He was breaking every one of their rules by being here, but Lochlann didn't care.

He stood outside Addy's door, his hand hovering infront of him, and Lochlann was wondering if he was making a mistake. He'd brought Lamby with him, too, and the sheep was sitting patiently at his feet like a dog. Tucked under his arm was a large shopping bag filled with the usual stuff he supposed someone needed when they were sick--chicken soup, orange juice, a box of tissues, and some herbal tea bags--and Lochlann had his back-pack with some other things he thought he might need as well.

Lochlann took a deep breath and finally knocked on the door.

He hoped she wouldn't be mad when she saw him.

After all, it was kind of his fault she was sick.

Addy hadn't thought that she really would get sick. She had been fine; she had immediately drunk some hot coffee and took a shower, and she only sneezed once or twice... or thrice... that night. But ever since she woke up, she's been feeling like her head was being crushed from the sides, and the bridge of her nose felt the same way.

And she was shivering. She was curled up in her bed, under a thick comforter, hot, but shivering.

She flinched when she heard the knock on the door but then she realized that it was probably Lochlann. Since the guy probably knew she was sick.

She turned her body towards the door's direction and pushed herself up. Oh god, she felt so heavy. She felt like the bed was pulling her back down. But she tried to get up, and then quickly went to open the door.

She opened it immediately, keeping herself hidden behind the door as the rest of the room was revealed to Lochlann. And then she peeked with only her head, giving Lochlann a smile as a greeting. "Hi Loch," she tried to sound as usual but the colds were obvious in her voice.

She was red from the heat of her fever, but her lips were pale, so pale they looked gray. She was in her pink pajamas, and walked there barefooted.

She looked down to see Lamby, and finally opened the door fully so she can come closer and pet the sheep. And then she stepped aside, gesturing for the two to enter. "Come in. Loch, will you be fine? You know I'm sick. You might catch it."

"Hi Loch," she tried to sound as usual but the colds were obvious in her voice. "Did the staff allow you to come here..?"

"Ahhh," Lochlann said, choosing not to answer that question. He hoped he'd be able to get away with it since he had the sheep.

Christ, she looked awful, though. He wanted to tell her as much but didn't think that would really help, and if anything, it'd probably just make the situation worse.

Seeing her stirred something strange inside of him. Addy was his...something. Friend was probably the right word, but he felt like needed to protect her from whatever was hurting her (even though nine time sout of ten she'd be handling it fine herself) only he couldn't exactly fight a cold for her.

"I uh, I brought you some stuff," Lochlann said. He nudged Lamby with his feet and then had the sheep carry the bag.

"Come in. Loch, will you be fine? You know I'm sick. You might catch it."

"That's sort of why I'm here," Lochlann said. He reached over and picked her up, carrying her back to her bed. "I can't get sick, anyway, so don't worry too much about it. Unless you have some kind of magical illness that you're not telling me about, but I think we'll be okay. Besides, my job for today is making sure you stay in bed.

He realized there could be some connotations with that and said, "Eating soup and not being bored, I mean. I hope you're not vegetarian because that soup is extra chicken."

"Wha... I... Th-Thanks, Loch." She instinctively clung to Lochlann's shirt when he carried her. She would have protested, but she was worried that she might lose her ground right in front of him if she asked him to put her down. So she stayed put until they were back to her bed.

The unit wasn't very large. Studio type. But it was really organized, despite the lack of rooms. She had her bed in a corner, a low table on a carpet with seat cushions in another, a small kitchen area with a small fridge, a stove, and a cabinet of items below the stove, a small bookshelf against a wall, a door to the bathroom, a wardrobe, and her extra things piled up neatly beside it. And then a small balcony to the back, where there was a small sink.

"I'd love some soup," she chuckled. She was thankful her vision wasn't spinning, because more than anything, she was happy that Lochlann visited her, and she didn't want to be stuck dizzy in bed while he was here. Seeing him was also some kind of reassurance that he was also okay. "Oh, how are you? I'd be lying if I said I didn't worry last night."

"Wha... I... Th-Thanks, Loch."

She didn't protest when he picked her up and carried her to her bed, and that honestly scared him. She must be sick if she wasn't even up for a cursory poke in the sides or something.

Loch set her down on the bed and called Lamby over, having the sheep bring him the bag.

"Get comfortable," Lochlann said, and then he pulled one of the containers of soup out of the bag to pass to her along with some crackers and a plastic spoon.

"Don't go anywhere, " he told her, and then pointed a stern finger at the sheep. "Lamby, guard!"

The sheep gave them both a look like yeah fuck this shit and just commenced being adorable and doing sheep things.

Lochlann made his way to the otherside of her dorm to grab her a cup and pour her some orange juice. He set the juice down on the floor next to her bed (or on her nightstand if she had one). Unsure of what to do with himself, Lochlann settled on the floor besides the bed.

"I'd love some soup," "Oh, how are you? I'd be lying if I said I didn't worry last night."

