There was panic. Panic in the air all across the ward, and, no matter how much he enjoyed it, it meant that there were people there, people that could catch him, and bring him back to the small glass room. He did not want that. It has been almost six hours since his last meal, and his mind was mostly clear, aware that the shadows were everywere. He had no controle over his power, no intention on doing anything, and everything he did, he did on instinct, and raw emotion that meant raw power. That's why they were so afraid of him, always, always, always afraid of him ever since he punched that boy, and punched him good, broke his nose, brook his teeth, would have broken his jaw, oh, only if he had the chance... Before he had noticed, he was out of the shadows and in the normal part of the hospital, and there were people there too, only, they weren't panicked, they were fine, a bit scared, children, mostly children, but wasn't he also just 18? Friends! They were friends to play with, yes!

The shadows in the corridor stiffened, the darkness becoming as heavy as blankat, and slowly moving, like a thousand little bugs crawling over the floor and ceiling. Nobody would be leaving anytime soon.

The conversation was going along, and some laughter was even had, but all good things come to an end.

Abel was a bit concerned about what the doctors were thinking, but he truly began to feel worried when Loch mentioned that he should be sedated. He probably shouldn't be pushing himself if his care takers were expecting him to be asleep. Least of all, he shouldn't have been trying to stand. His uneasiness came to a head when he saw what was happening outside the window behind Loch and Savannah.

It was so unreal to him that he didn't even get to call out 'look out'. The idea that the storm was out there, and they were in here had created the illusion that they were safe. That illusion had been utterly shattered alongside the glass from the window. He staggered back away from the window out of shock and fear.

The question if he was alright barely registered. He managed to collect himself a little during Damien's calm and cold assessment of the situation and announcement that he was leaving. The power outage meant that many of the patients' lives were in danger.

He looked up to the lights, still obviously disturbed by everything. They didn't flicker back on. What happened to the back up generator? He looked out to the hallway as Damien exited the room. The lights were out there, too. It wasn't just that the lights were damaged in this room. Something was definitely wrong.

After realizing this, he took a few steps towards Loch.

"Loch, I know it'll be difficult... but it'll be dangerous to stay in this room with the window broken... Let me help you out of here," he said as he offered him his hand. The idea of wanting to leave this place was prevalent in his mind, but he couldn't just abandoned the injured Loch there. That's when he noticed it... at first he thought it was just a trick of his eyes. Some dark shadows forming at the edges of the room. He quickly realized that it was not just some simple flicker of the light. Instead, the cieling and floor were being covered by some kind of swarm of dark black insects.

That fear of wanting to leave escalated quickly. He wanted nothing more to flee, but his noble ideals still wouldn't let him abandon the injured person sitting in front of him.

He turned away from the insects to concentrate on helping Loch up. He would try and get his shoulder under Loch's and wrap his arm around under his other shoulder. He'd drag Loch from the bed if he had to.

Every now and then Savannah would think of Loch's situation and the position he's in. Why wasn't he suppose to be awake? She couldn't get her head around it, which made her want to ask why!

Just as the silence kicked in there was a loud lightning crackle. There was something about thunder and lightning that sent shivers down her spine. Once upon a time she dreaded the sound, soon she came to marvel it. The added shattering of glass was enough to cause her head to snap to the source. Her eyes widened, much like a fox facing a set of car head lights.

She was about to speak up but the lights flickered and then died. Savannah stood up from the bed, she wouldn't be getting comfortable just yet. Her tongue clicked. "It appears I am together in one piece." She answered to Loch's question.

Her attention was drawn to Damien, he seemed rather calm about this. Then talked about leaving. "Leave? Where do-" She started but he was already off. "Tssk." She huffed. That boy was interesting at first, but to walk off a such she'd lost that spark. "Fool." She lightly spoke out loud.

Savannah clicked her fingers and a small flame erupted sprawling around her hand. It lit up her face and gave somewhat very minimal light.

She was enjoying herself till the room seemed to grow darker. The kitsune channelled some more energy into her flame, but it didn't seem to have much effect. If anything it didn't get any lighter. She shook her hand about quickly as if it help, which it didn't. "Do they think they are funny, trying to scare their new pupils with some magical prank." She said finally annoyed.

"I do not find it appealing to be mocked." She huffed. Then she noticed the bugs crawling, not just a few either. it was a carpet of them that stretched on and on. Now Savannah bared her teeth, her tails flared up with the ends of them now torched with fire. A couple of the of her nine additions flicked, shooting a ball of fire towards the bugs. All it did remove a few of them and scatter the rest. In other words it didn't do much.

