Her eyes slowly shifted back to him, staring into his own ones judgingly, but then her face softened, because she didn't think he'd ever say something like that, and seriously, too, and she could only shake her head to negate him.

For a moment, she was relieved that that serious part of their conversation didn't last. While Adelene was still not able to take Lochlann's teasing very well, she was glad he was doing it, rather than continuing to wallow in such sad thoughts.

She threw him a suspicious glare when he said he had a surprise, and it lasted for a couple of seconds. Her heated face only felt even hotter as he shifted really close.

"This will be one of the very rare moments where I'll say I don't trust you," she said as she kept that sharp look for a moment more. But then she sighed and closed her eyes anyway. "But I'll humor you this time."

"You shouldn't trust me," Lochlann said, and as if to prove his point, he lifted her leg up onto his lap very suddenly and grazed his fingers down her shin and to her ankle.

He snapped something cold and metal around her leg, and then he'd let go of her, hopefully before she'd kick him.

"I wanted to get you something," Lochlann said. " But I thought a bracelet would get in the way because you use your hands a lot, and a necklace seemed....presumptuous."

He'd slipped a thin anklet around her heel, right above her flats, that wouldn't get in the way of her normal shoes, and the charms didn't dangle too much to be annoying. There was a sheep, a book, a gun, fireworks, and a pair of handcuffs.

"The real surprise though is that we're here."

He was grinning at her yet, as if warning her that he had more in store for her as the night went by.

There was no way Adelene could keep her eyes closed with that. She felt Lochlann raise her leg, and an instant reaction included a gasp, an even redder face, and her hands quickly holding the end of her dress down between her thighs, because she was afraid he'd see more of her down there if she wouldn't do it.

She wanted to lash out on him. But... she saw the anklet, and each charm instantly brought her back to a certain memory with Lochlann, well, except the handcuff. "What's the handcuff for?" She looked at each of them for a moment, and the way they caught her attention was enough proof that she loved it. "It's... beautiful..." Before she even realized, she's already mumbled the words.

She looked at his face, and really, she wanted to thank him, but she caught him grinning and suddenly, there were butterflies in her stomach, and her chest felt a ton heavier because Lochlann's grin made her nervous.

"We're here..?"

She pulled her leg back and looked out the window. The hotel looked fancier than she imagined, and it caused her to feel even more nervous. She swallowed down the feeling, before turning to Lochlann again.

He wasn't going to do embarrassing things in there, was he..?

"The handcuffs are for tonight," Lochlann's grin widened. "I told you tonight has a fifty shades theme."

For a second, there was a flicker of something across his face.

"I hope you like it," Lochlann said. "I like creating memories with you. Everything is better knowing I'm doing it with you."

For another second, Lochlann's face started to turn red as if he couldn't believe he could say something cheesy, but then it was gone because he was pulling out his wallet to pay the cab driver, kicking out the door, and practically jumping out of the car and onto the strip. He held his hand inside the cab for her and would help her out if she'd let him.

"It's a lot bigger than I anticipated," Lochlann admitted. "I've never been here but the restaurant is supposed to be really good."

A few people glanced at them with interest, trying to figure out who they were. With his long hair and frantic vibe, Lochlann came across like some sort of rockstar taking his girlfriend out to dinner.

"Are you excited?" Lochlann asked. "Because I'm excited. I've never done something like this."

There was a small pout on Addy's face when Lochlann revealed what the handcuff was about, but she forbade herself from reacting violently, because they were already outside the fancy hotel and she didn't want to cause some commotion. Lochlann looked really great in his suit and it would only be proper for her to try to look good in the dress, too, so she had to act appropriately too.

Besides. She wasn't used to him saying all those cheesy stuff. She couldn't even hide how taken aback she was, yet the glimmer in her eyes showed she was happy.

He was out of the taxi soon enough, and she gingerly took his hand as she carefully got out as well. She could feel the eyes on them, but she was pretty sure they were all for Lochlann. They wouldn't notice a petite girl like her. Shifting her feet a little, she could feel the anklet's charms dangling against her skin, and that helped her gain some control of her nerves.

But she cannot stop the way her heart was racing and raging in her chest. She huffed, her hand cold, her grip tight, against Lochlann's. "Excited..? A little, maybe. R-Really nervous though. I haven't been to anything fancy like this myself."

Thankfully, Lochlann seemed to know what he was doing. Hopefully he really did know.

