Cody was worried, which wasn't a new thing to him. Ever since the transformation things had been getting weird. It had been awhile and he was finally feeling comfortable in his own skin. That was until he started getting letters, the letters were from an ex of his. It was kind of sweet at first and then things turned a bit...weird. Like showing up at his job, seeing his car outside of his house type of weird.

Cody didn't want to tell anybody, he was afraid that they'd worry. Cody wasn't a confrontational person in the slightest, he gave in just so he didn't have to fight. Even if that person was wrong. He felt like he should give in. The final straw was finding his door unlocked and flowers strewn across his living room. He had spent the weekend with one of his sisters and came back to a bunch of orange lilies which were his favorite flower.

It wasn't all that aweful except for the note was a bit threatening, telling him to stay away from his boss. He wasn't even attracted to his boss, he decided to call for help. Maybe this LeiLei guy could help, at least the police said he could since he was determined to not leave the house. He didn't need his ex following him around and messing with me.

When the police called Lelei in for contract work, the case was usually of an especially unusual nature, the kind that only an especially unusual officer could handle. In less vague terms, the police usually called Lelei in to do cases, the cases dealt with the supernatural or magical or mythical. The Manta Carlos police were mildly trained and equipped to handle the strangeness that came out of the Academy, but they always needed the extra hand and Lelei was their go-to guy.

So when Lelei learned that his newest case was a stalking one, he found it to be strange when compared to his usual case load. But then he also found out that the victim was of a supernatural nature, and the assignment made just a little more sense. Still, he thought that a regular officer could have handled it until things got really weird.

The first step, as assigned by the department, was to meet the victim at their home and establish some kind of base line for observation and possible apprehension of the subject. Dressed in his more police-adjacent uniform, Lelei approached the door and gave a few rapts on it.

"This is the Manta Carlos Police Department. We received a call for aid at this address."

Cody was sitting on a stool near his kitchen counter. He had one of those awesome kitchens with the island, and the counter top that could be a dinner bar counter thing. He was staring at the flowers with contempt, he obviously had bad taste in men. Like why couldn't he date one person that was either a jerk or a crazy person. Okay to be fair his ex wasn't crazy, just really persistent and possessive...and okay yeah the threatening notes about his boss was scary. However the man had good intentions right? The knock on the door scared him, he jumped up and cautiously approached the door. He wouldn't show up right?? No, he wasn't that stupid...was he?

He let out a sigh of relief that it was just the police and he opened the door just a bit before he opened it all the way. "T-t-thank you for coming, u-uhm would you like some c-coffee or something?" He asked looking behind the police officer before he closed the door. His ex wouldn't be upset that he had the officer over? It was possible, but like it was the obvious choice, with the break in and all.

Cody nervously wrung his hand, his living room covered with his favorite flower. Although it didn't do anything good for him, it actually made him feel quite sick. He was going to have to get a new favorite flower.

For once, the person he was responding to had no real reaction to the sight of a giant shark man at their door. Cody was not the first to not care, but it was a rare enough event that Lelei took notice of it whenever it did occur. That was a few minutes of explaining he could skip in favor of getting right to the point at hand.

Lelei graciously bowed his head before entering the home.

"No, but thank you for the offer."

He immediately began assessing the situation inside the home. While he was not one to judge what a person did within their homes, assuming it was all legal and non-violent, Lelei had a sneaking suspicion that all the flower petals strewn about the house were not a planned feature. If it really was the work of the stalker, the suspect already had a possible breaking and entering charge against him.

"Well, I'm Lelei, and here to see to the problem you called-in about.

Start from the beginning. Tell me everything you can about the situation here, and what I should be looking for, or how I can help you, Mr...?"

Cody nodded and smiled a bit, still unnerved about the whole thing. He thought his house was safe, he had even bought a new security system. How did this happen to him and then he asked the question...the one he was hoping that he didn't have to answer right away.

"Well uhm you see, u-uh. I was dating this guy named Dante and we broke up and He started sending me letters and emails saying that he wanted to get back with me" He said rubbing the back of his neck. He was positive that he had told Dante, that he wasn't interested under any circumstances.

