Why didn't it feel fulfilling when Wesker finally okayed? Mizuko sighed to herself and bowed her head just a little, while keeping herself just a couple of steps ahead.

The hallway led to a narrow stairway. It had an open door, metal, and cold metal walls as well. Most probably not the main stairs to the other decks, she thought, not minding the fact that she was with just one person and was going into a blind spot. She'd glance over her shoulder every now and then out of habit, just to check if Wesker was still following.

Their eyes met just quick enough for Wesker to see that her unstable reactions a few moments ago already disappeared. Now she was simply looking around curiously, obviously not having been to this part of the ship before this moment.
@"Nightstripe" I feel like it's a crappy reply please tell me if you want me to change/add anything...

Wesker simply followed her casually, his shoes beginning to click against the metal when they transferred off the carpeted section of the floor. He had already visited most of the interior of the ship, even these side passages meant more for maintenance then a thoroughfare. Still, he glanced about the corridor as well, appreciating the rawness of the construction.

He made note of her calm returning, a small amount of that predatory glint returning to his eyes. When she turned her head back to watch where she was going, he carefully stretched out a hand and snapped his fingers next to her ear, intending to startle her. Mizuko was just so fun to mess with, bless her.

They stepped out of the stairwell in the large room lit by golden lights. The sound of slot machines and cash registers filled the space over the din of people playing the games and generally bustling about. Wesker stepped out in front of her, glancing about the space before casting his eyes back at her. "Where you hoping for a dealer or should we find our own table."

The snap of Wesker's fingers exist against the metal, and had instantly blown a wave of vibrations to Mizuko's ear. Of course the girl would be startled. The immediate reaction was her jumping and going rigid, a small stunned "eep!" escaping her lips before she turned to Wesker again only to glare at him. "Senpai, how rude!" She pouted, although she had no idea that she was doing it. "I could've slipped and fallen, what would you do if that happened?" She wasn't really upset but... would it kill Wesker to stop messing with her? She didn't think so, and she hoped he'd stop soon.

When they got to the casino, Mizuko honestly wasn't sure if what to do next. "...Let's get our own table," she answered, even though she didn't look at him and was instead already scanning the place for a spot. She settled with an unoccupied table in the card games area. There was a dealer on stand by, but Mizuko went ahead go run u to him and ask if they can take the table for now. And since the participants of this "field trip" were granted access to pretty much everything in the ship, the dealer had no choice but to let her be. The deck was handed to her, and she turned to Wesker and waved it in the air for him to see.

Wesker laughed at her adorable little squeak, his composure breaking for a few moments, or perhaps not. He returned to his smile and just shrugged when she asked what he'd have done if she'd slipped. "I'd simply have caught you."

He walked casually after her as she darted ahead to procure the table, chuckling a little as he caught up. "Yes, yes, very good you have procured the necessities for the game." He pulled out the chair for her and waited for her to sit down before stepping over to the place across from her. "Were you going to deal, or shall I?"

Mizuko shrugged. She muttered a small "arigato" as she went to the seat Wesker held for her, and she waited for him to settle down as well, before she leaned over the table a bit to give him the cards.

"Please do it. I'd rather not mess up, since I'm new to poker and all." She flashed him a sheepish smile. She let go of the cards and leaned back against her chair, waiting. "I pretty much know how it goes but I have a feeling you have more knowledge about this."

Wesker simply continued to smile and took the deck from her. Before long he had the cards dancing, flitting around between his fingers as he shuffled them. The dealt two cards to each of them, face down on the table. "How would you like bets to be placed? Po you just want to play first to x wins, or should we acquire some chips to bet with?"

If they required chips for their game, Wesker would explain the blind system. "The person to the left of the dealer is the big blind, and places a set amount into the pot. The next person is the small blind, and sets in half of what the big blind was. We can then look at our cards and place bets or fold" He flipped three cards face up in the middle of the table to get them started.

"Chips? But our bet isn't monetary." Mizuko shot Wesker a suspicious look. "Or is it?" Her eyes went back and forth his face and the cards dancing in his hands. She wasn't good at shuffling cards, at least not as good as Wesker was at the moment. She put her own hands on the table and brought them together, fingers entwined.

"I suppose it's better to use chips to determine the winner though."

They've acquired some chips and Mizuko dropped chips equivalent to a hundred bucks to the pot. She honestly didn't care how much they started with, since they acquired the chips for free and their bet wasn't based on the value of these chips anyway. It was just to get the game started.

She glanced at Wesker, wondering if she was doing this right. "That's okay, right?"

Wesker raised an eyebrow from across the table. "Why would I want your money Tsuushi-san? I have plenty of my own." He set the deck down one side of the others he set out.

"Typically there's a set amount for the blind, which determines whether the table is a low or high stakes game. That is fine." He set fifty dollars into the center of the table out of his chip and gestured to the cards he'd set out. "We each have five cards, and we want to make the best set of them we can. we can discard from our hands and draw the same amount from the deck. wagers may be placed before and after the discard and draw."

He glanced at his cards and saw he had a decent hand already lining up, and set another fifty in the pot.

Mizuko's face turned sour for just a moment, just a brief moment, before she completely dropped the expression as she received her cards. She pulled them up to her, carefully. And then she glanced at Wesker and tried to read what cards he had.

She could go for a flush. She had all diamonds.

"Funny how they let us have these chips," she muttered. And then she called for the round. "They technically don't matter, do they?"

Wesker's cards would net him a straight at best. He was one card away from that and two from a full house. He discarded a couple and drew more, no dice for him. Still he set another ten into the pot.

"The chips are something of a requisite part of the game. They have a value, even if it is imaginary. It's much like information, they might mean nothing to one person, but the world to another."
