Appearance Description:
As a human, Nupac blends in very well. His Mayan heritage shows in the dark tan on his skin and in his long wiry hair, black like most of his people. Nupac has been blessed with good looks, at least that is what people have said. His face is symmetrical, balanced, with a sharp jawline and thick brows. His physique is quite androgynous, he is slim at all points of his frame. He carries himself on small shoulders and hips, nothing is broad about him. Yet he is not curved like a feminine body, so he doesn’t usually have his sex mistaken. As a human he wears his long hair tied into a braid (or several) and even when styled, it still reaches significantly down his back. After blending in with humans for much of his life he has learned to follow style trends, and tends to follow a more Bohemian style. He opts for lots of neutral, earthy tones, with beading and patterns that remind him of his past culture.
In his true form, Nupac is a frightening sight. At the size of a brown bear, Nupac’s true form is more canine than anything. Covered in black fur that is essentially waterproof and tends to clump into clusters that resemble spikes. He stands on four legs, with a long tail roughly about the same length as his body. His face is that of a canine, but his paws are more of that seen on a raccoon. All four hands are capable of gripping, holding, and climbing. At the end of his long tail is another paw, completely under his control, that is also five-fingered with a pseudo-thumb with which he can grab things.

Positive
Dislikes: winter, overly spicy food, crowds
Habits/Hobbies: Meditation, cooking
- Articulate: He takes his time in what he says, and tries to think through any comment he makes before he makes it.
- Calm: a steely man, Nupac has practiced keeping calm and collected his whole life, making it hard to crack his cool. He is strong under pressure.
- Forgiving: Hurt him once, twice, three times, as many as you like... he will likely still let you back into his life, no matter how many times you hurt him.
- Observant: As quiet as he is, Nupac tends to see things others do not. He pays attention to little details and logs them in the back of his mind.
- Reliable: Nupac will always pull through, he will get done what is asked of him regardless of the challenge. He is the person you can always count on to get the job done.
- Non-competitive: Nupac tries his best to stay out of the fire, literally. He doesn't like to fight, and prefers to avoid conflict. He isn't a peacekeeper by any means, but he will be the first to flee from a fight.

- Reserved: Going along with being private, he tends to be the fly on the wall, he keeps to himself and minds his own business.
- Cautious: Nupac is always taking light steps, constantly. He is worried of upsetting the balance of his life and so he is very skittish and shy when it comes to change or making decisions.
- Clumsy: Unfortunately, Nupac tends to be a bit of a klutz. He drops things on a regular basis and trips on seemingly thin air sometimes. He refuses to deal with anything too fragile for this reason, which is why he likes to stick with paper and computer work. He has also gotten used to falling down without injuring himself.
- Perfectionist: When the man has his eyes on something, a project in mind, or a job given to him, he will complete it perfect. He will settle for nothing less of himself. He will disregard his health, be it physical or mental, to get to this level of perfection he has set for himself.
- Weak-Willed: When it comes to conflict, Nupac tends to go with whatever social flow is happening. Rather than stir the waters, he will go along with whatever everyone else is doing and is easily convinced to do so.

The Ahuizotl is an Aztec mythological creature that lives near water. It is canine-like, walking on four legs with a long tail. It's four paws are much like a raccoons which can be used to climb and grip things. The fur on the Ahuizotl is thick and dark, and essentially waterproof, but tends to gather up in clumps that resemble spikes. Unlike most canines though, Ahuizotls are much larger (around 5ft. tall at the shoulder) and at the end of their tail is another paw capable of gripping and holding. This creature is terrifying to locals because of its tendency to consume humans, particularly the teeth, nails, and eyes, by dragging the human underwater and drowning them. Those that are drowned by the Ahuizotl are said to go to the paradise of the god of rain.
- Functionally Immortal: Aging does not effect him as it does humans, as long as he is not injured or falls to illness, Nupac can live for thousands of years.
- Shapeshifting: Nupac can shift between two forms, as notated in his appearance section. The process comes smooth and naturally and is generally completed within a handful of minutes.
- Aquatic Respiration: Nupac can breathe in both water and air and is capable of staying underwater as long as he likes and reemerge ready to breathe oxygen again.
- Ahuizotl Rage: In his true form, Nupac can be invariably driven into incurable rage, although given enough time he will regain full control. Nupac becomes stronger, faster, and more durable for a short time but during this period he is not present mentally, targeting whatever is the threat and seeking to eliminate it.
- Shadow Camouflage: Nupac, if in the right circumstances, can become invisible in shadows and nearly invisible in darkness. This power though, is fueled by the consumption of human flesh (particularly nails, teeth, and eyes but any parts can be consumed) and this power will not work if Nupac has not consumed these things regularly.
Biography:
Water is the first thing he feels, lapping at his fur, a cool embrace, his first love.
He is cradled in the paws of his mother, his father, the three are the shadows behind the waterfall. The jungle is his second love, the trees, the vines, the snakes and birds. The dirt beneath his paws, shimmying up as high as he can and then sliding down vines.
Their prey walks on two legs, hairless creatures that come to bathe in the pool beneath their waterfall. They ought to know better, but they do not. His tail reaches from the bottom of the lake and pulls in the mortal by a leg. The scream is quiet underwater, but the flesh is perfection. Nothing tastes better.
When he is still young the mortals come to the pool and stay just out of reach, Nupac and his family are anxious, they don't understand why the mortals won't come closer and just watch. Soon they realize when they send a man out near the water. Out of sheer starvation Nupac emerges from the water to grab his easy meal, that's when the harpoon flies past his face.
The mortals were tired of being prey, and as Nupac his shoved into the treeline by his father, watching his mother fight with all paws, he cries. Nupac does as he's told, he runs and doesn't look back. The pained roars of his parents growing quieter in the distance.
The young canine finds other creatures in the jungle, he survives for awhile, but soon mortals creep closer into the jungle over the years. The other beasts of the trees teach him how to protect himself, how to shift between his two forms, how to be calm, and then they send him off. Suns and moons pass, villages turn to cities and Nupac comes to learn the tragedies of humanity. Still a babe, he seeks the ocean, he hears it is the biggest span of water that exists. He had never seen such a thing before.
Mortals come and go, as the seasons do, Nupac experiences snow and sand, everything new and fascinating. He aches for the taste of skin, the crunch of bones and teeth in his mouth. But he doesn't indulge himself. He would be found out too quickly and harpooned much like his family. He may have forgiven humans for ripping his life from him, but he will never forget.
Aboard a boat Nupac spends much of his time swimming in the ocean, salty and bitter but the embrace is a small comfort he can find during the night, returning to the boat as a human before anyone is awake. When he hears of a strange area nearby from a curious passenger he slips off the boat in the night and makes his way towards the mysterious area. The island he finds is almost heaven, almost. It seems he found a place where his worries of death can be shelved away, if only for a little while.
