There was something oddly satisfying about plucking and pinching the many bits of wood out of Wei's back. It may have been a rather morbid and oddly personal favor on a superficial level, especially with the splinters that made Wei bleed a pin head of blood before the wound closed up. But the more he did it, the more he became satisfied with his work. Every little bit he got out of Wei and tossed away, the smoother his back became, and after awhile Orion got a real sense of accomplishing something for the hairy young man.

But not everything could be good forever. Wei's pleased shuddering after the endorphins kicked-in was a little uncomfortable. Orion had nothing against men making other men feel good, but that was not his forte. Besides, he already had a girlfriend.

"I could see you two running together."

Orion just had to pipe in about the plans the two were making about elections.

"Typically, a main runner and their partner complement each other in order to appeal to a broader range of constituents. A serious president and a more people-friendly secretary could help endear both of you to the students."

He tossed another couple splinters away.

"But that's just, uh, my opinion on the matter."

Wei understood that there was no connotation behind the grooming Orion was doing (and he honestly was glad for that) he just couldn't help it. It had been a long time since anyone had picked through his fur, and it didn't help that the pain followed by the soothing feeling made him shiver. But he did his best to repress it all the same--something about a running candidate getting their back cleaned by a random student probably wouldn't go over well in the polls, but he guessed walking around with splintered wood in your back would go over much, much less well.

His tail gave another twitch as he turned to look at Morgan. "I don't see why we couldn't be running buddies."

Actually, he could think of quite a few logistical reasons why they shouldn't be running buddies, but he would save those concerns for when he didn't feel like a porcupine had just finished furiously making out with his back.

Morgan thought about it a little more as the monkey boy had the splinters taken out of his back. Having another running partner would be good, both Morgan and Anh Sang were semi serious, so having a running partner who was a bit goofy would help them, he would be comic relief... of course Morgan wouldn't say those words directly.

"Perhaps we should work out the two of us running together then, I feel like we can both help one another." Morgan defiantly wanted him, but first she needed to figure out what he wanted to do as secretary, and if hed even be a good secretary if he got the job...

"Annnnd there we go, man."

Orion plucked out the last of the splinters and, just to make sure he did not miss any, he slid his palm up and down Wei's back a few times. It was a tense and awkward few seconds. Tense because Orion was afraid he would irritate a splinter he had somehow missed during his check, and awkward(for other people) because it just looked like Orion was giving Wei a back massage.

"Yup. That's all of 'em."

He gave Wei a few light pats on his now splinter-free back.

"Okay, so now I gotta ask. Why is the school holding elections? Isn't it already run by the administration?"

There was genuine curiosity in Orion's words. To him, it made no sense to task the students with governing themselves when the school seemed to have it all under control with the faculty and staff. Then again, it was probably due to Orion never having gone to school himself, and still have yet to, that he did not understand the interlaces of school life and politics.

Wei nodded at Morgan. She'd always seemed like such a stick in the mud in class. She stuck so closely to rules that if they were an actual physical construct he was pretty sure her and rules would be joined at the hip. It was half amazing and half actually, legitimately frightening. The fact that someone could be so in love with rules baffled him.

But then again, he figured that having a president who stuck close to rules would be good for fostering order in the student body. He felt bad for Sid and all the other students that managed to throw that rave in the ballroom due to lax room-renting procedures.

He'd heard that it'd been a pain to clean up.

The last splinter came out. This one was the deepest in by far, and it resisted being pulled out, but eventually--with a lot of pain and gritted teeth on Wei's part--it came out. It felt good to have it out, and even better to feel Orion run his fingers through his fur, it almost felt like he was soothing it the pain over.

Still, he should probably swing over to the Infirmary just in case having shards of wood in your back posed a health risk.

Did having wood embedded into his back pose a health risk?

"Oh, yeah it is." He said, answering Orion. "It's more like... they want want the students to have some degree of choice in deciding how the school is run so everyone is happy."

Wei threaded his fingers together and stretched. "S'like... the secretary is in charge of planning and advertising events, like culture festivals and fairs and stuff that the school doesn't do too often. Wouldn't having more of those be fun?"

Morgan nodded to Wei, yes of course that was the job of Student Council, to create new events for the school to keep its students entertained. But Morgan wanted more than that, Morgan wanted to change the school, permanently. She wanted to create new rules, change and alter old ones, and create a better environment all around.

But she would say nothing for now, she would of course display her ambition to the school but she wouldn't outright speak about all ideas to change and enforce new rules. "Yes, and I seek to assist in that goal, ive got quite a few ideas for different events." she displayed a look of confidence as she spoke.
