''Sounds fun'', Samael said, as Deith told the story of his and Fluffy's first meeting, the said creature being at Samael's side the whole time, trying to get familiar. The shifter pat him once, unsure whether it would be welcomed with a creature that was obviously as sentient and smart as Fluffy was, before straitening up, hoping that the small creature had had enough of getting to know him.

''It is not the worst way to meet a pet'', he said, looking down at the creature briefly yet again. ''Or a friend, really'', he huffed. ''I am wondering now though if he is the one behind this whole road trip'', the young man laughed. ''Have you driven me out of the city just so I could meet your pet?'', he smirked, obviously teasing Deith yet again. ''Because if that is so, I hope he is hungry because we have like nine more sandwiches to go through.''

I apologize, I had like absolutely no idea what to write O.O My brain just stopped

"No," Deith answered rather too abruptly, a hint of sheepishness in his tone even as he denied it. He glanced at Fluffy again, watching the Lonely walk away from Samael eventually, and disappear to the living room. He should offer Samael to take a seat over there, he thought. "Just... generally wanted to show you this place," he added, turning to the said man, "since I really felt like you should know, since I always go to your place and not just in the bar anymore, and..." Deith paused, looking for words inside his head to say next, but ended up shrugging only. He wanted Samael to come here. That's that, and there wasn't really any particular reason.

It wasn't like he wanted the guy to know that this house had days of smelling like blood...

"Besides," he grinned at him, "it's a road trip right? Means we could visit any place in the island. Have you seen the view outside? Really beautiful. Best viewed during sunset."

They left to continue their drive back to the city, but only after a couple of hours later. Even though they had lots of sandwiches from Samael's mom and already had coffee this morning, Deith had still offered some food before they left. He would've loved to drive the car into the forest, but unfortunately, his car might only get stuck in there, so Deith took the route right beside the forest, and drove back to the city.
@Clockwise Dream - we both probably exhausted our muse x_x sorry for the wait!

''I get it'', Samael said, smiling fondly at Deith. ''I was just joking about Fluffy'', he said, his head turning towards the living room when the creature had gone after finally getting enough of him. ''And honestly I'm glad we drove up here'', he said, still smiling, as he was still ignoring the darker thoughts in the back of his head, once again thinking about how that was that for growing up, indeed.

''Also, you're right'', he added, as Deith said that it was a road trip, which mean they could go anywhere indeed. ''The view is amazing, if nothing else'', he said, now thinking about the view of the forest and the sea opening to them outside the house.

''Right on time'', Samael said as they drove back towards the city, looking at the time and thinking how he would have just enough time to show and change, before helping his father open the bar.

''Will you be coming in or going back?'', he asked Deith as they neared the bar.

@Trahnael: yeah, I have definitely exhausted my muse somewhat x_x and by that I mean a lot xD Have to keep writing though, or I'll forget where we are again and what's the use of that xD

"You don't mind if I stick around, right?" Deith asked back, making one last turn on the road before slowing down to park his car near the bar. Once that was actually done and the engine was quiet, he leaned back a little, stretching. "I go back to work in a few hours. I might end up sleeping in if I go back home."

He honestly forgot about not being able to sleep this day. And he didn't mind really, despite beginning to feel a little too light, because he stubbornly thought it was worth the small sacrifice to spend time with Samael and mostly assure himself that the guy meant everything he had said.

"But," he turned to him, grinning, "I already have a feeling you're gonna try to make me rest. If you do, I'm gonna drive away this instant."

''I don't'', Samael said, looking at Deith with calculating eyes. He had, indeed, intended to try and make Deith rest, whether in the spare room before it was taken, or his own, if he could talk him into going upstairs. It seemed however, that his advances had failed before they were even made.

''Get inside'', he said, as he step out of the car. ''This way at least I'll know you haven't driven your car into a tree for a while longer'', he said, a smile still present on his lips, but not as bright as before. In fact it was just a bit biting, a little more sarcastic than usually.

''You'll still have to go with me back to the apartment, though'', Samael said, as he searched his pockets for the keys to the door. ''There is no need to start the preparations yet, and I need to shower and change before that anyway'', he explained, unlocking the door which lead directly to the floor upstairs instead of the one which opened into the bar.

''You still coming?'', he asked, opening the door.

"Yeah," Deith went out as well, taking his keys with him and locking the doors.

He followed Samael to the stairs and all the way inside, suddenly deep in thought, thinking of how they were finally back in the starting point of this road trip, how the air was always subtly heavy before this morning, and how it was much lighter now. He can never get rid of the things he's done in the past, and they've haunted him ever since the beginning. But Samael, the man currently in front of him, was able to convince him today that it wasn't as scary to face those skeletons in his closets, which he's hidden away paranoically to be able to pretend they didn't exist.

Deith felt a strong thump in his chest, as he kept his eyes locked on that man's broad back. A familiar sensation. But despite the relief and assurance Samael's made him feel, he was still too afraid to act clearly on such an emotion, even though... he really wanted to.

"Samael," he called, holding the said man on his left shoulder once they were out of the stairway, and turning him around, and then he took one step closer, and inched closer until he could feel the other's breath on his skin, but... as he thought, he was too afraid to risk destroying a friendship just when it only got stronger.

He moved away immediately and shot Samael a sheepish smile. "On second thought, I should probably go. I had fun today. Come over to my place some time, okay?" He took a few more steps backwards to the stairs, waving, before he turned around and headed back outside to his car.

Just a moment later, its engine roared back to life, and the sound faded into the distance.
