Breath of Fresh Air

What happened was an accident.

Eros hadn't exactly wandered into the deep parts of the forest; he meant to stay away from it, his only reason coming to the woods was to look around for the species of plants he's randomly read while being in recluse in one corner of the school library.

He had tried to reach for a flower hanging losely from a tree, not expecting that the land beneath him would crumble and send him crashing into the cold river.

He didn't know how to swim. But even if he did, he wouldn't have had the chance to get himself out of the water anyway, what with the flower he was trying to reach falling on his head while still attached to a hard branch. He blacked out underwater, not even realizing that water has started to fill his lungs.

The next thing he sensed was the liquid rushing out of his air passage as he coughed and gasped and his chest constricted painfully at the force. His eyes opened after the painful rush, blinking in attempt to find out where he was. The first image that greeted him was that of a slightly familiar woman, though he was probably still to out of his senses to recognize who she was.

"What..? Where am I..?"

"For... Forbidden... Huh..?"

Eros, still pretty out of it, tried to sit to get a better look on his surroundings. Slowly, he became conscious of just how cold he was, and the motion he made caused his vision to swirl. His head was painful, too. As if he had hit something hard. There was a large gray bruise peeking above his left temple, but it stretched to the upper parts of his head. It wasn't bleeding, at least at the moment.

He narrowed his eyes at Milk, still trying to recall if he knew her from somewhere.

"Eros... My name's Eros..." he answered, blinking slowly, as if the action itself was already a drag. "I think I... fell? My head hurts." He tried to touch the painful part of his head, only to end up flinching away from it. He was starting to get back to his senses, and the first thing to come back was worry, because he didn't know how long he was unconscious, and hopefully it hasn't been more than two hours.

He wasn't sure if his wards were still functional or if they're expired.

"Thank you, Miss... Uh... May I know what time it is..?"

"Miss... Milk. Thank you. Uh..." Eros shifted against the tree. Fortunately, his back didn't seem to be injured. "...No, I don't have powers of healing but..." his eyebrows furrowed. "I can't go to the hospital either." He looked at Milk straight in the eyes, wanting to show her that he was serious about what he was saying. Although his head was still spinning, he was confident he'd be able to walk again in a few minutes.

"I need to go back to the Academy, Miss Milk. I don't want to trouble you anymore but can you give me the directions?" Eros smiled. He's given her a bit of a trouble already, and he was thankful that she and her bear saved him, but to him, it was important to go back alone. The woman didn't seem to be acting weird yet, but he wasn't going to wait until she does. Hopefully, she lets him go.

Eros groaned, both in slight pain and in protest. He held onto the tree and pulled himself up, and despite almost falling again he managed, because he insisted to go alone and wanted to prove that he can.

He eyed Milk then, finding her to be staring at him with quite the blank expression there. That was a relief, to be honest. It would mean trouble if his power worked on her.

"I can walk. It's just a head trauma, miss. The spinning will go away soon." He tried to smile. He tried to show that he was actually really thankful for her, and hopefully she didn't take his not wanting anymore help as ungratefulness. "Aren't you in the middle of something though? I'm... I'm sorry for bothering you."

"W-Whoa hey-- ow--!"

Eros tried, he tried to push himself away and even after Milo's successfully grabbed him, he still continued to squirm. This was embarrassing and he couldn't let her do this to him.

"Put me down, hey... M-Miss Milk, seriously." She was strong, he'll give her that, but... "This posture is hurting me, let me go, please."

He tried to push himself away once more, hoping his feet would touch the ground easily.

"I can walk, really. I'll hold on to you if you're okay with that but there's no need to carry me."
