Adair Marino

Although Adair has very little presences because of his lack in height, he makes for it in his very 'exotic' looks. With a darker complexion, white hair, and bright green eyes, he's definitely easy on the eyes. He's always been cute, ever since he was a kid, and that 'cute' trait has followed him into adulthood. His short stature doesn't help; standing at a measly 5'3'' and has to typically bend his neck to talk to most of his guy friends. He takes good care of his appearance, visiting a hair salon often to keep his hair trimmed how he likes it. He wear most of the white locks shaggy, the back is grown out just slightly in a mullet-sort of look, although less redneck of course. His hair is soft due to good treatment and he can be a little picky when it comes to the hair products he uses as well as whatever lotions and soaps he uses for his skin. Adair has no tattoos, but he does have a few piercings, both his ears are pierced, his tongue and his belly-button is as well. As for style, he is pretty typical of a boy his age, he follows fashion trends, within reason.

Adair Marino was born to a single mother, a big-shot scientist. Adair would never know his biological father, or the truth of his birth, but his mother was his world. He was born in the summer and was taken home bundled up by his mother to a gated community where she had a fancy three-story home. He grows so fast, his mother can barely keep him in clothes because he grows so fast. It wasn't long before the adorable little boy, with his dark skin and white hair, turned four years old. Adair goes outside to play a lot, he loves the sun on his skin and he really likes the little girl next door. She's the same age as him, which is totally weird, but she's nice. Her name is Arabella. She teaches him how to climb trees. She becomes Adair's best friend. They start throwing paper airplanes out their windows to send notes to each other after playtime is over. For her birthday Adair buys her a remote-controlled airplane, it's much cooler to send notes with than paper ones. The same year, Adair's mother starts seeing a man, his name is Parker. Parker is alright at first, he is always playing basketball with Adair. Ari says she doesn't like Parker all that much, Adair doesn't know why. Two years later, Adair understands why. Parker takes him to the doctor a lot. A lot, a lot. When Adair’s mother starts being uncooperative about Adair seeing the ‘doctor’ so often, Parker gets very angry. Adair doesn't like that, he doesn't like seeing his mom upset. Parker makes him so angry. This happens for awhile, Mom says she's fine, it's just an adult problem that she can handle. Adair tells Ari and she urges him to run away with her, but Adair doesn't want his mother mad at him. He doesn’t want to leave his home.

Soon Adair is visiting the doctor twice a week or more. The doctor invites more and more people to watch as he solves math problems with ease and practices advanced scientific procedures at 8 years old.
Arabella cries to him a lot, tells him he needs to leave, she is worried about him. But Adair is too scared. Parker does this for another year. Adair's mom comes home and says she's quit her job, Parker is angry. Parker stay angry for awhile and when Mom goes out to the store, Parker takes Adair to the doctor one last time. It's awful and Adair feels so much pain when the doctor sticks the needle deep into his back, into his spin. He was relived when his mother came through the door, when she saved him. There is a lot of screaming, so much violence, but soon the room goes quiet. Everyone is on the ground. Adair cries as he walks out of the doctors office. Then he runs away.

Ari is so worried, she sits by the window watching. When Adair comes running to his house, she leaves her own and chases after him. Adair tells her everything, and how he is so scared, about how he can never go home, ever again. He is ten years old, he is going to run away, Ari says she won't let him go alone. They leave together.

For two years Adair and Arabella try to survive on the street. they beg for money, for food, for shelter. There are some kind people in the world, but also some bad. Benji is an older man, a big guy, but he seems like on of the good ones. he takes them in. He says they are small and flexible and can climb. He teaches them about aerial silk dancing. It's so beautiful, Adair is hooked. They work for a performing troupe called Cirque des Monstres. They make money, people love them. Everyone in the troupe is family. At first everyone thinks him and Ari are siblings, they learn otherwise. They then start to think Ari and Adair are dating, they're not. The troupe knows it, but after awhile the two start letting strangers believe it. It didn't matter to them. Adiar knew it was odd, Ari slept in his bed, but she had nightmares. Adair had to protect her when she slept, like she did when he was awake. Right before Adair turns 13 he meets Kaede. Kaede is much older than him, but he's sweet and kind. Kaede didn't mind helping Adair become more flexible. He was like Adair's big brother. Ari likes him, it makes Adair feel better about it.

Adair loves his work, he loves performing, he loves traveling, he loves meeting new people, he loves his troupe family. He doesn't love Benji. Adair is 15 when Benji starts looking at him differently. Benji is charming, and one day uses that against him, he calls Adair in late one night and tries to rape him. Adair fights back at first, but then he gets scared, so scared he can't move. He can barely breath, he can only grasp weakly to Benji as he is violated. It hurts, it feels disgusting, he gets as far away from Benji as he can and pukes. He feels wet, dirty, gross. He can't find Arabella. But he finds Kaede instead. He doesn't let go of Kaede. He cries a lot. Kaede gets him out of his clothes and cleans his soiled body and patches up his wounds. Kaede comforts him, gives him something to eat and massages his shoulders and back. Eventually he stops crying, Ari finds him, he tries to sleep. He can't get the feeling of Benji out of his mind.

A year passes and Adair goes out to the store to get some sweets, he has a craving. He comes back to the troupe’s condo and see's Kaede covered in blood. Benji isn't moving, Katherine, the bellydancer, is hysterical. Adair has to do something, he can’t let Kaede go to jail! He springs into action. He tells Kate to take care of Kaede, clean him up, put him in fresh clothes. Adair drags Benji's body to the troupe’s van, tosses it in. He bleaches the whole room, wipes every surface, he remembers everything he ever learned back at the doctors. He drives the van far out of town. There he tries to think of the best way to get rid of the van. He decides to drive it farther away and set it on fire. He walks back, it takes hours to get home, by then Kaede is long gone. Kate is still hysterical, but she said she made Kaede leave. Adair is sad, depressed, he cries a lot, but he knows it's for the best. No police come for Benji. Good riddance.

The troupe falls apart, everyone goes their separate ways. Him and Ari go back to their nomadic life. Soon the hunger drives Adair to sell his body for the first time. Arabella doesn't approve of him doing so. She's upset at him when he continues to do so. They fight, they go their separate ways, but they still keep each other's number. Adair takes all his earnings and savings and lives off of it, he meets good and bad people, it's not fun. He meets other sex workers. He can't do Aerial silks anymore, it reminds him too much of what he missed. He picks up crossdressing from a few coworkers, he works all night and sleeps all day. Soon he is moving around like a nomad following the herd. One night a man in a tight black suit picks him up from the curb. The man takes Adair to a diner and explains everything. Everything. Then speaks of an island he can go to and be safe, taken care of, where he won’t ever have to be an experiment ever again. Adair takes the tickets in hand and boards a boat, never looking back.
