''You're welcome'', Samael said simply, pushing himself off the hood as well as he saw Deith stand up, grinning as he asked him whether he was ready to return to the road.

''Sure'', he answered with a small grin of his own, grabbing his now completely cold coffee, or what little it was left of it anyway, and the box in which there was somehow still enough sandwiches to feed a small army, before closing the latter and putting it on the back seat once again.

''Where are we going next, then?'', he asked as he sat down on the front seat himself.

Deith shot Samael a knowing smirk, but didn't answer, and instead went for the driver's seat and entered the car.

"Get in, and we'll find out," he said, settling in that seat and getting the engine started. He put his empty coffee tumbler on the holder beside him as he waited, turning his head to the other once they were both finally inside once again. "Okay, it's near the forest. But that's all I'm telling. No danger, I promise."

He began to steer the wheel to get to the main road again. No speeding, no rush, no tension. And then he glanced at Samael briefly and searched for the box of sandwiches.

"Do we still have enough food?"

''For the two of us or to feed a small army?'', Samael asked with a smirk on his lips as Deith slowly turned back onto the main road again. ''Not that it matters though because the answer is yes in both cases anyway'', he answered his own question immediately, before Deith even had time to think about what the hell was Samael Talking about.

''There is at least ten more sandwiches in that'', he explained then, pointing to the box sitting inconspicuously on the back car seat behind him, tucked away so that it doesn't wall down even when the car turns. ''I don't know how, but there is'', he shrugged in the end, looking at the road in front of them as they moved away from the beach and towards the forest nearby. ''So we don't have to worry about that running out any time soon, I think'', he finished as he tried to guess where it could be that Deith was taking him, raising an eyebrow as he proceeded the 'no danger' comment.

''You are aware that I spent a good part of my mornings running around these forest in my cat form, right?'', he laughed, still looking at Deith with his eyebrows raised and a questioning look in his eyes.

''I am very well aware of all the dangers of the forest, and the fact that only a small number of them can actually hurt you unless you're a complete fool'', he added then, as they continued down the road, towards their next destination.

"That's true," Deith agreed, his head slightly tilting to the side instead of nodding. He still couldn't get used to the idea that Samael was a huge cat, but he was pretty certain it was nowhere near as shocking as his revelation. He probably shouldn't add to it that he was once one of the dangers in there.

"So what's this about a small army?" he asked, raising a brow at Samael for a second, his smile twitching. "Did your mom think we're eating machines? Oh, I wonder if there's still a plain one."

It wasn't for him, but for someone waiting for them in their next destination.

Their drive was steady and fast, and the forest was in sight just a few more minutes later. But Deith took a different turn, and the car went uphill just before they could reach the forest's mouth.

It was a grassland at the top. The trees bordered it, and in the distance stood a solitary house. Deith stopped the car a few feet away from the stricture, giving it a long stare, not moving from his seat for a few moments.

"So, I bet you can guess what this place is," he said, smiling, but that smile was a little sheepish than the ones he previously made today.

''Of course it is'', Samael huffed, before smiling, and giving a small laugh as well as Deith asked whether his mother thought they were eating machines.

''My mother thinks everybody is an eating machine'', he said, a bright smile on his face as he answered. ''Though, to be fair, we usually are'', he added, thinking about the amount of food the four of them could go through some nights at family dinners, when even Michael dragged himself down to the city and away from the dorms. ''We'll go through them, I'm sure. And unless you've eaten all four of them, there are at least two more plain ones'', he added when Deith asked whether there was one still in the box.

Samael found himself somewhat surprised when just as they were about to head into the forest, Deith turned down a different road, leading them uphill, towards a grassland at the top.

''Is this your place?'', he asked, looking first at the house in front of them, then at the man by his side, a wonder at the thought of Deith showing him his home clear in his eyes. ''Looks nice'', he smiled, looking back at the house in front of them.

"Thanks," Deith was genuinely happy at the compliment. "This used to be a dream, you know. But my dream included a company, and that only came true recently."

He suddenly grinned at Samael, suddenly excited, and he grabbed the box of sandwiches from behind before opening his door and stepping out. "Come, the air is great," although it smelled like blood just a few weeks ago, "and I want you to meet someone. He's the most adorable thing ever!"

Deith led the way to the house, with his keys already in his other hand, ready to use it on the door knob the moment he got close. "I'm home!" he shouted to the still-unlit living room. Nobody responded, so Deith quickly turned the lights on and headed further inside.

The living room had bright walls and paintings hung on them. The curtains were light green, reaching the floor, and there was a set of long and one-seater couches surrounding a glass center table.

Deith was slightly pouting because nobody welcomed them home. "He's probably asleep," he muttered, turning to Samael. And smiling. "Follow me, to the kitchen. I bet he's there."