"I sent them back, I told him that I was done and then he started sending me chocolates and showing up at my job, and then it stopped." He said sighing and then rubbing his temples, at least he thought it had stopped. "Then I come home and the door is unlocked even though I know I locked and There are flowers everywhere. there's a not telling me to stay away from my boss, and a picture of him helping me carry my stuff to my car." He said looking a bit frightened.

'It's cody, just cody"

As per his usual routine, Lelei pulled out a small-ish notepad and pencil from his belt to begin taking notes of Cody's story. It was important for the people back at hardquarters to have notes and information to work off of when the case was nearing the trial phase, assuming Cody was going to press charges for the whole incident. For Lelei, it also allowed him to collect his thoughts and get an initial read on the stalker guy.

When Cody was all done, Lelei took a few moments to record some notes about what he was seeing in the house as well. The pen and paper were put away and Lelei approached Cody.

"Sounds like a classic stalker case to me, but with some added danger since he's already shown hostility regarding your boss."

Lelei began to walk around to Cody's windows and check their locks.

"I can call this in to the station with Dante's full name, and we can send some officers to get him. But we just have your testimony to go on, and that might not be enough.

So here's my offer: I'll stay here for tonight and make sure he doesn't come back. If he does, I can get him red-handed. Would you be comfortable with that?"

Cody nodded as he watched the officer write things down on his pad. He wasn't exactly sure what to feel. To be perfectly honest He was scared of everything, what if the vases had camera's in them, or he watching his house. He immediately perked up at the thought of the officer watching his house, the fact that he would do something like that.

He handed the officer a card Dante's business car, he thought the accountant was a nice change from the people at the club he frequented. Obviously he should've stuck to the club patrons because his ex was crazy. "That would make me feel a lot better, I can't help but worry he's watching my house."

Yes it made Cody feel extremely weak but he wasn't the type of person that liked confrontation or fighting. He was glad that someone could do it for him, the confronting and the keeping things okay. "Are you sure you don't need anything. If you're staying the night I could make you something to eat." of course he was gonna be in his car or something, or on the couch? He didn't know, but Cody couldn't just let him walk away empty handed. Maybe a cake or something? What did the man eat...he wondered taking in the man's appearance, he didn't want to assume anything.

"It's settled then. I'll stay the night here."

Lelei also wondered if Dante was watching the house as they spoke, and if he saw Lelei enter. From Dante's previous actions, if he had then Dante would act up in a big way. As morbid as it was to say, Lelei was counting on Dante making some kind of move that night. It would be the quickest way to end the whole fiasco, if not necessarily the cleanest.

With their plan settled, Lelei visibly relaxed somewhat. He would need to remain vigilant the whole, and possibly even stay up the entire time. So maybe taking advantage of Cody's hospitality would not be that bad of an idea.

"Some coffee would nice. Strong. And a lot of it."

A regular mug would be engulfed entirely by Lelei's hand, and whatever it contained would prove quite inadequate as well.

"Then you can show me around your home so I can become familiar with it, or tell me a little about yourself. If I'm going to be staying here a night, I might as well get to know you better."

Cody was glad that he accepted coffee, it felt bad that he was taking an evening away from the man. All because he had dated a crazy guy, it wasn't as if he could make Dante go away himself but he was hoping that it work. Maybe he would show up and Leilei would deal with it swiftly.

"Okay, Ill start the coffee now and then get rid of the flowers." He said moving towards the kitchen and opening the window that would allow the man to still talk to him while he moved. He moved around to try and find a big enough of cup for the man. Show him around the house? The thought made Cody blush a bit, he hadn't actually had any guy besides Dante in his house for awhile.

"Uhm, I'm twenty-five and I work in the Record store across from the supermarket in town. I'm thinking of trying singing but with being a Siren it's kind of...I dunno risky?" He said shrugging his shoulder and coming back with a big pitcher full of coffee. He wasn't sure if he was supposed to add sugar.

"Okay, i uh, uhm I can show you around now" If you want he said shifting nervously, he wasn't sure how he supposed to go about the whole thing.