All of a sudden the window seemed like a good idea, she spun round to face it only to find these bug things were also crawling in from there as well. "We are being toyed with, aren't we?" She questioned, throwing look at bother Abel and Lochlann.

A lot happened in the next few seconds, and it took Loch a delayed moment to respond to each.
"Storms aren't so bad. It's probably just the atmosphere of the hospital in conjunction with the lightning outside that makes it seem worse than it is…..I should leave. They won't be able to run my physical with the power down anyway."

He probably would have rolled his eyes and called him an ass, but he sounded so damn polite while saying all of it, like this was totally normal, and instead Loch just blinked. How the hell was he supposed to answer? The atmosphere had nothing to do with it—it was the idea that they all could have been impaled by a freaking tree or something. He thought about saying just that, but Damien had already left the room.

It appears I am together in one piece” Savannah said, which relieved Loch. That’s all he needed to have happen—girl gets killed in the same room with him and no one is going to believe a story about a falling tree, even if the proof is right in front of him.

The shadows in the corridor stiffened, the darkness becoming as heavy as blanket, and slowly moving, like a thousand little bugs crawling over the floor and ceiling. Nobody would be leaving anytime soon.

This was a bad time to start hallucinating.

"Loch, I know it'll be difficult... but it'll be dangerous to stay in this room with the window broken... Let me help you out of here," Abel said and offered him his hand, and Loch just stared at it because he wasn’t sure what Abel meant. He was focused on the black shadows dotting the walls, and he knew he shouldn’t be, because they were clearly hallucinations, so why did they give him the chills?

"Do they think they are funny, trying to scare their new pupils with some magical prank.

….but why would Savannah say that unless she was hallucinating, too? Or had he hallucinated all of them? His mind was whirling and he was just sitting there, oblivious. He’d been so full of adrenaline a moment ago, ready to bolt, but now it was like someone had hit “pause” on his body while everyone else reacted.

"We are being toyed with, aren't we?" Savannah looked at Loch and Abel, and Loch realized Abel had moved next to him to try and help get him up from the bed.

”This isn’t a hallucination.” He said. The dark was crawling and crawling, not alive but certainly not like the dark Loch was used to. He swung his feet back onto the ground, nodding towards Abel. ”I can walk mate, but thanks. I just..can’t get this—”
His fingers worked at the IV in his arm, peeling back the tape (sure enough, there was a ring of glue that would be there for the next two damn weeks) and closing his eyes, jerking the needle out of his vein and pretending that’s not what he just did. He rubbed his inner elbow, opening his eyes, but everything was still the same. He left the patch on his arm. He might need that if he wanted to get through this mess without a body count.

”I’m assuming none of you are doing this?” Loch indicated towards the darkness. He didn’t think so, but he had to ask to be sure. Outside, the storm continued, but it was oddly silent inside the room, even though water and hail was flicking in through the opening in the wall, the tattered curtains flapping in the breeze.

Loch side stepped the windows completely, avoiding the water, even if it meant stepping right into the crawling darkness. He did not like the sensation. Loch couldn’t drown, it was impossible, but for the first time in his life he wondered what it felt like. He rammed up against the dresser in the side of the room, trying to push it onto the ground.

”Abel, want to give me a hand?” he asked, pointing to the mess. He was in no condition to be trying to knock furniture onto the floor, but Loch had an idea. ”I don’t know about you, but I’m not going out that freakin’ door….and Abel is right, we can’t stay in here, not with whatever the hell is going on. ”

He tilted his head upwards. The vents. They were doing maintence down the hall, they should be able to get out.

”Savannah, think you could get the top off if we lifted you up? ”

The darkness was by his feet and he kicked at it again. The movement dragged on him and all he wanted to do was sit back down and sleep, but screw that. Loch was a predator, and right now he felt like prey.

He kept an eye on the blackened pit that used to be the door. He had the feeling that something bad was going to happen, but he couldn’t figure out why. Maybe Damien was right. Maybe it was just a storm in a hospital, and maybe he was just hallucinating…but if that was the case…what hadn’t it stopped?

((Ooc: omg you are all so awesome with the plot building! I’m sorry that this post is so long and it doesn’t really do much, but I’m trying to give enough free reign to Clock (who turned this from an episode of Scooby-doo into a horror movie in 2 posts!) and give Kuro a way to have Damien meet up with them again quickly.

SL, you do awesome reactions and amazing scene setting, and Savannah, I want to hug RP-Savannah because she makes me laugh. You all made my day!)

Hahah, well, I hope it's at least a good horror movie. I seem to have find myself in this psyho stuff going through Michael's head... Ironic, sine I don't watch horror movies. Ever.

