A Little Fall of Rain

Kamberlyn sat curled up in a chair, her head on her hand. Silky black curls fell against her light cheek. A thick book was open on her lap and she was nodding off to sleep, tired from staying up all night reading.

Her head slid off her hand as she fell completely asleep, then she sat straight up again and blinked quickly to keep herself awake. She stretched as much as she could, and looked around, still blinking rapidly.

The rainy weather outside didn't help her situation much either. She turned her head and looked out the window, watching rain beat against the glass.

Eben couldn't sleep, like usual. He was often awake, never being able to sleep with the memories of others on the same floor buzzing around in his head. Silently he walked towards the lounge. When he got there, it seemed empty, he hadn't noticed Kamberlyn for a long time, till he felt his power pulling slightly, though, it was quite weaker, since he knew the girls past, even though, his powers still wanted to go wild and see it again, but it was easier to control right now.

He looked at Kamberlyn a moment, before walking towards her.

"Hi." He said, sort of hoping she didn't mind him there.

Kamberlyn turned abruptly. She smiled when she saw who it was. She shut her book gently and moved it off her lap, then shifted around in hopes of getting more comfortable. "Eben! Hi." She was silent for a brief moment. "How are you?"

Eben smiled slightly. He sat in a chair that was close to hers. "I'm fine... thanks... and you?" He asked. He leaned back in his chair, as he ran a hand through his black hair. He's thoughts turned to the day he met Kamberlyn, and how his powers went a little wild.

"I'm fine too." Kamberlyn said. "Just a little tired." She put a hand over her mouth to stifle a yawn. "That's what I get for staying up late and reading so much..." She said.

"That's what I get for staying up late and reading so much..."

He smirked slightly. "I usually stay up also... but its most of the time worth it." Eben said. He loved books, more then anyone in his family. When he reads, he won't ever let it down until its finished, even if he is up all night sometimes.

Kamberlyn nodded in agreement. "Yes, that's true. The book I'm reading right now, however, is a little harder to concentrate on," She said with a slight sigh. "But I'm determined to finish it."

Those type of books never get finished for me, sadly, if I can't concentrate on the first page then I don't even read it." He said, and laughed a little.

Kamberlyn smiled. "I do that quite a bit too," She said. "But I've been told that someone dies, and I want to know who." She shrugged.

"Ah, the curiosity." He merely said, and then yawned slightly. He looked away a moment, towards a window, thinking, then turned be o Kamberlyn. "Does your brother know yet that I... saw some of your past?" He asked. He knew she never mentioned her brother once they first met, but when his power took over, he saw a little of there past, and knew she then had a brother.
