I really just don't want to be here.

Mery nodded. "Yep. Won't be running a marathon any time soon, but I never would anyway." She replied assuringly. She pushed herself up so that she was half sitting, even though it hurt to do so.

Nicolas smiled. "Right," he said. He wouldn't have expected her to want to run a marathon after what she had just gone through, so it was totally understandable. The young man was glad that she was, in fact, feeling better, though. "Do you want me to get you anything?" he asked her quietly.

Mery shook her head. "Nope. Just stay here, please." Even if she had wanted something, she wouldn't have told him, because she didn't want him to leave.

The male nodded. "Alright. I'll stay here with you," he told her. To be honest, he didn't want to leave her side, either, just in case something went wrong while he was gone. Besides, he loved her way too much to want to leave her side. He was just asking if she wanted anything because he wanted to make sure there was nothing she needed.

I should ask her to marry me... Nicolas thought to himself. Not right now though, of course... totally wrong timing... plus I still need to get a ring...

Mery smiled. "Thanks." she said. He's like, the sweetest boyfriend ever. She thought. She squeezed his hand gently again.

"Of course," Nicolas said. He knew that this wasn't the right time to propose, but after this incident, he knew that he couldn't live without her. He had to go and get a ring today, and propose later on, even if she was still sick. He wasn't impatient, no, that wasn't it — he just didn't want to lose her before asking.

"You know what? I'm gonna go get you a nice surprise," he told her, kissing her forehead. "I'll get Sabriel to come down and watch you. I promise I won't be long, hon. Promise. Bye!" He smiled, and reluctantly let go on her hand, walking toward the exit of the hospital wing.

Mery nodded. "If you must." She said. She started trying to guess what it was as she waited. Haha. It would be funny if it was a lollipop, but I doubt that's it.

Sabriel soon entered the hospital wing, a smile plastered on his face. Nicolas was going to get an engagement ring... oh, this was hilarious, in his opinion. He laughed inwardly, and walked toward where Mery was, taking a seat next to her bed, his tail hanging over the side of the chair. "Hi, Mery," he said.

By now, Nicolas was running toward the city to find a jeweler. He sighed, looking around. Why didn't there seem to be one when he needed one? He groaned, and continued running down the sidewalks, trying to find someplace where he could get her a decent, gorgeous ring. She had to have the best, after all.

Mery smiled. "Hi, Sabriel. How are you?" She asked. She was already getting impatient for Nicolas to get back.
