"Class dismissed."

With the students leaving Sherry let out a sigh. Why she had agreed to come sub that day was a mystery, but it was better the nothing. Least it gave her something to do and she didn't have to just sleep the day away till clubbing time. After the last student left Sherry disappeared for a moment, only to reappear in her street cloths instead of a business suit. With one of her fingers in the ring of a kunai, Sherry sits back down at the desk and sets her head down on it muttering to herself when she felt the last of the students leave her hand in the air spinning the kunai.

"Man teaching shit I lived through is a pain in the ass. Swear to god I wanted to nail that damn kid in the face when he said that the Moonlight Assassin was nothing but a myth used to scare the enemies of the Shoguns. Man I miss that time period. Much more adventurous then today at least."

Sitting back up she let out an annoyed groan. True she loved history as she lived through a good part of it, but she really hated when people didn't believe the information that they were given at the Academy since a lot of history is fully told to them over certain events.

"Man. Wonder how history would have changed if I had completed that contract on the Court. Woulda been easy looking back. One thing that fat bastard couldn't do was find me something fun. Thinking back the Court gave me better jobs then that damn Shogun. Meh oh well, history turned out alright I suppose. Man I talk to myself too much."

Tucker had dismissed his class earlier and decided to walk around the school for a while. He hasn't really seen the entirety of the campus and thought he should give himself the tour. He found his way into the high school building where most of the students were recently dismissed from their own classes. Soon the crowd thinned out and he passed through empty classrooms until he found one that wasn't exactly the definition of empty.

He slowed his pace when he heard a woman's voice. It wasn't all too loud for him to make out what she was saying, but he could still somewhat pick up the soft sound. Eventually, he found the room Sherry was in. She was just sitting there and talking to herself.

Man, I talk to myself too much. He heard her say. A soft chuckle escaped his lips as he walked to appear at the door, "You know, psychologists do say that people who talk to themselves tend to be smarter than the average person," he said, leaning by the door's frame and his arms crossed.

"Ah! Pardon me, I couldn't help but overhear you talking from the hallway," he said, giving her a gentle smile. "The Moonlight Assassin disappeared in the face of Japan. No one knows what happened; I'm not surprised to know kids these days don't believe in her." He didn't quite hear all that she said, but it was enough for him to assume that this woman could be the fabled Assassin herself. He heard rumors of her before when he was younger. It was quite a topic to the nobility at that time. And coming from a samurai family, he heard more than just stories. He took time to look into the topic and found her intriguing, especially up the point where she suddenly vanished from the records.

At the sound of a voice the kunai left her finger and lodged itself not far from the voice's owner. Was more out of boredom then anything. Looking over at the door a few moments Sherry disappeared and reappeared back in her chair with the kunai around her finger once more, just a notch in the doorframe from where it had once been.

"Or they say they're crazy. Different sides of the same coin after all."

Letting out a yawn mild curiosity crossed her face in the form of an eyebrow at the mention of her past life. Someone who actually paid attention to history? Or was it something else. She didn't care at the moment, but was interested so she figured giving some of her attention was polite enough.

"So, you know that much huh? Well that's all there really is. She disappeared and wasn't seen. But thinking her assassinations are nothing but myth is just stupid. But kids at this school don't care much unless it's about their own powers and shit. You'd think with them having powers straight out of fantasy they'd believe myths and legends."

Sherry had started to stare at her kunai while it was spinning on her finger. Her tone sounded of simply boredom and the way she was sitting and acting showed the exact same thing. Letting out a small sigh she disappeared and reappeared right next to the kid with her left hand still spinning the kunai while resting on her right palm with her arm crossed over her chest.

"So. How do you know about her exactly? Only had a few classes today and I know you weren't there. People don't exactly look up famous, legendary, or mythical assassins just out of the blue."

Even when the kunai went past him, Tucker didn't even blink. His eyes moved to where the blade had lodged itself into before glancing back at Sherry. When he did, he saw the kunai back at her hand. Impressive, he thought. It had been a while since he encountered assassins of her class.

"I like to look at the brighter side of things, you know," Tucker responded as he stepped into the room, gaze cast at the other end of the room. The air was warm from the presence of students only minutes before. "But it's quite true. Kids these days tend to be a little more egocentric." But of course, that's what Tucker was interested about. The children who were so interested about their abilities that their main purpose was to develop it. And that's what Tucker's life-long study was about.

He stopped at one of the desks not too far from the other teacher, "I suppose you can say I've heard thousands of stories about her when I was younger. The Moonlight Assassin was pretty popular where I was from, you see. Almost like I was there during the first time her name appeared on written records," he said ominously, remembering his life before he turned immortal.

"Ah, yes, I haven't introduced myself," he said, turning to face Sherry out of formality, "Tucker Watanabe, I teach Magic Studies here. Though I suppose you can say I know my history pretty well too."