"The weather outside is actually pretty nice, so I'm doing okay," Lochlann said, frowning. "You shouldn't worry about me. I'm always okay. You should worry about you. I worry about you. Agh I told you you were gonna get sick, you should have just gotten in my pants and everything would have been sort of not as bad ahhh!"

He rubbed his face in his hands and leaned against the side of her bed. "How are you feeling though?"

Adelene had laughed at how Lochlann tried to give Lamby an order, though it would've been even funnier if Lamby actually obeyed. Her voice sounded like she was holding in a cough though. And when she said "thanks," her voice almost didn't come out. She took the stuff Lochlann gave, honestly finding it sweet that he's bought them for her.

Note to self: do something awesome for Loch when I get better.

She opened the container for the soup and stared at the contents. She tried sniffing it, but she caught only very little of how it smelled like. Enough to make her stomach rumble though.

She was hungry, she realized it only now. She didn't feel like eating earlier this morning, and still didn't feel like it, but wow the soup smelled good with those extra chicken.

She was already going to try it out when... when she couldn't help but catch every bit of Lochlann's words and she made a wrong gasp, her breath hitching, making her cough. "What... What the hell..??" She was already red, but her face burned even more as she gave Lochlann a confused and bothered look. She attempted to glare but she couldn't, because she was just really, really embarrassed. "What did you just... Were you having those-- those thoughts while..." and her eyes would slowly lower as she'd unconsciously try to hide her face. "Oh god... p-pervert..."

"What... What the hell..??"

Alarmed, Lochlann sat up suddenly, and when she began to cough he put one hand on her back and rubbed in large, slow circles, trying to help.

But she made a face and then looked away and Lochlann dropped his hand suddenly, his voice coming out in a panic, "Addy are you okay is it--"

"What did you just... Where you having those-- those thoughts while..." and her eyes would slowly lower as she'd unconsciously try to hide her face. "Oh god... p-pervert..."

"What are you--?" he asked, his forehead wrinkled in confusion. He pressed the back of his hand to her forehead but, duh, of course she already had a fever so that was an exercise in futility. He was getting distressed when he realized what she was talking about.

"oh my god addy no, I meant wearing my physical pants, I wouldn't ask you to get in my pants the other way!" Lochlann said, and then flinched. "Well, I mean, I would, but not like that, and I promised I wouldn't ask you for things like that when we first met and that's a promise I intend to keep so trust me I wouldn't ask you to get into my pants in a non-platonic matter unless it was raining or--"

He was probably making this worse.

He shut up suddenly and dropped back to the sitting on ground next to her, pointing to the bowl of soup.

"Eat your soup," he ordered. His face was red.

Lamby made a face and continued to adorable.

Adelene didn't know how to react. Honestly, she had no idea how that stuff worked, so she wasn't sure if Lochlann was telling the truth or was just trying to squirm out of this embarrassing situation. She wasn't angry though, whichever is was. She was just embarrassed. She's never imagined that kind of thing but maybe she was also curious...?

Wait wait wait. Hell no.

She shook her head. Her fever must be making her the delirious one right now. When Lochlann spoke, she simply nodded, head still bowed, and then started to eat the soup, little by little. She had a cold but she could still taste the chicken and wow it was so delicious. She hesitantly looked up, wondering what Lochlann was doing or what he looked like at least, only to see him blushing too. What if he really did want that other thing? She might have to pretend she didn't know. After all, no matter what, she liked him. And she might start feeling bad if Lochlann suddenly goes away.

"I... Let's forget about it," she suggested. And then she took in some more soup, before finally offering a smile. "This soup... tastes great, where'd you get it..? Or did you make it..?" she asked.

Lochlann was greatful to have the subject changed, and the relief was evident on his face. He'd been having conflicting urges between picturing what she looked like wearing his shirt, feeling guilty over having those thoughts both when she was here and when she was so sick, and worry about how sick she was.

"I'm glad you like it," he said, resting his head on the beside next to her. "I wish I made it, but I never really had a reason to make soup before, so I didn't want you to be my guinea pig."

Lochlann's family ate their chickens whole.

"I got it from a burger place right off of campus. They make things other than burgers, as I think you've guessed, but they're all good," he said.

Lamby was just cute.

Lochlann sighed and patted her on the leg. He asked, "Do you need me to get anything?"

"Mm." Adelene hummed every now and then to let Lochlann know that she was listening, at the same time was finishing the soup at a steady pace. She was already done when Lochlann tapped her leg, she slightly flinched, but shook her head. "I don't think so. I just... Oh, I'm done with this." She handed him the empty container, smiling. "Thanks, Loch." She didn't know how many times she's thanked him now, but she'd be doing it a lot more times today if he was going to stay.

And then, with her hands free, they went limp on her lap, as she closed his eyes, and then she'd finally let the bed pull her down. She still felt heavy, and she could feel her own high temperature being against her bed. She was burning. But she was also cold.

"Lochlann," her hand searched for him, and she was quickly able to hold onto his wrist. Even her hand was hot. "Lochlann are you going to leave soon..? I think I'm dying... I don't wanna die alone..."

And the heat and cold was starting to get into her head, it seemed.