''Yeah, I can imagine'', he said, chuckling lightly at Deith's sudden change in behavior, somewhat amused by it. He liked it, though, the excitement, the wish to show him this house, a place where he lived.

''You have a pet?'', Samael asked, a bit surprised, as he followed Deith over the grass, towards the house, looking straight at the other man's back where he had been looking around, towards the trees and over the sea just a moment before. ''And it's adorable'', he repeated, entering the house after its owner, his eyes falling off Deith's back for just a moment, looking around curiously around what seemed to be the living room.

''Somehow, that's both really surprising and not'', he said, as he followed the other man into the kitchen, wondering what it was that was about to meet them there, considering that cats and dogs though still usual were not the only options for pets on the Island, and by that he did not only mean birds and fish as well.

Though, he thought, whatever it is that Deith owned it was probably not a fish considering he had expected it to meet them at the door. Or a cat, he thought then, smirking lightly to himself.

''Am I about to be jumped at?'', he asked, wondering whether he should be prepare to be attacked and ignoring the tingling of something bad in the back of his mind. He knew what it was as well as he knew that now was not the time. They had both had enou of that he though, so for now he chose to ignore those thoughts.

"Surprising?" Deith chuckled. He didn't really think of that, but he could understand, probably, considering he was very unstable. "Yeah, he's adorable," he repeated, walking towards the light switches to flip them. Then the light scattered, revealing his clean kitchen, a wooden back door, the sink opposite them, a counter separating the kitchen from the dining table, and to the right of the room was a cabinet and the fridge, the latter slightly open, and on the floor right in front of it were crumbs and other kinds of food remains surrounding a sleeping Lonely, his small stomach bloated.

Deith pointed at the tiny creature and smiled at Samael. "That's him." His smile briefly disappeared as he attempted a warning glare at the other man. "Don't you dare laugh at his name. I gave it to him."

And then he turned to the Lonely, crouching beside it and poking its side gently. "Fluffy I'm home. Don't sleep here it's cold, sheesh."

A few more pokes roused the Lonely to consciousness. It rolled around a little before getting up, sleepily staring at Deith and then at Samael.

"Nyam?"

Deith chuckled and rubbed Fluffy's chin with a finger. "That guy there is Samael. Be nice to him, okay?"

The Lonely curiously approached Samael. Deith stood up, looking through the sandwich box for the plain one he had inquired about, finding one and giving it to Samael. "He likes sandwiches. Try giving it to him," he said, grinning, shifting a little in his spot to close the ajar fridge door.

''Yeah, a bit, considering you never mentioned having any'', Samael said as Deith switched on the kitchen light, finally revealing a mysterious pet, which turned out to be neither a dog nor a cat, nor any of the other creatures Samael really knew about, but a fluffy, fur covered animal sleeping by the fridge, surrounded by different kinds of food remains.

''And yet, not really, since you kind of seem to be a type to keep an animal, really'', Samael finished, Deith already pointing the creature to him. ''Though I am not really sure if this is any kind of animal, really'', he said, looking curiously at the cute creature, which was apparently named Fluffy. Samael pointedly did not laugh, though he did smile as he watched Deith crouch down and poke the side of the creature's slightly bloated belly.

''Hello, Fluffy'', he said as he carefully extended his hand and offered the sandwich to Fluffy as he had been told to do. ''You were right, he is adorable'', he added, raising his eyes towards Deith and giving him yet another smile as he waited for the creature to do something regarding him, and the offered food. ''Though I am not sure we should really be offering him any more food, it looks like he ate half your fridge to me'', he said, looking at the creature before him which was round by nature probably, but was even rounded after having eaten what to Samael really did seem as half of the contents of Deith's not finally closed fridge.

The Lonely stared a couple of seconds more at Samael, before taking the sandwich. The bread was pretty huge for him, so Deith once again kneeled to assist him.

"It's a sandwich. You can eat it later," Deith said as Fluffy took a bite from the corner, as if only to taste it. "Nam!" came it's high-pitched voice before it took the bread and carried it over his head to the fridge. Deith stood up and opened it, and helped Fluffy secure it in there as he also checked what's been eaten.

"Oh no, he ate my cookies," Deith pouted. He closed the fridge again and faked a sob, but it only lasted a second because he showed that he really didn't mind, shrugging right after.

The Lonely meanwhile walked over to Samael, creating the usual tiku tiku sounds on the tiled floor with his footsteps, tugging at the man's pants later on. "Nyam?"

"He usually doesn't understand me but he's pretty smart," Deith spoke, smiling, watching Fluffy get himself acquainted with Samael the whole time. "First time we met, I was eating sandwiches and he tried to mimic me making one. But he didn't know at first it had something in it, and," he began to laugh softly, quite amused at the memory, "Fluffy was really amazed. Saying 'oooh' and such."