Egocentric huh? Well Sherry couldn't blame them. Going from normal to suddenly having super powers would make people think highly of themselves. At the end of the day though someone who thought they were better then others and abused their powers would end up becoming their own worst enemy and one of her next targets.

"Long as my house doesn't catch on fire or some shit they can be as egocentric as they want. Kids these days have no idea how well off they are. Especially the dorks here."

Sherry actually perked up and started to pay attention at the mention of him hearing about her when he was younger. If he certainly wanted to b ring her attention to a head he did. So he's that old huh? Well the day just got interesting that's for sure.

"Sherry. I substitute History every now and then. So you know history huh? Considering what you just said I'm assuming an Immortal? And if you were a kid at the time I'm going to assume roughly 600 years so that means....Yeah you would know some good history. Well I got a question for ya then. How much different do you think Japan would be today if the Imperial Court had been assassinated? Rumors told that was the one job the Moonlight Assassin refused. Makes me wonder how different things would have been if she had accepted. Thoughts from one History buff to another?"

It was a bait. And it was clear it was. She wasn't exactly worried if he figured out what she was doing. Not yet. She didn't exactly want it to be known about her past as there were people still alive who harbored grudges against her former self that day. Granted which variation of the Moonlight Assassin was main key. She had been killing far before she showed up in Japan. That was just the earliest record of her in history.

Tucker's gentle smile turned into a rather malicious smirk. "Sharp. As expected." He didn't need to spare so much to be too secretive about his extended stay with the living. He was in Starlight Academy, there was no need for him to be so reserved about it. And if his theory was true than how lucky must he be today to meet one of his first curiosities.

On the other hand, Tucker never particularly cared about the political concerns of Feudal Japan. He was younger and all his concerns were for his quest for knowledge. But if he knew anything, a blow on the ruling power that held the Imperial Court in their grasp meant something bad for him. He moved around in the prefecture in safety for being in the Imperial Court; if he would answer her too honestly, he'd actually say that he would never see the difference because he might have been killed too. But he wouldn't say that to her face.

"Who knows? The Imperial Court during the Kamakura Period was under the Shogun. They might as well be little playthings for the Shogun--even his excellency, the Emperor, himself." he laughed quietly. He knew what she was trying to do. He didn't particularly care as long as he wasn't in his hit list. "I don't quite see the point of trying to know what-ifs but if you have to ask me, it would have caused an uproar and public unrest. Who knows, Ashikaga wouldn't have been the next Shogun and the Muromachi could never started. That would be sad because that was my favorite period in the history of Japan." More or less, he wouldn't even be here. It was during that time he had the most freedom to study magic.

"I can't really say how much Japan would be different though, I suppose there may be differences if it led to somone else becoming Shogun other than Ashikaga. Oda couln't have followed, or maybe he could have controlled Japan earlier and let the country be Christianized completely. Maybe that's one outcome, don't you think?"

...So she was baited instead it seemed. This caused her to be slightly more on guard but it didn't show. Honestly she didn't want to gut someone on academy grounds. Maybe stalk him later? Naa too easy. Guy didn't seem like he'd put up much of a challenge. And she didn't exactly feel up to anything else which made the decision easier.

"Hmm....Well you do make a solid point. Kill the puppet another just takes his place. Man those were such simple times. Dunno bout that other shit. I mean it was certainly possible but here's something else to think on. If the assassin killed the Court, then she'd kill anyone. So anyone who did something that wasn't well liked would meet the same end. So either way it could still have ended up close to the same or completely different. Unless we meet a time traveler, don't exactly think we could get a different answers."

Sherry turned herself towards Tucker and stopped spinning her kunai, with it pointed down. It would be easy, no one would know. Who was she kidding, she gave up that life long ago. Was no reason for her to randomly murder people just because they had a hunch. Now if Tucker had threatened her....Well his body wouldn't be found that's for sure. It was clear he was either trying to trip her up or get a confession. Ehh fuck it. Sherry could tell from his actions and body language he already figured it out. Anyone from that time could piece it together a lot better then someone from the current time. Within a few seconds the kunai returned to spinning on her finger.

"So here's a thought. If you had one chance to ask Moonlight a question, what would it be I wonder? Given the many assassinations, stories, and her sudden disappearance from history and you had just a single question to ask what would it be?"

She wasn't hiding it at this point. Sherry was offering to answer something in a manner that anyone walking past wouldn't suspect a thing. Very few at Starlight could even figure out her true age and even then they still speculated over what it could be. No one dared ask her. Sherry might look young, but she was both still a woman and old. No woman likes being asked their age after all.

"People who try and alter the past often regret it," Tucker responded knowingly, "Bad things happen to anyone who play with time, even the tiniest ripple in the past can have dire changes in the future after it. It's best to let things as they are. Japan has become a successful country as it is now, after all. It'll be quite a shock for things."

