A Little Fall of Rain

"You're right," Kamberlyn said with a sigh. She couldn't even begin to express how much she did not want to tell Kaydence. "I'll tell him later. I just...really don't want to leave, and I know we'll have to."

"I'll tell him later. I just...really don't want to leave, and I know we'll have to."

He smiled then, eyes for a split second showing an emotion, though, what it was, was basically impossible to tell. If you do need help telling him, I'm willing to be there." Eben said, still smiling, then, "Would you really have to leave this place?"

After he thought a moment, he decided to speak again. "You know, since I found out bits of your past, I could always tell you bits and pieces of mine... as I seem fair."

"If you do need help telling him, I'm willing to be there."

Kamberlyn brightened. "Really? I think that would be good. Thanks." She said.

"Would you really have to leave this place?"

Her smile faded. "Probably. We've left other places...and nobody knew as much as you do," She said dismally.

"You know, since I found out bits of your past, I could always tell you bits and pieces of mine... as I seem fair."

"Only if you want to," Kamberlyn told him, though she really was curious about his past. She just didn't want to seem nosy.

"Really? I think that would be good. Thanks."

He smiled. "Anytime... I'm always willing to help." He said, and leaned back, and yawned slightly. He liked to help out a lot, if he could, when he couldn't it could make him a little annoyed.

"Probably. We've left other places...and nobody knew as much as you do,"

He cocked his head slightly. "I would think it'd be safer here then anywhere else. Here, there are plenty to help protect you from who's trying to get you. He said, and he truly did believe it was safest here, after all, he was here hiding as well, though, the "Truebloods" were getting closer.

"Only if you want to,"

He closed his eyes slightly, looking away a moment. It was only fair. They didn't want him to know their past, so, he thought it would be best. He then looked up. "Like I said, its only fair... well... Me and some of my cousins are also in hiding, have been for nearly a year here. There are people out there, kidnapping my entire family, slowly, but surely. It first started with my family. Where they are, I have no idea. This has been happening for... a long while... And lets see... last week we ran into them, my cousin, Trephas nearly got killed but was luckily saved by a girl... who also knows of our past... so much to explain..." Eben said, watching Kamberlyn for a moment. "And the main thing is... uhh... we're from the Dark Ages..." He said that part quieter then the rest.

"Thanks," Kamberlyn said, the smile returning.

"I would think it'd be safer here then anywhere else. Here, there are plenty to help protect you from who's trying to get you."

"Think so?" Kamberlyn was thoughtful for a moment. "Maybe I can convince him to stay." She said hopefully.

"And the main thing is... uhh... we're from the Dark Ages..."

Kamberlyn was silent through his whole speech until he reached that part. "You're what!?" Her voice rose slightly from shock.

He smiled when she said thanks, and when she said he would try to convince her brother. And he hoped her brother would agree. some reason, he didn't want Kamberlyn to go.

"You're what!?

He looked looked at her. "The medieval ages, Dark Ages. I don't quite remember that place, its been years, I was only a toddler when we somehow came to the modern day time... In that time, my parents were nobles... but, like one history book says, we disappeared, without a trace, every single family member, even if they were hardly related at all." He said, in a still calm voice.

Kamberlyn was silent for a moment, trying to digest everything he had told her. "You're...wow. Just wow." She was silent for another moment. "You're in...a history book?...That's insane. I mean, it's awesome, but it's insane...Very insane..."

After a moment, she spoke again. "How much do you know about my past?" She asked him softly.

He nodded. "Some, yes, mainly my parents, nothing about me really, just names. I have the book in my room, took it from the library, not wanting anyone to see it... now that you know this, you can't tell anyone, no one... there are people out there trying to take us. A cousin, Fury, was taken once, it was amazing he somehow got away."

"How much do you know about my past?"

"Only bits and pieces. Your father got in trouble with someone, he was trying to kill you all. A fire... they got shot... you changed your names often... came here... the man wanting to kill you after escaping..."

"I have the book in my room, took it from the library, not wanting anyone to see it..."

"May I see it?" Kamberlyn asked. Though she really wanted to see it, she also didn't. It would just be too weird for her, yet it would be amazing.

"now that you know this, you can't tell anyone, no one..."

"I won't tell anyone," Kamberlyn promised.

"the man wanting to kill you after escaping..."

Kamberlyn nodded. "Yeah, that about sums it up. Everytime anyone finds out anything about us — even if they don't and Kaydence gets a strange feeling-- we pack up and move and change our names again."

"May I see it?"

She had asked. Eben shrugged. "Sure, but I'd have to get it then" He said, looking at the door. His dorm wasn't far, that was good.

"I won't tell anyone,"

He looked at Kamberlyn again and smiled, happy. "Thanks." He said. His turn to say that.

"Yeah, that about sums it up. Everytime anyone finds out anything about us — even if they don't and Kaydence gets a strange feeling-- we pack up and move and change our names again."

"It sounds like it would get a little annoying, always having to do that... what was your true name? When I saw some parts, I didn't get names, my power hardly does that..."
