She may have had to wait hours for the field to clear but at the end of each day it was worth the wait. The field to herself. No one nearby who could get caught in an accident. And best of all it was encouraged of her to spend the time doing it.
Miya had waited till the last group of students using the field left before walking over to the storage shed where the targets she had requested to be made for her were kept. It took a quite a while for targets that could resist her flames to be produced but the end result meant less time and money spent remaking the targets.
Removing her jacket and setting it on a nearby bench Miya begins dragging the targets out onto the field and placing them in the areas her training required them to be placed for the day. Three grouped together, two spaced out over a yard, and then three of increasing height spread out over several yards. Today's goal was all about keeping the flames in one concentrated bunch and not let them scatter.
With her targets set up Miya walks over to her "starting" position and begins tying her hair into a pony tail to keep it out of her face. Her crimson t-shirt and black jeans clung to her figure as she pulled gloves out of her pocket and pulled them on. She was informed they supposed helped keep her flames from hurting her if a spell backfired. While pulling the glove over her right hand she looked at the burn marks over her arm and shuddered. A thought she didn't want to have at the moment.
"Alright. Focus. Don't let it disturb you Miya. You got this. Alright breath in and form the ball."
Stretching her hand out Miya stares at it and breaths shallowly as a tiny flame appears and soon erupts in her hand into a crackling flame like one would see in their fireplace before calming down into a fireball the size of her head. Well it was a start, not the size she wanted to start out with. Clenching the fireball in her fist the fire disappears as she thrusts her hand forward and launches the fireball into the grouped targets, the fire quickly spreading off the first target and creating a small vortex of fire around the three but unmoving from their dance to anything else. A smile formed on Miya's face from just what looked like something simple but was extremely difficult for her.
Then the wind decided that was a good moment to pick up.The flames suddenly flared up into the air from the gust of wind blowing over them which caused Miya to slightly panic before the flames died back down to the size she was maintaining it at. Well that almost went bad. For the moment Miya stared at the flames dance, using her willpower just to simply keep the flames from erupting any further as the wind began to pick up. She didn't want another fire breaking out and an excuse covering why it had happened.