"Don't be nervous, be excited," Lochlann told her, giving her hand a gentle squeeze. "It's like an adventure, only what's the worst thing that can happen? I mean, I suppose they could throw us out, but I don't have anything that bad planned."

He led her through the walkway and into the hotel, chatting briefly with the concierge for directions to the restaurant, and then heading through the huge casino.

"It's sort of like being in another dimension," Lochlann whispered to her as they walked. He'd gotten even closer to her and he didn't let go of her hand once.

He perked up suddenly when he saw the restaurant, and then turned to her, still giving her that obnoxiously happy grin. He wanted her to know that she was the reason he was so happy, but he couldn't quite put it into words.

Instead, he asked, "Do you want to play a game?"

Even though she's managed to convince herself that the eyes were on Lochlann, Adelene still couldn't shake them off from her skin, especially from her thinly-covered back. She still felt naked. And this time, she felt naked in public, which was probably the most embarrassing thing ever to any person. She'd clutch the shawl with her free hand to assure herself that she was clothed, and her other hand would cling tighter to Lochlann.

She was like a lost innocent girl almost hiding behind Lochlann when they passed the casino, though she managed to stay away from his back and instead just kept their distance at a minimum beside each other instead.

"This is definitely a different dimension," she said, looking around. The only fancy place she managed to picture before was the insides of the Titanic, and she wasn't even old enough to have seen the real thing. She's only read descriptions in books, and stuff about the Gigantic which was the identical sister ship.

She looked up at him at some point, curiosity momentarily hiding away her nervousness. "What game?" She was honestly too wary to give a yes, but she didn't want to say no to any of Lochlann's plans for tonight either. She wanted this night to go smoothly, and for that to happen, she shouldn't ruin any plans.... no matter how embarrassed she gets, hopefully. "If it's safe I guess we can play."

"We can make it safe," Lochlann said, his voice getting even more excited. "In fact, I think to go with the theme of the night, we should have a safe word."

He laughed again.

"Addy, do you want to know the real reason I picked this dress for you?" He asked suddenly. He got close and then put his hand on her bare back, his fingers grazing her skin and then resting there comfortably so she was tucked under his arm. "So I can do this."

He had so much energy. He felt alive. He wanted to jump off a building.

"We should pretend we've never met, and that this if the first time we're meeting each other, over dinner," Lochlann said. His mouth was running a mile a minute. He sounded like someone caffeinated. "This is how it could have been like if you didn't catch me watching you at the lake, maybe, or maybe you're a secret daring agent and I'm your target? I don't know. What do you think? I mean, we don't have to if you don't want to, but it could be fun."

He hadn't taken his hand away, so the entire time he talked he was absentmindedly dragging his fingers across her back in random patterns.

Right. Fifty shades of grey theme. Why did she even bother asking?

Adelene honestly didn't know what to make of Lochlann's blabbering. She couldn't blush any brighter than she already was, but at the same time, this embarrassment felt endless. She could suddenly feel his hand on her back and--

A weird expression crossed her face. She quickly covered her mouth with a hand, stifling that whimper as best as she could. She should probably tell Lochlann that she was ticklish and he shouldn't touch her so much, but one part of her was afraid he'll only tease her more if she pointed it out, and another part of her... actually liked this.

It was a surprising realization but... despite the embarrassment, she wasn't pushing him away.

She only nudged him slightly on the side with her elbow, after feeling like the whimpers have stopped bubbling up her chest. She'd glare at him, but she was pretty sure Lochlann knew her enough to know which glares were genuine or not.

"I don't want to pretend like that. If this were our first meeting, I'd be pointing a gun at you by now," she said, averting her eyes at the same time. "I'll be a terrible secret agent and I'll realize you're just a perv." She stuck her tongue out for a second.

If Lochlann noticed her whimpers, he didn't seem to care, although the truth was something like as long as she's not super distressed it's okay because fifty shades of grey night, fuck yeah!

He loved that glare on her face. It made him want to kiss her again, and the want was probably really obvious on his face for a moment before he got distracted by the idea of the game she didn't want to play.

"Still kind of sexy, right?" Lochlann laughed. "You realize that I am too perverted to kill, and you must let me compliment you throughout dinner? And then right when you go to kill me, I will do something so dramatic that you won't be able to kill me. You will be flabbergasted."

He just really wanted to say flabbergasted.

He giggled.

A legitimate giggle.

"Okay we don't have to play that. But I do have another surprise for you. And we should probably check in and get our table," Lochlann said. He did not remove his hand from her back, even when he started to walk towards the restaurant again.