Michale was angry, oh, so, so, so angry. Angry enough to scream, to bolt, to tear apart, and hit. So he did. He did all of that, and more, as his anger poured out of him, and into the darkness, like an electric shook running through a dead body, giving it life.

They were trying to leave, all his little friends, to leave, and go, and leave him here, oh, no, n, no. That wasn't going to work. He was angry, angry at them, oh, will he make them pay for making him angry and trying to get away. He could feel the darkness growing from his words, a high pitched scream, and more. All those little bugs od darkness walking over his skin, with their little sharp feet, piercing trough his skin until he could smell blood. Oh, will the blood make them grow, grow, grow, oh, will them blood make them grow... He sang.

At first, there was nothing. A dead silence, as the sound of thousand little feet crawling around stopped. Then, there was a slow rustle, and the sound of something ig moving trough the air. There was no more bugs all over the floor. Michales anger gave them enought strenght to... Grow.

'Graaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah.'

Gh, I suddenly find it hard to write this stuff. Is it creepy enought? xD Also, for that last 'graaaaaah' thing, I didn't know how else to write down something big, like a lion, or a plain old monster, growling trough the air

shadows coalesced around Damien, that much he could see. The directional scanners started going off in his head with its usual AI
"Doshi nai sa: Activating directional scanners. Analyze current situation." He ordered.
"Directional scanners activated. Assessment of threat is nominal, modification for read error due to unfamiliarity 37%, concept match, obtenubration. Recommended course of action, ectoplasmic disruptor mode."
Following the AI suggestion Damien activated his sheath, removing his striker pistol just before it closed against leaving only his leg visible, an action facilitated only by the fact that his clothing was holographic.
"Acknowledged, preparing ectoplasmic disruptor mode. Analyze percent chance of success."
"Percent chance of success estimated at 48%. Based on previous excursions against obtenubration it is likely to succeed but particle analysis reveals unknown substances and lack of substance both similar and dissimilar to spectral plasmids." The AI reverberated.

Ectoplasmic disruptor mode was meant for ghosts, it was supposed to be for in the event of wraith attacks but this was not exactly the same and he wasn't any more sure than the AI of its success. Besides that he only had so many shots.
"Activate ectoplasmic disruptor mode. He ordered coldly as he felt his chi balance shift and the pistol shell expanded revealing a pulsing blue light that beat almost like a heart. With that he headed back to the group, hoping that he would be able to do something, but simultaneously feeling helpless. With that he fired off two rounds into the shadowy substance and crossed his fingers.

((OOC: and lol wrote myself into a corner. It's up to you to determine if it works and/or how well. I think this is beautifully written guys :) ))

Abel nodded to Loch, and was happy to see that he was able to move on his own.

Abel quickly moved to help Loch with what he asked for. He didn't think he'd be playing games at a time like this, though he didn't quite understand what he was getting at. Abel's powers worked best when increasing his natural physical movement. As such, he had trained himself up physically. The loose dress shirt hid a well toned athlete's physique. The dresser or medicine cabinet, or whatever it was, came down quickly enough. It was really a matter of unbalancing it. He didn't have to use his powers at all for this.

He only understood the plan after Loch looked up to the ceiling. Abel naturally followed his gaze to see what he was looking at that was more important than fire being danced and guns being fired. There he saw the vent and it all became clear.

He noticed an odd patch still on his arm, but didn't pay it much mind. Seeing Damien return safely, also put one of his pressing concerns to rest. He seemed to fire some kind of gun at the strange darkness. Before that, Savannah had summoned flames and danced them around like t were an extension of herself.

Seeing the others use their powers to defend themselves and others made Abel swallow hard. It brought up a stir of emotions and conflict. He thought about using his powers, too, but found himself hesitating.

Perhaps he would not have to. Perhaps, these others were enough to save the day. He did feel guilty about not helping, but the last time he tried to play hero, he wasn't prepared to pay the price. He didn't think he could ever be ready for the weight of that kind of responsibility.

Still, he was thankful that there were those who were ready. It was thanks to them that the swarm had dispersed, but that was just a small respite. The distant roar echoed down the hallways from beyond the darkness. Distant as it was, it was not nearly distant enough for Abel's taste. Furthermore, he knew it would become increasingly less distant with each passing moment.

"I don't think this is a game," he also answered Savannah. He didn't want to frighten her, especially after she managed to keep such a laid back attitude about their situation, but he couldn't help but worry. He wanted to make sure she understood how serious this was. The right amount of fear kept people aware, ready.

He quickly climbed up upon the toppled furniture, but found the ceiling still out of reach. He wondered why this room had such a high ceiling. Perhaps it was for certain equipment, or maybe it was a special precaution for treating meta-humans.

