tried recalling if he really needed anything done tomorrow.

"Yeah. I think I can swing that. Paperwork can wait until some other day."

He clinked his mug against her's softly.

"But we can plan that later. I think two people here need to clean up and then take it easy for bit. It was quite a workout last night~"

A good night, and a good morning. If Jacob was not on-board with using the L-word with Lenn before... Well, he was still not totally convinced given their short time together. But that was the only remaining obstacle. Everything else seemed right. Perhaps another day or week or two, and he would finally be confident enough to say it. Maybe even sooner.
