Maria's eyes narrowed, not liking the look that Rachel was giving to her. "I don't appreciate being looked at like I'm crazy," she said calmly. "So don't do it." She shook her head, continuing. "As for why that needs to be done, it's school policy. They need to finish up their last classes, and of course say good bye to their friends. Do you expect them to do that all in one day?" She paused, raising an eyebrow. "And by the way, do you have any proof your this Rachel Jenson?" She needed proof, or she wouldn't let Andrew or Dani go with her.

She didn't like this woman... if she thought the other children were strange, then she must have thought her own kids were as well. And if that was the case, she wouldn't allow the woman to take her kids away from this school. They didn't deserve to have their mother think they weren't normal.

Rachel frowned. "Of course I have proof!" She said indignatly. "There's no way AT ALL they could leave now?" She was getting a little desperate by now.

Rachel rolled her eyes. She dug through her Dior purse and took out her wallet she opened it and showed Headmistress her driver's license. "Happy now?" She asked.
"Nope, sorry. There's no way at all they can leave right now."
Rachel frowned. "Then is there a hotel nearby?"

Maria looked at the drivers license, and nodded, putting a forced smile on her face. "Happy," she said. When asked if there was a hotel near by, she thought for a while. "Well... in the city, I'm sure, but the city's a long way away," she said. "You're welcome to stay here if you wish."

Rachel put her wallet away. "You're welcome to stay here if you wish."
"Stay...HERE!?" She asked in disbelief, her eyes wide. "I'll stay in the city, thank you."

Andrew suddenly had a beyond brilliant idea. He took a step away from Addie and started walking towards his mother's car.

Maria laughed. "And what's so bad about this place? You never did answer my earlier questions, you know," she said.

Adelina blinked when he stepped away from her. She watched as he walked toward his mom's car, and went after him, just to see what he was going to do.

Rachel cleared her throat. "Well, you know, the whole 'powers' thing is just a little...creepy." She said.

Andrew opened the hood of the Volkes wagon. He started messing with the wires.

[OoC: I know NOTHING about cars at all... lol]

Maria tilted her head to the side. "How so?" she asked. "And, if you think other children with powers are creepy, then why don't you think the same about your own children? The kids here are just like yours. Maybe not exactly the same, but all the same." If she thought the other kids were scary, then there was no way she could say her own children weren't. And the Headmistress most certainly wasn't going to let children going to go to a guardian who thought they were strange.

Adelina raised an eyebrow. "What are you doing?" she asked him quietly.

Rachel didn't even pause before replying, "Yes, but here they can't forget about their powers. In London, they can! Because that's even too far away to keep connections with the students!"
Rachel hadn't always been that rude. In fact, she used to be alot of fun, but the last 12 years had been hard on her.

~
"I'm 'fixing' the car for Rachel. If she can't leave, then we can't leave. That gives us enough time to figure something out." Andrew explained. A moment later he shut the hood of the car.