Whatever the case, it made escaping this room that much more difficult. Perhaps that was the point.

He turned to Savannah, to see her answer as Loch asked her if she could get that vent off.

There was an energy running trough darkness that was not his own, a silver line on the creatures back that could not have come from his darkened mind. The creature roared one more time, afraid of its own light, before the strange trait disappeared into the night. There was only darkness now, again, darkness that was safe, and warm, something he could call his own. But where did that energy come from? From his little friend, the one that shot the pistol into the shadow? How silly of them. As if something like that could hurt the dark like him. He laughed, his laughter echoing the halls, before he let the creature loos.

He stood at the beginning of the corridor that led to their room. It would take a creature less than a minute to reach his new 'friends', maybe a bit more if it ran in somebody else first. He stood there, lost in his own thoughts, rocking back and forth on his feet, hitting his head on the wall every time, but he didn't seem to mind. Suddenly, a smile stretched over his face, yes, he will do that.

He stepped into the shadows that made the walls, then waited for a second for something to happen. He did not know what, or when, he never did that, he just ran on instinct, pure instinct and power, so much power hidden inside these walls. He ran a hand over his face, feeling the feral grin under his skin, then shoot a hand forward, stepping out of the wall in the room. He wanted to see what the creature would do.

((OOC-Ok, I think that something like this made sense, considering that the gun was made for ghost, and his darkness has nothing to do with ghosts, but the 'life energy' he fives it that gives it form, and since the gun was also energy of some sort, the darkness just absorbed it and moved on xD Also, it's up to you whether they see Michael or not, his hidden inside the shadows, but maybe the scener of some sort could catch him xD))

Oh this was splendid, more than so, it was drop dead hilarious. She was highly expected the more experienced students to tell her it was all part of a game. Instead Lochlann was the first the burst the bubble, but dare he say she was hallucinating! Then Abel added which didn't come across too well either. Her fiery spirit had shifted from annoyance to means of survival. She had lived on this Earth for far too long to fall victim to an institute that happened to hold those of supernatural capabilities.

She spat a look at Lochlann at his accusation. "My method of fun does not involve the harm of others." She sneered, her all happy mood gone. The fox began to retreat close to the other boys, extending her arms to provide what little vision they had.

Only when she heard her from Lochlann did she turn round, though he was not the first person she saw. Her eyes had caught the now bare chested Abel standing on a table, for a moment a happy thought ran through her mind. This wasn't the time and place anyway for such nonsense.

"Can I?" She simply uttered out. The fox extinguished her hands, leaving the tails alight for vision before quickly moving to where Abel was. She climbed up to stand in front of him, she also had to look up to him. "Go on, mind where you touch boy." She warned with a small hint of a smile. She understood there was a threat, but they weren't caught just yet.

Just then she heard such an alien sound, two loud cracks that came from outside the room. Was that Damien?

Damien charged back through the door, making it with surprisingly less resistance than he thought he would have but to the tune of;
"Energy signature disruption, cataloging anomaly for further analysis at a later date, file encrypted and emailed to home station servers." The directional scanner chimed in his head as if Damien hadn't already realized the failure involved in the pistol's firing.
"It appears I may have incorrectly assessed the situation at hand and-" He stopped mid sentence when he saw what the others were trying to accomplish.
"And apparently we have decided to form a pyramid..?" He uttered, the steam from his admission of error now leaving his voice. Savannah standing directly in front of the one named Abel and Loch being held up by him. Evaluation of the situation indicated that they had decided to try an escape route of some sort but to him the vent seemed less conventional at the moment than sticking together to the front door, albeit less expected.

His eyes darted to the Kitsune and he couldn't help but think that she wasn't quite as scared as she probably should be... then again neither was he although that was from the help of wetware, otherwise he probably would have been tripping over his own feet trying to escape. The nightmares he already had from the things he had fought against clouded his mind for a moment before he could snap back to reality.
"At least it's not a plethora of spiders exploding everywhere." He thought to himself.

Every mechanical physics theorem that he had memorized couldn't explain the nature of the darkness at hand and he had no assessment other than the fact that it was from unnatural origin or someone in the room had an ability they weren't flaunting... and that was the thought that led him into his second train of logic where he was now standing in a hospital, in a school, with a highly classified firearm that wasn't supposed to technically exist as far as the world knew which wasn't exactly helped by the fact that it looked like a laser pistol with a blue bulb on the end pulsating like a heart. It occurred to him to use the confusion to try to convince the students that he was a figment of their imagination but such a silly ploy would most likely only draw more attention to his gun which he slid silently back into his sheath.
"So has anyone managed to figure out what we do after we get to the vent?" He inquired.