Tucker had always wondered what the Moonlight Assassin had in her head, yet he never thought she would look back to such things. He wondered if it was out of regret or simply being cautious of possible enemies. Frankly, Tucker had nothing to do with political trifles despite his rank. His father was a respectable samurai and his mother served under him. His older brothers also served as samurai but him. He was fragile but his intellect was something people noted him for to get him to serve in the Imperial Court as a scholar.

Tucker's gaze occasionally turned to the blade in her hand. She was cautious. It made him stand on guard but he made sure he looked as relaxed. It wasn't like he didn't have any defensive spells under his sleeve. He was making it clear to her he was on neutral grounds, or at least, whatever she had done in the past, he had no qualms about it. It was a decision made centuries ago. He wouldn't antagonize her for doing or not doing something. That would be pathetic. All he wanted was for her to just stop playing around and just confirm that she really was the Moonlight Assassin being. Not like there was any room for mistakes in Tucker's part. He just knew enough to know when she was there in front of him.

'So here's a thought. If you had one chance to ask Moonlight a question, what would it be?' Tucker laughed inwardly walking to the table where Sherry sat. That was it. That question basically answered his theory. Sherry was in fact, the Moonlight Assassin herself. A figure of legends, right in front of him. He felt honored for one thing.

"One chance? Well, I have always wondered what did happen to the Moonlight Assassin after her disappearance. Her disappearance made a fuss among the scholars of that time. People wondered if she died, or began to question if she ever existed at all." He stood next to Sherry, right behind the table with his back turned against her. He was at least sure he'll be able to defend himself. If he was able to suppress a 2000 year old parasite, he was sure he'd be able to hold himself against the Moonlight Assassin. It might be wishful thinking for his part though. "So, what did actually happen? Where did she go? I've really wanted to know the story for ages now."

Sherry wasn't surprised at the question. It was one of the most sought after answers concerning her legend. Plenty of theories out there, her favorite being she couldn't kill one of her targets and ended up marrying him and settling down. Letting out a sigh the kunai stops spinning on her finger as she grips it, the bladed end pointing down as she held the kunai. She didn't mind Tucker knowing. It had been so long since she met another immortal. Well one she wasn't hired to kill anyway.

"Alright I'll stop the bullshit. You want the truth? I left the country. Was difficult at the time but I managed to make it to China. From there I just lived my life working for merchants until around the discovery of the Americas. Went across on the voyage and lived in North America until Starlight discovered me. That's all you're getting out of me for the time being."

Emphasis was put on "time being." She wasn't spilling everything all at once, but just enough to answer where she went and how she ended up at Starlight. Rubbing her temples the kunai leaves her hands as it slips into her belt loop. No use threatening him anymore. As easily as she could kill someone, it just wasn't as satisfying or anything anymore. Just not worth the hassle.

"Well you found one of Japan's greatest legends. I would appreciate if you kept what I'm telling you to yourself. There are people who would come to Manta just to find me and kill me, along with burning the whole island down. Families hold deep grudges, especially those who would have risen to power had I not interfered and murdered their ancestors."

If anything she could deal with them herself but that'd just give people a reason to cause harm to the Island. It was her home now and she felt more at home here then roaming around the world alone. Least here she could talk with beings as old as Tucker and do whatever she wanted to a degree without being monitored by the police or something.

"So I have a question. It seems you trust your reflexes enough on the chance I were to attack you. So how afraid were you that I might actually attempt to kill you here and now and succeed at it?"

"Thank you for indulging my curiosity, Sherry. Tucker couldn't help but smile when Sherry finally decided to drop the act. That was easier that he'd expected, he thought. But it didn't matter; he knows now that she acknowledged that there was no need for pretenses.

Though he had to admit she left out details. Then again, he simply asked for what happened. She left the country and left behind life as the Moonlight Assassin as he did when he left behind life as Takeru Yumemiya. For whatever reasons she had on leaving Japan, she could keep it to herself. But at the very least, he might as well say that he now has a piece of the puzzle of the Moonlight Assassin's disappearance in history.

He turned around to face her, leaning his back on the chalkboard behind them, "I am duly honored to meet the Moonlight Assassin in person. You can be sure your secret will be kept safe." Tucker has been keeping more secrets than any person should have — the name of one particular demon Duke, the truth of the Voynich manuscript and what had happened in SS Ourang Medan. One more didn't hurt.

So I have a question, she began. He expected she'd ask him a question too. So how afraid were you that I might actually attempt to kill you here and now and succeed at it?. A chuckle escaped Tucker's lips. "Frankly, I was quite terrified of the prospect of you trying to kill me. Though I do have defensive spells, I may only be able to avoid getting stabbed in the chest in theory. But I wouldn't be so sure about you succeeding."

Tucker smirked, looking at Sherry in the eye. Whether or not she was going to take that as a challenge, he didn't particularly care. "I'm deathless."
