Daniella and Isabella Adriel had decided to attend the ball together. Isabella had begged her mother to let her go alone, but Daniella insisted on going with to make sure no older men mistook her for an adult. For costume choice they agreed to play off of each other's theme. Isabella wore a white angle themed ball gown with her wings displayed, tail hidden under, and a halo connecting the two horns and connecting downwards to a white mask. Daniella was dressed as a devil, in a red ball gown with her wings hidden, and a fake devil tail and red horns that connected to her mask. They looked more like sisters than mother and daughter, and in fact, many would assume that Daniella was the younger sibling, especially with the masks on. They had just moved to the island recently, and did not know many people on the island, but were excited to meet new people at the ball.

Rafael arrived later than expected, in fact, he was still wearing his favourite blue tailored fancy dinner suit. The business meeting dinner with investors living in the Narrow Reality had run a lot longer than he had expected.

Seeing his daughter, Celeste, chatting animatedly with someone, Rafael nodded at her when he caught her eye to which she excused herself and made her way over to greet him.

"Father, you made it," she grinned as she then kissed his cheek in greeting. "Ebvion is here too, they are Swallowtail and have captured the heart of a princess" she told him with a laugh, "And, of course, I am Lady Heavenly," she stated, doing a small twirl in her very elegant dove grey ball gown.

"Lady Heavenly?" Rafael chuckled, as he scanned the ballroom looking for his grandchild, Ebvion, "Stealing the hearts of princesses, my, my... next it will be fighting dragons," he said with a tiny satisfied smile.

"Are you here alone?" he enquired as he looked fixedly at his daughter.

"Zoraida was here, I saw her take off earlier with, who I suspect, was Broen. And the boys didn't want to come, they are at home with Roldan," she explained.

"Ah, yes, the young Drakenhardt," he said, remembering she had mentioned the police officer that she was seeing. "And how is that going?" he asked with interest.

"It's going quite well," she answered, a slight flush lighting her cheeks.

"I'd say more than quite well," he said noticing the blush and wondering about the young man who had caught the eye of his daughter.

"Actually... can you excuse me one moment?" Celeste said, suddenly distracted, to her father as she noticed Ebvion doing something with their magic and hurried off leaving him alone.

As mother and daughter scanned the crowded ballroom looking for someone to talk to, Daniella's eyes landed on a handsome and impeccably dressed man in his 40s. He was not wearing a mask, which made him stand out, but Daniella also thought she recognized him from somewhere. Before coming to the Manta Carlos, she researched the most powerful people on the island, and thought she might have seen his face on one of the lists, but she had trouble remembering.

Isabella noticed her mother staring at the gentleman, and smirked to herself. "Oh mom, have you seen a man you're interested in?" Isabella said in a knowing tone.

"What, of course not!" Daniella said defensively. "I don't have time for dating, he just looked familiar. I think he is part of the Del Bosque family."

"I didn't say anything about dating," Isabella teased. "You should go introduce yourself."

"Yes, maybe I should." Daniella did not like socializing at large gatherings, but she knew she had to put herself out there if she wanted to build her hospital.

Daniella and Isabella walked over toward the gentleman and curtsied. "Hello, you wouldn't happen to be Señor Del Bosque, would you? I am Dr. Daniella Adriel, and this is my daughter, Isabella. Could I trouble you for a moment of your time?" Daniella said politely but nervously.

Watching Celeste move away through the crowd, Rafael had not seen the two women approaching him.

"Ladies," he nodded politely and in greeting when they addressed him. First glancing at the taller woman and then at the shorter, more petite lady, both attired wonderfully for the occasion, with respectful curiosity. "Rafael Del Bosque at your service. How may I be of help to you this evening?" he asked curiously.

Daniella took a deep breath to collect herself, and then went right into it. "I have heard rumor of your generosity, and I thought I could interest you in a project I am working on. I'm a Doctor at Manta Carlos General Hospital, and I constantly see what our indigent patients go through. Young adults who could have lived long lives if they had access to the same treatments our wealthiest have. Mentally broken individuals who can barely speak a full sentence. Nurses that think they can get away with abuse, just because the patient is poor. I would like to help these people, and I was hoping you would feel the same. I am looking for doners to support the creation of a hospital that will eclipse Manta Carlos General, if all goes well." Daniella did her best to exude confidence with her voice while giving her pitch, but those that were observant would notice slight trembling from nervousness.

(Note, Rafael would now be in range of the Daniella's charity aura and Isabella's love/lust aura. How they would affect him is up to you.)

Rafael listened attentively and politely to her pitch, giving the young woman his full and undivided attention. Her pitch was not as subtle as it could be, and it definitely needed some refinement to it, in his opinion. However, that said, it also went straight to the point and didn't beat around the bush. Or mostly to the point, there were still quite a few questions that needed answering before he'd commit any funds to her project.

"Dr. Adriel, will you do me the honour of dancing with me?" Rafael asked her politely, nodding at her daughter as he did so, "There are a few questions I would like to ask regarding your charitable endeavour, and I think a dance may be the perfect opportunity to ask them," he suggested logically.

Daniella blushed from the offer. "I would be the one honored to dance with you," she said while holding out her arm. She was glad her pitch didn't scare him away. Daniella always preferred making her intentions known from the onset, so that no one would feel used. Now she was able to relax a little.

Before he could take her arm, Isabella, grabbed her Mother and whispered in her ear. "Are you sure this is a good idea? I don't have a good feeling about this guy. Something is off about him." Up to this point, Isabella had been frozen in fear, starting at the ground nervously, but she could not let her mother go without saying something.

"What's come over you?" Daniella whispered back. "Señor Del Bosque is a fine gentleman, and perfectly trustworthy. I know how to handle myself among people like him, I'll be fine. You can go find one of your classmates to dance with, we'll go home together once you're ready." Daniella went back to Rafael, and her daughter backed away awkwardly.

"I do apologize for my daughter's actions. l don't know what came over her. It's always an adventure raising children. Would you still like to dance?" Daniella said, now with full confidence and no trembling.

(The del Bosque's in general, I forgot it in his app but they are all not affected by negative auras. And so the daughter doesn't affect him. Daniella will, he will be more willing to give, donate.)

"That is wonderful," he said with a warm smile, unaffected by her daughter's reaction to him. He was used to people, either not trusting him, not liking his family, or generally reacting to his aura in weird ways.

Offering Daniella his hand, Rafael smiled again when she placed her tinier hand on top of his and led her to the dance floor. "Are you enjoying the evening, Dr. Adriel?" he enquired politely as they walked through a throng of people and other dancers until they found an open spot to dance.
