The Captain was laughing at her, but he didn't seem like he was joking, at all. Adelene tried to wipe the shock off her face, and resumed standing straight in front of him.
She watched Mackenzie walk around the desk, and before she knew it, he was already extending his hand, and was giving her the kind of praise she wanted and didn't feel awkward accepting. She grinned, taking that handshake as she looked into Mackenzie's eyes-- well, eye.
"9am, it says in my schedule," she answered. Today though, she came over at eight mostly because she was too excited. She didn't sleep last night, either. She hasn't been getting any good sleep recently. "I can't wait to learn from you, Captain! This is exciting!"
