The student pouted absentmindedly, and turned her gaze away from her instructor. Instances like this always did strike her as awkward, and all she could think about was why was she stuck in this situation and how could she unstuck herself?
Tell him she needed to leave was an option.
"Uh... Anyways, I need to go, Captain," she said, curving her lips upwards briefly as she nodded. "The gun model's not gonna finish itself. I might as well continue working."
